will you allow me to discount the second account ? :) I think I have a 6 month renewal on my second about to come about... :)
can I link my 2nd account to my first to get a discounted rate ? would be nice 'reward' for my long standing gameplaying loyalty :)
oh I use a CC I dont use GTC's.

I'd do it if I could link two existing accounts but that would be a bad marketting strategy on your part lol. Kudos to this though, I know a lot of players who havn't created an additional character due to cost and have sufferred / cursed me with their envy because I dual / tri / quad box.

Works now, account created. Wrangler, an excellent example of CCP remaining the most responsive and forward thinking companies in the gaming industry. I rarely complain, but it's good to see that people are actually listening.
Cheers and major kudos. Thanks!

How come it it will cost 50USD/50EU? CCP do u guys even know what you can do with 50EU compared to 50USD?
This is not fair, I am very dissapointed.. I wish I could pay in USD than it would be like 50% cheaper. I couldnt pay that when I bought the game online, so I guess I couldnt even now...
A very dissapointed customer here.

Of course you could always compare 6 x Ç14.99 to Ç50 and just be glad for the significant discount...

The Euro/Dollar parity is really discouraging. I live in Euro-zone and I already paid for the first account through and absurd US ETC dealer for this reason (40% discount mind you, but some extra benefits for a US industry that does nothing to specially deserve it) and now the same absurd price in Euro and $$ is still maintained for those offers. Swiss players do not suffer from that, I doubt English ones pay in Euros but French, German and other Belgians probably do. What is the logic behind that?
And will CCP maintain this policy should the Dollar reach 0.5 Euros or lower in some months?
I feel unjustly milked.
Meanwhile, congratulation for the Linux client, a smart move.

Basically - I already have a second account and I have to split my training time between two characters, and 6 months would allow me to pretty much get one of the alts polished up to where he needs to be. But the existing $20 character transfer fee is pretty much a turnoff for me.
Any character transfers are not included in the price I'm afraid.
Originally by: phillie blunt so the 6 months apply to the 2 accounts or just to the new account?
The Power of Two offer means if you have an existing account you can get an additional account for 49.95, this includes account creation and 6 months of game time, after that you can continue using the account for the normal cost.

Power of Two is only for new accounts created with this offer, not discount for existing accounts.

The only method of payment for this is credit card (or debit card).
Originally by: Various posters I still can't get the Power of Two offer to show up even though I meet all requirements (paraphrased).
I will send off another email so we can check what is happening.
Originally by: Various posters Why do we pay so much more in EUR than those paying in USD (paraphrased)?
As we have said before, the main reason for the difference in cost is the EU VAT, which is basically a tax in most of Europe. There is an additional difference in price, which is due to the USD being weak right now. We have decided not to increase the price in USD for now, if that decision changes we will announce it.
I hope this clears up some questions and I will get back to you with more information on the Power of Two offer not showing up for some of you when I know more.

So let me understand this. We have our first old account, normal paying. With the power of two we get a second new account for 49,5$ for 6 months. But that money also includes our first old account also for 6 months OR its just for our new second account and we continue to pay separatly for our first old account ??

Yes, it is only for the second account, you still pay as usual for your original account.

- You spell out that you would pay back VAT to the EU when one is buying from there... I am a bit surprised to say the least, and I suspect it must be very simple indeed! - but what happens when if I buy ETC by shatteredcrystal for instance? Are they paying VAT to the EU too? And on which basis? - and if I were a US official playing from, say, the US embassy in Luxembourg? I am probably not supposed to pay VAT in this case, playing from US soil, and I would probably be entitled to a refund?
It is the first time ever I am doing some fiscal optimisation a la Big Corp. Things are turning a bit weird in this Earthly world...
Oh, by the way, you're welcome in the EU! Plus on est de fous plus on rit.

If you're buying from a non-EU retailer you may have to pay the VAT yourself (depending on the EU country you live in)

Edited by: Boule Desbois on 09/11/2007 00:49:26 About this difference of prices... some precisions fetched there and elsewhere: - Island is a member of the European Economic Space (EEE in French), which is apparently not a custom union but an economic union. Go figure... Norway and Lichtenstein are other non-EU members of this agreement, and Switzerland is closely associated to it too but with some derogations. - according to what I have read, any non-EU company selling through the Internet or otherwise to EU customers should collect the VAT (possibly considering one single rate for the whole EU) and give it back to one single fiscal administration of one of the EU member of its choice (presumably, the one with the aforementionned rate).
Conclusions: - Shatteredcrystal/Ebay and the others ETC resellers should charge for the EU VAT and give it back to the EU states through one of them. I am not so sure they do that... - CCP should (and certainly does) collect the VAT and give it to one EU state.
The catch is: this would count for 15% of the price in the worse case scenario, and a 45% difference between US and EU prices is not justified.
Well... sorry for the annoyance, I'll have some Veldspar now... and I still feel milked. Meeeuuuuu!!

Quote: make it cheaper...
pure and simple, screw VAT or whatever reason it is ur keeping the EU price at the same figure as the US price.
Make EU players pay 35 euros (give or take) so it's the same as US players with their 50 bucks.
Unfortunately, CCP has set their prices in $$ instead of ISK (Icelandic Krona). The ISK has appreciated about 16% over the $ since jan 2007. That means the $$ players have a 16% discount to the Krona today. Not bad?
Euro players are paying a 46% premium (at 1.46 $ to a Ç). In fact our costs have increased from a 32% premium in jan 2007 (1.32 $ to 1 Ç) in Jan 2007 to 46% today. ie increase of 14%.
CCP is losing 16% on each $$ account and gaining 14% on each Çland account.
No country has a 46% VAT.
The $$ will continue to go down the toilet. And the Ç will continue to go up (soon 1.5$ to 1 Ç) That means Çland will continue to pay more while $$ customers will continue to pay less.
At 10.00 hours (gmt+1) there are roughly 18players on line. most are probably euro. thats the equiv. of 26k $$ players with no extra server load. not bad, huh?
...and as for the button to extend to a second client. where is it?

This would be against the EULA since you're not allowed to transfer accounts.

Hi,
no offence, but the normal cost after 6 month is just ridiculous, I think. Please, keep the same low price for long time customers. That case I am willing to spend another 49 bucks for CCP every 6 month.

What exactly does Po2 do for you? Besides costing less for the second account for 6 months and allowing you to train an Alt character at the same time as the main. Can you run both accounts at the same time? Will you receive a different start up interface? Let me know. I'm interested if the benefits are worth it.

There will be no other interface. You got the point in every other aspects of it. You can use them both at the same time via running multiple clients paralelly, of course.
