Damn someone just beat me to the punch about Babylon 5.
Here's a better comparison. Homeworld 2 tech to EVE tech, who would win?

yay for babylon 5, the only one that actually tried to be hard sci fi (well untill firefly) ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |

The nerd in this thread is weak, noones mentioned Babylon 5 ships yet
Omega class Destroyer, on par with EVE battleships in fire power but its 8-10 meter thick plate far out classes most EVE ships, Enterprise D would destroy it but it would mangle the Galactica with ease, also on par with a star destroyer,
Omega X class, A standard Omega class ship fitted with shadow tech, Its fusion beams would rip apart the Enterprise D and any ship from EVE, ISD wouldn't stand a chance either and its bio armor plus its 8-10 meter armor plate would prove resilient to any attacks from any of these ships.
Those are 2 of Earth forces commonly used fleet ship and are not exceptional by B5 standards, Ships like the Dark star and shadow and Vorlon ships nothing really compares except maybe Lexx.

Homeworld 2, no doubt. Its battleships have like 20 guns, eve's battleships has 8. Go figure.

The Lexx vs Enterprise - X, any StarDestroyer and EVE Ships....
Stanley > Lexx are there any sex slave on those ships? Lexx > I believe there is one or two on the Eve ships Stanley. Picard > Stop that non sense! This is a pacific federation. Eve Pilot > Noob!!! Eat My POD... ... > I am your father Stanley! Give me the Key!
Stanley > Lexx blow up that mess and lets find a strip club. Lexx > Yes Stanley.

the biggest/most powerfull ships you could build in HW2 were the Higaran battlecruisers, they had 2x daul Ion beam, I think a couple regular Ions, and like 4 pulsar cannons for deffence.
The Point defence systems mod for that game on the other hand... yeah if anyone else played that you try to describe it, I can't. ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |

Agreed, species 8472 where powerful but not that powerful, They only proved resilient to the Borg due to the fact that to learn about something the Borg need to assimilate it and they could not do this with species 8472 so they could not figure out how to defeat them, and in the end all it took was a simple adjust of existing nanotechnology to send them packing.

Lexx, Now that was a great series. So many classic moments, so very cheesy, like Spaceballs only... worse.
Kai: "The dead do not poo"
Kai: "I killed mothers with their babies. I've killed great philosophers, proud young warriors, and revolutionaries. I've killed the evil, the good, the intelligent, the weak, and the beautiful. I have done this in the service of His Divine Shadow and his predecessors, and apparently the fun never ends!"
Zev: "What kind of robot are you?" 790: "I am a robot that wants to live in your underpants."
790: "29 hours of necrophilia-filled fun!"
Lexx: "I am the Lexx. The most powerful destructive weapon in the two universes. Stanley Tweedle is my captain. I blow up planets for him."
Lexx: "Distress, distress.. I am being penetrated..."
I could go on... but I probably shouldn't. -------- EVE Trinity: THE SKY IS FALLING! |

Either way, when someone from Star Trek, starts pointing adjective beams at you, you might as well pack up and go home, since its all over for you.

The Enterprise would win eventually based on the sheer number of tribles that would fill up the enemies ships. All you need in one trible and some feed. Stick it in an enemy rifter and let it dock, thats one space station down.

At least there wasn't the blob in Star Trek! When ships went boom, the warp core breached and there was a MASSIVE M/A reaction.
We need ship explosions to cause damage in EVE!

I'd count the Dominion+Cardasians+Breen VS Federation+Klingons+Romulans as a pretty big blob war ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |

I did find it amazing the first time I read the Star Wars Vs. Star Trek comparison that someone could write something that long and detailed, and fail the realize that entire time that the comparison is invalid as they are two different universes. -

true but he's actually pretty accurate, most of the stuff is based on observed phenomemon within the shows and movies, and then estimating the forces involved, the B5 tech site is even more accurate in that regard.
But basically yeah they are two seperate universes with observed phenomena that would be physically impossible IRL and in eachother, so the comparison is somewhat skewed.
B5 still kicks both their asses though, where the trek universe has a tech base thats ~300 years beyond our own, and the starwars has a tech base ~2000 years ahead, the ancients in B5 are about 2 billion years ahead
and of course none of it matters because it's all pretend. ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |

now just plug in the numbers representing EVE-O ships. that should help give an idea of scale. not really power, but bigger ships are usually to be feared :)

Pfft, Voyager even with 25th century armor/technology is weak. In that same episode, the Borg still managed to damage it.
Simply put:
Strongest: Enterprise D/E (speed messes up all Dread guns, and all those damn treknobabble terms can kill a ship all on it's own. And you know if you destroy it, somebody in the future will fix it all.) Borg Andromeda Acendant (Andromeda) Dreadnought Battlestar Galactica (Kinda of a tie, the Galactica is like a carrier with really large guns. And it has that oh so sexy FTL) Voyager Firefly (it's not even armed) Weakest
I didn't include those ships I never heard of.
