for screwing up the GD Asteroid re-spawn rate. This thread will be buried in the hour and they'll never know about it anyway. I don't even know why I'm bothering to post this damn message except I'm ****ed off at flying around for hours looking for asteroids to mine, especially since I spent a couple of years building up a char that can mine fairly well and now I'm going to dump this damn game because the Powers That Be have decided they don't want solo miners playing. So be it.
Is there a snowballs chance in HELL that someone from CCP might see this and there will be a change before I cancel my subscription,,,,,,,,,,,,hmmmm, I wonder, but I doubt it!

Theres plenty of places to mine if you think about it. Join an alliance or corp that is established somewhere in lowsec/0.0 and mine there. With some basic survival tips it's easy to live and far more enjoyable than staying in empire.
Or run your own pos in a hisec system using starbase charters, one without a station and mine away at the untouched roids.

try a 30 man mining ops in low sec with an enemy fleet preparing to warp in, then driving them off (well, oblitterating them would be a better choice of words) with a capfleet.
Now that was hillarious and we burned a lotta roids too.
Most fun i had mining in years. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Magners is now recruiting, evemail me or Dagazbo ingame.

Kernite and Omber in high-sec is very hard to find, 99% of it is macromined to pieces and what isn't will be claimed by other players who mine it like crazy. Not only that but the roids that you do find are very small, in high-sec Amarr space the Kernite roids never go beyond 3k so its hardly worth it.
I myself mine in Caldari space where Kernite and Omber are not present and there are very few macrominers where I mine and about 15 asteroid belts with plenty of Veldspar and Plagioclase to mine. Solo mining can be done easily in high-sec in the right place, but in 0.0 you will need to be a good alliance as you will need protection from rats there (although I mine in a Battleship)
You just gotta know where to look...

EDIT:
also, to solve your problem, I suggest the following remedy -
GO MINE IN A DIFFERENT SYSTEM.
try flying, I dunno, ten jumps or something. Find a nice 0.5 on the edge of the empire border territories. Barely anyone every goes there, so usually the belts are nice and full. - The game is not the problem. The problem is that you are not adapting to the game.

Ignore all the flames in this thread, I have to agree with the OP that this is a problem. However I think that alot of the time the issue is not Macro but simply popular sites.
Move around more. I have 5 different locations that I rotate around and as a result I have a pretty good selection of ore most of the time.
As to the fact you have been playing a while and are still hi sec mining, So what.
Good for you in playing the game how you want and not turning into a mindless pvp clone (he he I love stirring ) Manufacture and mining is the foundation of the game and as soon as some pvpers realise this and that this lowers the cost of their stuff the better

read the "economy report" as i recall only 6% of players are into 0.0 space CCP should start paying attention - as in, stop trying to force players into low sec and start paying some attention to high sec

The Flames don't bother, in fact they help keep the thread alive a little longer so MAYBE CCP will acknowledge this is a Nerf, Screw up, They F**Ked UP!
3 years ago when I signed up, I read an interview and read in the game description that there was purposely no leveling, and no specific choice of paths you character had to ascend to advance. That the design of the game had the intent of allowing you to play anyway you wanted and allow each player to develop there character the way they wanted.
So all these Punk Flames are mute and CCP forcing solo miners into Low Sec space to deal with Punk[pirate] PVP'ers should just be pure sacralige considering it's in stark contradiction to their original game manta(philosophy) when these types of changes force out or force a player to change their play.
Just a side note about the Flamers, It's easy to flame others that play a different aspect of this game when the change of game play by CCP doesn't affect them, but when their ship gets nerfed, or some change happens that does affect them, then they B**CH about it just a fast as they can get to the forum.
Most likely CCP has made this change because they are trying to achieve game balance (Bless their souls... seriously) and we expect them to do that when something is out of balance. However, taking a shotgun to kill a fly is a more appropriate analogy of what is occurring here considering they have more than likely made this change because of macro miners.
But this change has not eliminated the macro miners, it has made it worse. The macro miners still strip the belts in empire and there's only scraps left for the empire miner to mine. For those miners that have joined large alliances, which was the hope of CCP so that the large alliances SUCH AS RA, would have an influx of new miners, and the hope was that these large alliances would stop macro mining in 0.0 has failed. They have new miners and still continue to macro mine.
There's been a poster on this thread, that has the names of isk sellers for his signature. I have had eve mails from other isk sellers. The macro miners are of 2 types, they are either 0.0 large alliances that build titans and large cap fleets, or they are individuals working the game for real life profit. The latter are easier to catch. CCP must send out decoy's offering to sell isk and anyone caught buying must be banned. An isk seller eve mail account needs to be set up so we/I can send in names of people we/I have a chat log, or eve mail making these offers.
Large alliances are harder, they have to be infiltrated. I have been deep into RA territory and run into macro'ers out there, and it took weeks of logging off to get out there running their gates which are camped. So those macro'ers are not out there without RA's knowledge.
So maybe CCP can reconsider their position on this. Punk Flamers and RA,,,,,,Flame away,,,,,more than likely nothing will change based on this one post and I will leave the game anyway.
PS Punks,,,,,,My Stuff.............. will evaporate with my account, and it's a significant amount of stuff. Or maybe I'll sell it.

Instead of flaming the OP I'll give a reasonable suggestion.
Here is what you should do: 1) Join a corporation, 2) Pick a good mining system, 3) One by one, declare war on every corp living in the system until they leave, 4) Blow up your competition until, 5) You have a clear system.
This will require:
6) Defend your territory, 7) If you come across a corp you can't beat, merge or ally with them, 8) Can steal from macro miners.
If you want something you'll have to take it.

Actually come to think of it i have knoticed lately that belts stripped of ore dont respawn overnite like they used to. In 0.5 belts go completely empty for days alouth i first thought this was just a bug due to the server startup problems the other day. CCP does have a way of sneaking in stuff and not necessarily letting the players know about it
