threads like these is why i enjoy killing people in eve. J.F.C ... "can i have your stuff" "you will not be missed" "noob" "haz stuff give plz"
give the man a rest, ffs. he played the game, didn't like it, he's moving. Sometimes i think people who choose to play hellokitty online are more mature than most of you lot. what are you? 12?

I would rather see Lylz stay in the game than just about any of the people who have replied, tbqfh.
Anyway, the point of me posting was to agree that the 'we have no logs' excuse is just about the lamest thing I've ever heard. I've lost dozens of ships to lag and bugs but never submitted a petition until one day I got ganked by some pirates who had camped a station with cans. I undocked, got stuck, they warped in with 5 or 6 BS and tanked the sentries for the 20 seconds it took to kill me.
Long story short - "We would give you your ship back because that's an exploit, but we can't tell because we don't have logs"
What in the wide wide world of sports is that supposed to mean? Am *I* supposed to keep logs? Do they actually log anything ever? Or do they just delete them 'cos disk space is soooooo expensive these days?
I didn't throw a tanty and threaten to leave. But I've spent a lot of time since then setting up a trader character so I can pay my accounts with ISK instead of RL money with about 5 minutes work a day.
Seriously, if they only keep logs for like 10 seconds, the very least they could do is have a 'keep a record of what just happened' button so players can flag certain loggings as perhaps being worth keeping.

Unfortunate that you got screwed but how can you say the system is fail if you only have one instance with which to judge it by? And why didn't you petition the dozens of other losses?

I think what Prism X was hinting at there is that Lylz petitions were rude/demanding/abusive/told a different story to the one that's been painted in this thread. Wouldn't be the first time someone told porky pies about their interactions with GM's on the forums now, would it?

Edited by: Disco Flint on 17/11/2007 08:44:27 What were you doing in that mission if your Myrmiddon can't even tank it for 45 seconds? And seriously, wouldn't you rather shoot the rats first with a tank that fragile before wandering off to loot?
And why try it again and again with the same approach that got you killed before and before?
Sounds to me like you either lagged or your pc froze for a bit, both problems not on the CCP end, both not verifiable by CCP. Would it be fairer if people got ships back they probably didnt even have in the first place just by whining loud enough? How could CCP know if they're lying or telling the truth if the logs show nothing? Would it be fair if only YOU got such a special treatment?
And be a bit nicer when you want something from people and you might just get a response that's not ... wait, you actually threatened the GM to leave EVE and reactivate your WoW account if your demands for a special, preferred and not at all fair service were not met? Oh damn that just made my day :D

I really don't understand people who when seeing that something doesn't quite work go ahead and do that same thing second, third, and even fourth and fifth time. I think the most blatant case of this was a post I read long time ago made by some newbie who kept jumping in a cruiser into the same gate camp over and over again and then came to complain on forums about getting killed each time. There was also that guy in my old alliance who kept jumping into different 0.0 pipe systems without scouting or checking the map, and after ending up in a cloning vat he expressed his acute indignation on the matter in alliance chat on each occasion. Then there is this guy who flies exact same ship into the exact same mission where the ship didn't work and got promptly killed not just twice but three times. Whatever they are smoking when they do this must be some pretty potent stuff ...

Listen mate. If it's sympathy you're looking for, you won't be getting any from anyone, so drop the posting and quit already.
1. You did something stupid and lost three ships. 2. You petitioned and they rejected your petition. 3. You were rude to them and tried to coerce them into doing what you wanted. Didn't work. 4. You posted petitions on the forum hoping for community support and sympathy. Didn't work. 5. You've posted repeatedly that you're quitting and yet you are still haunting this thread.
You have lost and Darwin has won, accept it and move on.

I've been playing for about a year, and I've played almost daily for most of that time. Aside from daily scheduled one hour downtimes, extended downtimes for patch deployments, and server trouble that tends to happen in the 24 hour or so after a patch (or a few days after a major expansion), there's been maybe 3-4 total instances at most of server trouble over this last year.
