coincidence. the line length was cropped because i was sending it from my iPhone whilst my Lawyers had me on hold.
Good news for all my fellow litigants, i received a grovelling reply from CCP, tantamount to an admission of negligence...

we've got them on the run, clearly. I'm now considering which country to sue them in. I understand the USA in particular will be sympathetic to the PAIN and ANGUISH we've suffered.

Edited by: Yun Mishara on 07/12/2007 12:04:44 Snakebloke: Crysis utilizes DX9 an all systems except for Vista; not that IĘm going to compare EVE to Crysis but seeing as how you made a point out of it. The main difference between DX9 and DX10 are that the latter feature a new driver model in Vista and supports Shader Model 4.
I have worked with my fair share of artists and even one or two 3D artists. The quality of the work is alike all creative fields exceedingly dependent on the individual who produced it; the majority of artists are simply incapable of producing the quality of work that is cutting-edge in todayĘs games.
Seeing as how you obviously do not have the basic understanding of technical aspects and limitations of games that are produced today (see the first paragraph); you are likely to fall under this category.
Tobias Sjodin: I find it funny how you categorize me as ōthe more vocal part of the EVE-communityö and proceed with your rant and flaming of any- and everyone who does not share your specific views and opinions on the subject.
This is my first thread on the forums and as far as attention is concerned; IĘd rather you didnĘt post in this thread if you are unable to keep the discussion on a civil level, on-topic and deter from any and all flaming.
I would expect you to be especially appreciative of this as your statements in your last post essentially make you a hypocrite.
Edit. Text correction

Originally by: Yun Mishara Edited by: Yun Mishara on 06/12/2007 12:16:45 I downloaded the Trinity patch and the premium content last night after the servers came back up and proceeded to boot up the game. My first impressions were sadly very disappointing; I was expecting exceptional quality and "future proof" graphics having seen the trailers from CCP but instead all models/texturing turned out to be less than average quality for a game released at this point in time.
Below is an album containing a few screenshots showing of some horrible texturing, so horrid in fact that I'm unsure as to if it is supposed to look this way. The screenshots can be downloaded to view them at the full 2560x1600 resolution they were captured in.

Apart from the overall low-quality texturing and awful shaders the new ship models also have noticeably low polygon count which makes all curved surfaces look edgy and unsmooth when viewed up close.
The screenshots were captured on my computer running Windows XP on a C2D E6600, GeForce 8800GTX (Forceware 163.71), 2GB DDR2 at 2560x1600 (4xFSAA/16xAF/HDR-off/Normal shadows).
Edit. Fixed link
lol stfu, graphics are awesome.

Personally I dislike the faux-metal textures. The normal mapping looks fugly, especially on the Raven.
However, Trinity is the better client of the two.

lol
i'd like to see all of you yawning about ugly textures, playing the game in a fight with 100 or more ships on screen. Even with the current so called "low quality" textures and poly counts i think you'll need a crysis like hardware.
with better textures game could be unplayable with the best sli-graphic computers...
they could however offer some options in settings (video). like Texture quality (low, medium, high, ultra high) so players have an option, depending on if they fight with 100 ships or only 1vs1 and depending on their computer strenght.
besides that i'm also missing some of the standard options like anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing,... maybe even model detail, but i think that might be a bit too much if it took 50man year to remodel all the models in high quality.

Jesus !!!! The whining on these forums is getting to a point where is it funny.
My guess is, that no matter how a good job CCP did, the whiners would contiune to whine. aarrrg !! Pixel error !!!
What I find must funny is the whiners apparent love for EVE. Their entire world simply croumbles, if EVE isn't as they expected. And their only known response. Whine ! I'll can only read this an abnormal and unhealthty love for EVE and CCP.
So everytime you get tired of all the whining, as I do, just feel sorry for the poor whiners. They are actually whining out of misplaced love

Personally, I think the new graphics rock.
There is one issue that's worrying me. I get a bit of lag as the graphics are loaded just before approaching a gate... BAD IN LOWSEC. If it lags with a few Concord ships at a gate, what is it going to do in fleet battles?????

ry ry:
Fantalistic, selfdestructing whiners: Making posters saying "EVE is DEAD" and threats about suing CCP is about as selfdestructive as they can get. Seems like you are crying for help with your EVE addiction. "please, please let EVE die, and CCP go under, so I can get my life back".
Question: Do you really think people care about your EVE problems, when all your doing is really trying to do is finding a way out ?
Legal advice: If you really a serious about suing CCP, you should really stop posting on the forum. Your posts could easily be used against, like for example your motivation for suing, just to name one. Get my point?

no, all the money i'd paid for eve ever .
i did some rough calculations and it came to thirty nine thousand USD, including a number of punitive charges for the pain endured as a result of the textures not living upto my expectations.
