Posted - 2007.12.10 15:38:00 - [351] hey so I heard that back before RISE moved out of Outer Ring, they told themselves that they had to kick the local plex-farming corp out of the old Serpentis 10/10 in A2V there and if they couldn't deal with a group of a half-dozen characters or so then it would prove that they weren't ready for sovereign 0.0 they never removed that plex-farming corp and it didn't leave until some Russians moved in and forced them out so RISE had nothing to do with it c/d?

Actualy it was Bob Alts faming that plex .. and Rise didnt want Bob coming down on them for disrupting it ..i dunno about any russians forcing them out ?

No, they weren't BoB alts. They were paying per-run rent to BoB, yes (originally he was going independent but EVOL came by and smacked his **** up, hence the arrangement), but they were their own thing otherwise. I actually know the guy who was doing it. And yeah, eventually he just more or less left because the Russian team was causing him too many hassles in classic Russian plex-team style (i.e. unlimited escalation of force until the current owning party cannot cope). Wasn't a huge deal because he had sunk tons of that isk he had made from the plexing into t2 BPOs and, later, invention infrastructure. He went on to take a lead pipe to the Hulk market after they fixed invention for them, and now he just sorta lazes about with his countless billions of isk finding new and creative ways to grief people in empire.

I'd go post some of the RISE logs about "oh noes we must drive out the a2v isk farmers", but they're on my home system and I'm currently typing this from a hotel room. If I remember when I get home, I'll try to go dredge them up - looks like they're dated around mid-December '06. Anyways, moral of the story for the slow - last Christmas RISE told themselves that if they couldn't deal with a half-dozen characters running one of the plexes in their space, they weren't fit for the 0.0 big time. They then proceeded to fail miserably at removing said characters, went on to Feyth...and lo, their initial prophecy came so very, very true.
