It seems like more then half of the posts in the EVE forums are attacks of some sort against CCP. I know that now is a bad time to judge the positive: negative ratio due to the patch, but it seems even during peace time (No random unnecessary nerfs on the horizon) EVE has become a place where a large percentage of the players seem to FEED on attacking its developers and staff in some way or another.
What kind of picture do you think it paints for potential new players exploring EVE on its forums? I have never played another PC MMOà are other MMO forums like this?

Seems to me CCP needs to pay more attention to what is fun, and not necessarily what is ôbalancedö. Not to be another player tossing fuel on the fire, but I have been playing for 3 years now, and over those years I have never seen the fun BEAT out of the game as hard as it has in the last 6 months. It is sad really.

There will always be the people who see every error CCP make as the end of the world and just incite Anti-CCP hatred. Theres even been people calling for CCP to fire who-ever was responsible for the inicident but anyway the forums of any MMO paint a negative image of its player base, just more so with eve right now... _______________________________________________

I actually remember when this forum was not so bad , in 2005.
I think the reasons this might be is:
1. Easy access to alts. 2. We only have one server, meaning a boost/nerf is hotly debated and tempers rise. 3. Goons .
Say no to knee-jerk additions and nerfs, mmkay? |

Before the Trinity Expansion this was a informative and fun board to visit ... now it seems like all the WoW players got bored and headed on over.
really tired of the complaining.

If you find idiots ranting amusing then yes... Personaly I'm starting to find all the anti-CCP threads boring now. Even the WoW forums are better than here in that respect, over in WOW the devs don't have any comunication with their player base so we don't see the type of personal attacks we get here. _______________________________________________

It's ironic that you post this with your sig, which was born out of a thread that bashed CCP to oblivion, and called for the dismissal of a dev
But you're right about the fun thing, the game seems to be becoming a second job to a lot of people.

I have to agree with Andrews, when i go heare every night for the past week it makes me not want to play the game anymore. People are saying that EVE is dying, CCP suck, this needs to be nerfed..... But then when i actualy play the game its not nearly as bad and broken as the forums lead you to believe.

The fact that the EVE-O Fora have a continually worsening signal to noise ratio simply shows that CCP is successfully marketing the game to the general public. -

Could it be possible that the forums are very busy with players unable to play the game, and not really having any idea what is going on, it seems a natural place to look for clues.
Or simply put - maybe the forum positive players are playing the game, like most of the current posters would rather be doing
I know where I'd rather be tonight!

It's mostly the never ending repetition of last month's whine that gets me, and the idiotic overused memes and idiotic phrases like "made of win", "that wins the thread", "you win good sir" "win", etc.

To answer your first question, NO! Go check out any MMO forum right before or after a big content changing patch.

Possibly, but since CCP is the worst MMO company when it comes to listening to members, nerfs, bugs, unneeded new time sinks. I'd say we have a right to be negative, they've turned the best game in the world, into something SOE couldn't match in sillyness.

I loved this game so much i used to be a fanboi, a mean fanboi too, "you dont like it? go to wow fracking ****"
But now? CCP has lost all respect i had for them, to me they are right up there with SOE/EAgames, as likely candidates for the antichrist.

LOL, I just look at those kind of posts as CCP marketing damage control posts. Anyone familiar with corporate advertising knows that it is not uncommon for a company to have individuals who are actually responsible for creating multiple forum accounts to post positively on their products.
I would not be surprised if 1/3 of the smiley fan boy posters, were actually 3 people sitting at CCP with a spreadsheet of accounts.

Lol thats why i call them ovuer's alts. I had a whole semester of marketing classes "slept through it all, thank god my girl friend was in the same classes"
But the day i was awake and listening, was when we talked about game companies paying people to talk them up on forums.
