I don't have any examples, but i think that the best name are the names that sorta fits in with the world, but isn't based on other people's fiction or ideas. Or other RL stuff.

names that arnt things like john604525 or stuff like that. is a space type game so the names should saound at least vaguely spacey imo. in a dungeouns n dragons type setting you should go for Lord this or Sir that something that goes with the setting.
just my opinion :)

My charactor was supposed to be named Spaceman Spiff but it was already taken :(
Wish I could change my name, I feel people don't respect people named Puppy or Dust for that matter.

I'm proud of my name - it's been my character name in Eve since the beginning of time, and I insist on using it even with the amount of negative attention it might attract. It'll get me killed many times, I bet.

Hey HG, your previous pic was better, and I notice that there's no storm coming this time either.
Ontopic, and interestingly enough, best name I ran across is probably Istvaan Shogaatsu - that sounds 100% Caldari and 100% appropriate, unlike the vast majority of usernames.
The funniest name I saw was Qtip...really...
edit: until I came across IH8MYX.

Since my usualy online name of Brom was taken I thumbed through a dictionary and came up with hematic which I think just means 'of or pertaining to blood".
I like the IH8MYX, that's funny.
I also like the name Ganja, it also sounds like name for those who don't know the slang.

I came across a guy in named SpyAlt or Altspy or something like that. Oddly enough, he was in a noob corp :)
I have to agree with the respondant above: the best names are ones that maintain the character of the game. Having names like Cobra2003 just defeat the whole "rpg" part of mmorpg.
