Edited by: Moloc on 24/11/2007 04:06:13 lag is hideous... trying to put a bubble within 50km of the spot you mean to is damn hard.
On the other hand I jumped next door and spent 5 minutes logging in again.

We must have killed 100 fighters, the lag wasn't too bad until after several hundred wrecks littered the screen :o
In the end most of our dictors incl mine had run out of bubbles :(
2 Aeons got out. :\
6-7 carriers killed without any of our own caps was still quite nice, especially with them in and out of triage mode.
Lots of loot to be had at the end :)
Though I didn't lose or get any...
Without the cyno jammer the fight would have been brief, but instead it was pretty epic.
The mails were pretty epically truncated too :o

Edited by: Shardrael on 24/11/2007 05:00:46 Edited by: Shardrael on 24/11/2007 04:57:37 our KB shows 6 carriers lost
about 104 hostiles killed 40 losses including carriers.
fight was over 4 hours long, started with us engaging pure and then either you guys got lucky and happened on us while that fight was winding down or more likely you got called for support. Either way it matters not, massive sub capital losses on our enemies sides massive cap losses on ours.
GREAT FIGHT!!!!(other then the massive desync for the last two hours of it) this is the reason I fly carriers and that is the best fleet fight I have had in a while if not ever, if you guys enjoyed it and feel the need to smack us for brining the fight then have at it, from my point of view that fight is why I pay a subscription.
see ya all in space.
edit: one correction afaik we did not have a single carrier in triage. dont know why anyone would enter triage mode in this game cept recharging station services

Official accounting:
Pure 35-40 Man gang comes for D-IZ, we know they are fitting dampners.
We have 25-30ish, 8 carriers. We gather and decide WTF, lets go get them.
Battle ensues, our battle fitted carriers do pretty well, takes a long time, almost an hour. We push to the 89 gate as Pure numbers start to dwindle. As the fight goes on it is clear Pure aren't leaving and sure enough RK/Smash/Chaos/Atlas show up. 10 here, 20 there and over time local gets to 185. 47 IRC, 140 enemy. They wisely brought tons and I do mean tons of dampning and eware. The first 90 minutes were easily in our favor with our battle set carriers (webs and scrams) taking out target after target. Two of our MSes showed up and started to assist during all of this.
Unfortunately, with their numbers climbing and our carriers and MSes desyncing one of our carriers warped to a wreck instead of the station which set into motion a bad set of cirumstances for us. Carriers started warping but the enemy were able to keep us from monkey tanking the primary. The threshhold was reached and the bad part about battle fitting carriers (with scrams and webs) was that the tank suffers.
At this point our only goal was to get the MSes out and after relogging both Motherships, Both had severely Desynced, we got them out.
We lost 7 insured carriers (we always insure carriers) to overwhelming force. Kudos to Pure, R0ADKill, Smash, Chaos Incarnate and Atlas alliances for perseverance and scrambling the troops. I am not sure how many you gave up to kill our carriers but I will work on a count.
Good fights, and I mean this sincerely, every one of our carrier pilots (including me who lost one) said it was the best fighting they have ever had in game. We accept every carrier loss knowing it was in defense of the homelands and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Well done for a truly epic 4 hour battle.

Shardrael, much respect to you guys for ALWAYS being willing to bring your carriers to the front lines, it makes for great excitement. Good job getting your moms out. Not sure why after 2.5 hours of constant battle our guys couldnt have found a few more dictors.
Anyway, glad you guys enjoyed it too.

We kept getting that some carriers were not damp-able... (obviously the Aeons were not for other reasons)...
Didn't see any smack in local, from anyone... or in this thread... I think everyone was busy. :o

Edited by: Shardrael on 24/11/2007 05:11:01 ahh yeah if bloods is missing then the count is 7 lost, and yeah dont know what to tell ya on the undampable stuff but if you were as desynced as I was during that fight that would explain it. cant tell you how many ships I could have locked down and killed 3k off me but my warp scram wouldnt activate :(
anyhoo thats it for my posting before someone gets mad at me :(
nice fight and see ya in space.
edit: kronos if you guys had any more damn dictors there I might think you were given a t20 bpo (total joke btw )

Going forward, IRC members please keep this smack free, it isn't what we are about, the fight was great. In fact, that fight almost renewed my belief that real fights can take place in EVE.
Good stuff all involved.

I believe the desync, as a dictor Pilot I also desynced and was asked why I was dropping bubbles 50km from the Aeon when I was infact on my screen right on it, jumped out of system then back in and relogged a process which took about 25 mins :(
Quote: We lost 7 insured carriers (we always insure carriers)
No offense, but you can't really 'know' that aside from your own unless they were corp insured. And the fighters / officer fits most certainly were not insured ;)
KB is currently showing 16 carriers + 2 Aeons, (haven't 'confirmed' all of those as you know sometimes mails bug). + 34 support vs 145 totals on mails (although there are truncations, pretty sure my dictor got on no mails, depsite alot of bubbling and fighter popping ;) )
In the end despite being 0m from the aeon and having a basillisk on me, I ran out of bubbles with more just a few jumps out. :\ Not sure about the other dictor pilots if there were any left. The new heavy dictors will make this much easier in the future.

Sounds like it was a great fight. One that I know we have been hoping for over the last few weeks. Damn shame I wasn't able to be online (Damn Turkeyday). Mad props to IRC, it has been a blast fighting you guys so far and I can only hope that it gets even better.
p.s. I guess Thrawntl's 9 lives finally ran out. That dude should have lost his thanny like a month ago when we got that irc thanatos in a belt ratting.

All of our carriers are corp insured and their replacements which were handed to them after the fight were as well.

I know KB links aren't allowed but we have most of ours posted and this gives reasonable accounting.
Some of the enemy numbers are inflated by our own carriers drones attacking reping targets.

"The new heavy dictors will make this much easier in the future."
Not really, they have to be right on top of the MS and will die very quickly.
30km scram range, and they can move vs the 20km bubbles from dictors that die to smartbombs and don't move ?
That Aeon would have gone down if I hadn't run out of bubbles, I was 0km on him and able to do nothing but bump :( (started with full cargo)... A heavy dictor won't need such 'ammo' it can just sit there.... (or infact 'move' with the MS scrambling script NOT giving it the downsides the 'bubble' script does.)
Granted they will be primaried at every oppertunity, but by the time I got to the fight the only real threat came from the caps themselves. By the time it reached the critical point (caps popping) There was no threats to the dictors left, plenty of remote repping available, we were just short bubbles. - A T2 large would have been nice also :o
Still, that was pretty epic. We need more bridges down your way, that was much further than I'm used to travelling :o

The battlereports on this killboard software are also going to be abit odd, because they only list each pilot once per side even if they lost multiple ships.
Not to mention all the laggy conditions / auto targeting meaning there are many many people on BOTH sides of killmails :o
