Try not been so prediciable, also caps sux when they are left alone without support. they are ofc nice to spider tank. but they cant kill much. wildside we may be somewhat predictable, but it works for us, tell me another setup that a gang of between 30-50 can defend against 286 hostile pilots over the course of 5 hours, many of which are t2 and battleships, and we may consider using that one :) just because you see us doing similar things does not mean we are unable to do other, but that what we are doing has tested to be the most effective on the whole, and before you bash our fc's for making a mistake that word first goes to our cap pilots, including myself, who were litterally beggin them to let us go in and fight the initial pure gang, I lost mine but it was well worth it to be apart of that fight non stop for four hours straight and knowing what I know about how it turned out I probably would have done it again. how many times to people get to have fights like that in this game anymore? in my experience almost never. as well if you could see the whole fraps of the fight you might realize that 8 carriers with no support slowly but surely took out a large portion of the initial pure gang, quick responses and good tactics held us out there for alot longer then many others would be able to maintain the field. lets not forget that although we had about 30 support for the first 3 hours it was still basically our 8 or so cap pilots against multiple enemy fleets that held the field, with support mopping up any that warped off or tried to escape/return. try with 30-40 nano hacs? 40-50 spider tanking sniping battleships with some eagles/muninns/huginns/rapiers among em to deal with dictors and ceptors. warp in and out as ure warp in point get busted, have a couple of cover ops making warp in points. ect even though I understand that its not easy. but I find its sucide trowing capitals to the frontline if u are thaaat certain of been unable to hold the field. if the fight prolong more than 30min, and u lost also all ure support, I would rather just get the caps out of there...as ppl would have time to accualy specific fit to take em down/bring the numbers needed.(even they alrdy knew what was comming so u didnt even take em by suprice at the first time. but I understand and thats the most important thing to remember once u warped/cynoed in those carriers to that gate, it was no point of return unless u could kill all the tackling ships to the enemy. Was only a matter of time before they got burned. The whole blob argument is moot, sounds to me like a few carriers/mums got trapped, IRC called backup, Pure called backup, escalation, death. To give IRC grief for throwing caps away like that is also moot...those two Aeons probably don't survive if not for the carriers who threw themselves into the fight. Likewise, to give Pure/SmashKill grief for blobbing...when you have two motherships pinned, its no holds barred, you call in anyone who will come with a ship and a gun or two.

Was some very good fights and some free for alls. Was a great time and had a lot of fun besides the time i crashed and 5min waiting to log in Many skirmishes followed later into the night by smashkill and company. To the tri member about blobbing, the big fight couple days ago was in a cyno jammed system. You need alot of ships to break carrier and motherships tanks without capital ships of your own. Ive been to tri outpost system and our 5 man gang got repelled by 15 and more by the minute. im not saying we dont blob im saying we DO fight outnumbered. Pure took a gang to Intrepid Space, much like you do. Intrepid did what they often do and put several carriers/motherships on the front line which is both a brave thing and a stupid thing, honestly, it's often frustrating because a small gang simply can't kill 13 carriers purely because of remote reps. So it was said in intel, 'Pure have carriers+motherships tackled, lets go kill them' of course people jumped at this chance, who doesn't like killing capitals. Now we have the luxury of being blue to a few peeps with quite a lot of members, so naturally when a fight does go down there should and probably will be numbers. Killing spider tanked carriers in a cynojammed system is quite difficult, so what can you do to stop it? Well you can damp them, sure, what if they are sat 0km from each other and are locked? Well I guess you could ECM them, but who brings the damage? Well that means you need more numbers right? When it comes down to it this is a game where numbers are 'overpowered' in the sense that having more people is so beneficial. Your baseless statement of "if we don't have at least 2-1, don't engage" kind of angers me a little actually, mainly because it's bullshit. Many a time have I been in a gang where we have been severly outnumbered and jumped in anyway, it's not as if we sit and go 'OMGZ THEY HAVE 2 GYZ NEED 4 PEEPS 2 X UP TK ILL THEM' what does happen is 'X up to kill these 2 guys', inevitably more than 2 people will x up purely because we are a large alliance/coalition/whatever. You probably see it more because of the few ways there are to counter nanos, you pretty much just need Huginns/Rapiers otherwise it's better to not engage, or you can bring a lot more people so that speed tanking is null. Like you said though, each to their own, I don't care if you bring nanos or motherships.
