I'm just sayin', there's a "Like and get likes" thread, or something similar, in several of the subforums here; and, much to the surprise of all involved I'm sure, none of the participants have as many likes as I do or as a few other people who are active and contributing posters. Not only is it a waste of server space for such threads to exist, since they add no content to the discussions ongoing about this game, but they are also woefully inefficient at farming likes. The long and short of it, kids, is if you want to have a lot of likes then you have to make a lot of posts and hopefully some of them will be good.

So, after we whored up our likes to insane levels to demonstrate the meaninglessness of the spacebook system you want likes to become meaningful again?
This would require to reset all the likes to zero beforehand.
And it would require VERY strict moderation, or else it would be just another law that is meaningless because it isn't enforceable.
I don't want stricter moderation, I want blooms of anarchy and madness poising through these pages....

Is this really an issue? We have one near dead circle jerking like thread going and I haven't seen any like begging during my browsing. Not that it would be any worse than the blatant trolling and flaming already ongoing here. Why would CCP implement a special rule against something when it's not an issue? They can also already close any possible new circle jerking threads using the "Keep it in a single thread" -reasoning and remove like begging posts from other threads for many different legitimate reasons like offtopic post/spam/begging not allowed. |

The Mittani gets his likes from the cult of personality surrounding him by virtue of his leadership; the same can be said of Vile Rat and of Weaselior. The official posters get a lot of likes for each of their posts, because they are genuinely popular. A few other posters, to include myself and Alikchi, just post a lot and as a result have a high number of likes spread across a high number of posts.

I bought the original 1986 comics (novels) when they came-out, and I still have them, so I must concur. However, the movie was quite well done regardless of whether or not fans were expecting the "squid". Jackie Earle Haley absolutely nailed Rorschach's character. The movie also makes a good argument for the reintroduction of the intermission if it is viewed in a theater.

I think having the likes system kills conversation, not only that it's going to turn every forum into youtube because everyone will be doing stupid comments like "Like my post if you think this idea is stupid" and then the forums will just become useless.
Youtube has gotten so stupid for the most part that I've actually had to download an addon that hides the comment section to prevent me from trolling those morons so let's not devolve EVE Online into that shall we?

THE SQUID WOULD NOT BE A TWO ARM AND WOULD HELP THE ONE ARMS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE TWO ARM MENACE.
