Ahistaja GoonFleet GoonSwarm	Posted - 2007.11.17 23:24:00 - [91] Normally when a director yells at a corp about stopping being soft carebears and showing up on ops more, it's usually because they are under a threat and/or losing fleet battles, POSses and systems to the enemy (a la RISE). In this case however, they are criticized for being carebears in the situation where nothing in EVE univese is a being a threat to RA, and people are turning into carebears more or less because the enemy is hiding in their hidey-holes, but attacking them outright is at the moment difficult because of long supply routes. Kind of like the difference between a coach yelling at a fat kid in PE class to toughen up, and a coach using the same language on a world champion off-season.

We do not all share the same view points. ItÆs rather unfortunate that the context of the debate and the æthread of the discussionÆ is lost in the bit part posts exposed here. My post in particular; with respect to the context at the point of posting was discussing the nature of the MCÆs business, the MCÆs perception and its future business relationships. Some within MC were arguing that BoB was more of an ally than a client. Through implication and contra proof i.e. for the mathematicianÆs æroot 2 irrational proofÆ or 'proof by contradiction'. I attempted to prove this valid fortunately or unfortunately depending on the view point, I could not due to lack of combined æallied typeÆ** operations.

No alliance in the game is immune to problems from time to time, goons have been strained and pulled out of omist, BoB was strained and pulled out of the south to name but 2. It's better to put problems on the table and discuss them than to blindly ignore them and hope that they go away. Seems to me that in those circumstances it would be far worse and would undoubtedly lead to huge problems in the future. Motivation can be a big factor in a long war and it's natural. Having that kind of die hard non stop motivation to push so hard for so long will take it out of anyone (and has nearly everyone at various points) They can listen to respected and loyal mactep and adapt, evolve and overcome. I've seen more Goon posts in a thread wardec thread from some random carebear alliance than I have seen in this thread.
