I thought all of EVE Online was AFK, EVE=AFK gameplay at its finest. 90% of my time in PVP I am pretty much AFK
Most of the time I am not even turning on the game, yet I play. |

Yes I do, as a matter of fact.
I think that in general the little bees are just that stupid. Your job is to suffer for the greater good (read: Mittens). When little bees start to think for themselves, they are no longer little bees and become a liability to those who rule the hive ( again: Mittens).

Does that mean that Mittens is the Queen bee? Drag Queen perhaps, he does like to "drone" on after all about himself.

Don't fit faction mods. Ever.
Fit a DCU. Always.
The harder to kill and less valuable you are, the more likely some will find a different target that is easier and more profitable.
Expand local window and set a standing to known ganking groups. Set local to 'show compact list'. Now you just have to take a quick glance to see any potential threats with much more ease and dock up if needed.
Orbit asteriods. Don't simply sit there. Any extra movement and angles, no matter how small.. impact the accuracy AND the strength of hits. A small movement and change in angular can change a gun from performing an excellent shot to a light hit (I honeslty don't remember the dmg multiplier names and their order so excuse me if the degree from excellent to light is too much). Hulks do have a sig radius significantly under that of large arties sig rez (150 vs 400).. use that to your advantage and move. Every little bit can help towards surviving just enough before Concord arrives instead of ship-boom.
If someone tries to talk to you in local. Respond when you notice.. and don't be a **** about it. Some ppl, like me for example.. rather pop a bot than just some afk legit miner. If you're a **** about it tho.. expect more trouble than its worth to act like a **** for 30 seconds.
If/when popped.. oh well, it is part of the game. It is after all just a game. If this rattles your core too much, this simply isn't the game for you. Not saying it doesn't suck.. but revenge or a 'good' attitude is far more respected in this Game, than being a lil ***** about it. If you're going to act like a *****.. you're a *****. Expect to be treated like a *****. |

Being AFK or not doesn't mean anything if the gankers are willing to kill miners blindly.
Let's consider there are several types of gankers:
Type I Ganker - Bot Hunting Ganker These are the most friendly gankers you will find. They do their homework as they usually try their best to avoid attacking innocent miners. They are also the most economical sort of gankers as they sometimes have limited resources and don't want to waste resources hitting the wrong target. Usually talking to them helps keep you off their sights.
Type II Ganker - Casual Ganker These people tend to be somewhat lacking in doing their own homework. And if they do, it's usually for the sake of exploiting the weakness of a miner. Sometimes, their intentions are ISK driven (being rewarded for killing miners - Hulkageddon). In other times, they kill their targets for the sake of claiming a belt for their own operations.
Type III Ganker - Career Ganker They have resources that can sustain their prolonged operations and they don't give a rat's ass as to whether a miner is a bot user or a real player. Their reasons are practically clear: They want the drops you leave behind on your wrecked ship, they want to corner or manipulate the market, or they feel that mining is such a lowly profession that anyone who thrives on mining should be wipped out from the face of New Eden. Reasoning with these people is like an Atheist trying to reason with a Televangelist. Not gonna work. At. All. |

I don't hate AFK mines, but there fools to do it. I don't have to respect them for not playing. Its dose make me sad that they give good hard playing low-sec/WH minners a bad rap. I am in Factional Warfare. Have been from day one.-á-áI will never work for a mega corp in null-sec. Do not make FW like null-sec.-áMake FW worth our time. Reword us for what we already do.Give us some more activities to do. |

Survival tip: if you only mine in cheap t1 barges, suicide ganking becomes uneconomical and you will most likely be left alone. Yea point noted. Been thinking about going back to converter
Yeah, try mining with four hulks and an orca and tell me you can go AFK. |

OP, what you are talking about in your original post is not what you claim it to be, thus making your question about subject in question pretty much invalid. We cannon answer you correctly and to your liking when you ask "hey guys, WTF is wrong with earth being square???!!". |
