Lets assume for the sake of conversation that typing in local lags you out (it doesn't btw). How would each goon typing one line of fofofofofo in local after a battle make any difference in the outcome of the battle that already took place?

In every POS they had something like this. Yes, we put up a small, lightly armed, completely irrelevant POS full of frigates just you lag you guys out as you sat next door with your capital fleet too scared to defend the RISE POS's exiting reinforced. Makes total sense to me. edit: That was also the only Goonswarm POS we had in the system

There was no unusual lag on my client and if this in itself isnt some sort of indication that local channel overload doesnt cause abnormal lag, nothing does.

There's absolutely no technical way that 30 newbies fofofoing in local will lag you. I did note that the OP hasn't responded. Perhaps he has taken our advice and gone back to empire like a good bob pet should.

There was this one time that Remedial came on while drunk (I assume) and kept typing in some foreign character that EVE's chat didn't render properly and would freeze up the screen for a few seconds each time he spammed it. I had to tell him to stop because he was doing it in intel channels and it could have been screwing up an op or something. Despite that, "fofofo" won't do anything remotely like that and is completely harmless.
