Will the extra graphic content be available as an external download such as a patch? Or does it have to be downloaded within the client?
I ask this because a patch could be hosted on mirrors that don't count towards user download limits.

In addition, will the patch be available for download prior to the actual server coming up?

Not necessarily, but the devs did mention (patch notes? dev blog? I forgot the actual reference) being in contact with the main killboard maintainers, so you should be able to get an update/upgrade for your favourite killboard if it turns out to be incompatible.

Since it seems (from CCP's explanation of the patch process) that going to the new client is a one-way trip, I would recommend keeping a copy of the old install and upgrading that to Trinity Classic.
My system supports all the new eye candy, but having a client that will run with performance that may just give me the edge in a fight, especially when running 3 clients at once, could be a good idea.
Having 6 installs of EVE on my hard drive is a bit of a pain, but EVE's worth it, right? ^^
Greetings, Grismar.

Greetings, Grismar.
You can switch between the classic and premium graphic modes within the client in the graphics options settings tab in the ESC menue. No need for separate installs. ...

I'm not really interested in even shinier models and effects (and never mind the download on my capped connection), so do I need to go premium (terrible name btw) for the engine to take advantage of my GPU or not?

I Downloaded the Trinity patch through the old client shortly after if finnished being released, then when I ran the client (after th 4am danger cut off, besides I have Vista on this lappy so I'm safe anyway) once the clinet confermed my lppy was compatable with the premium I started to back ground down load that.
Once done I installed it, logged into game and was greated be the awsome graphic of my re-rendered ship and the interior of the station.
However, once I un-docked all objects outside, the station, my ship, everything but the back grounds was white, and after a few moments Vista kicked in and shut the game down, stating that my EVE.exe stopped working properly. I was able to log back in and quickly re-dock my ship before Vista could kick back in and again and shut it down, so at least I can still log in and switch skills.
Is this a corrupted file? A common glitch which has a fix? I don't want to remove EVE and down load the full premium client if mine can be corrected.
Any help would be great :)

This may be a really dumb question, but since its the week for stupid errors I thought I would just ask , given the complete and utter incompidence of CCP in their last patch and the time it has taken to semi fix also the total lack of communication for hours (which could of stopped many people from closing down their computers) and for some of us its still a problem, as their machines are in the shops being looked at or they are in bits on desks. After all this time and all this work and all this heart ache may I ask where are the new ships?

Right, have now un-installed EVE and downloaded the premium client, installed and run and I have the exact same problem as described in my previouse post. Is this Vista or is my Laptop just missing something that the compatability check failed to notice? I've herd other Vista users are having no problems so if anyone could shed some light on what I'm doing wrong? Keeps saying CCP eve Exe file failed to work properly and I can't make Vista leave it alone.

I have no issues at all on Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Sound like something specific to your machine or OS install. I would post in the support forums about your issue.

Why? Because the premium gfx aren't out for Linux/mac yet.

Add to the FAQ:
- Where is my boot.ini?
