Check this out -> Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music. Fitting name as well ;p. Personally for me I love psy-trance, goa-trance, morning trance, and ambient trance. The trippier the better.

Hey there,
There are many diffrent types of trance and techno these days, I am a big fan of both myself. I started mainly with comercial trance/techno such as sandstorm but as I got more into the scene I found some incredible DJ's and tunes for this genre. For single tracks I look on WWW.HTFR.COM and browse the techno and trance sections to listen to the mp3 samples and to see upto date trance/techno charts.
The best trance/techno DJ I have heard recently has got to be Eddie Halliwel who plays live on radio 1 on saturday nights and can be found here: Eddie Halliwell The best producer I have heard recently is a guy called Dave Clarke, check out this track that he produced its called the wolf and is quite a nice techno track. Im currently well into Trance so anything you need to know about trance just send me a mail in game. Im a ex club DJ so I know where to find alot of dance music and some very specific genres.
Cheers

It depends what you're looking for, honestly... start with Ishkur's guide and see where you end up.
Goa is always loads of fun if you can find the good stuff.
I suggest you download some of Ryysa's trance mixes, especially Monday Morning, Seasons, Beautiful Day, etc; they're very well-done.

di.fm is my source for mixes and everything only, it has a good variety there of various speeds and styles.
Ones to look out for would be ATB, BT, Scooter, and Daft Punk, in my opinion.

Youtube is great for finding songs and look into new music in my opionion.
Some of the artists i can really reccomend to listen to is Marco V and DJ Jean, both are pretty much awesome.
Also give Yoji Biomehanika, Showtek, Blademasterz, Deepack, DJ Promo a try. They all do great Hardcore/hardstyle.
Check out Armin Van Buuren, 4 Strings etc for some really good trance.
When it comes to house, Felix da Housecat, Laidback Luke are sure bets.
That's all i can throw right out of the head at this moment..

Anything featuring Ink, Dylan, Loxy, Dom & Roland, Stakka, Skynet, Fierce, Ed Rush, or Optical is automatic win. That is, of course, if you love an intelligent drumline and brain-melting bass.
Future Sounds of London and Chicane top my list if you prefer something to chill out to.

Nice again, bit too hyped though...

Past few years being crap is an understatement...
Quote: yoji biomehanika (again, the older tracks > the newer ones)
Never really liked much of anything from this guy, however, opinion is subjective and I know plenty of people who did.

Edited by: Ryysa on 16/11/2007 11:51:02 David Guetta is deffo not trance.
Deepdish remix of "The World Is Mine" could be considered close to trance, but isn't trance.
Most people really don't know any artists from the trance genre. While Club/Dance/House are all types of EDM, they are not trance nor techno. And are generally heavily frowned upon by Trance or Techno enthusiasts as commercial bull**** music, which is so responsible for the former two getting a bad name as kiddie music.
I bet most of you wouldn't even stand listening to real techno... Check some Sven Vath mixes or something. I personally much prefer trance/hardtrance/progressive house/DnB to other types of EDM.

Not a single artist you mentioned in your post has anything to do with techno.
