So, why did a GM have to come in, instapop me and a m8... then ask us to report it. I highly doubt the 'bug' was on MY side.

Dunno. Maybe just how the system works. Bureaucracy FTW! Like they needed to verify that the bug was real by blowing you up then need you to officially start a Bug Report for the record so they can put it on the list of things to do.
Dunno really...just fishing here. I got nothing.

Maybe he is just trying to blow people cause hes a dork.
Maybe i am wrong but shouldn't the GMs me handling the massive back log of petitions related to implants that were lost, *including my full set of crystals* And maybe the back log of POS destruction?
But no shooting people on test server is def what we need.

I stand corrected then.

The test server isn't really supposed to be the place where you can go when you want to have free for alls and free ships, it's supposed to be the TEST SERVER.
You know, where they try to find bugs before they go live, or reproduce live bugs to come up with fixes.
Bottom line, it's open to the public as a little nicety on CCP's part, they could rather easily close it to the general public and make it a BH and CCP staff only server, but they let people (the ones that do something other than sit in FFA trying to kill each other) help solve problems.
Anyhow, just my two cents.

The Devs / Bug Hunters can do whatever they want to be able to reproduce an eventually bug.
I remember long time ago on sisi when i had a Megathron Federate Issue, and when Sharkbait (Dev) wanted me to help him with something. Then i said yes to that. And warped to where Sharkbait was, and when i had warped into the place, then Sharkbait h4xed my Mega Federate Issue down to 200 armor, and had a Kestrel with 8x Citadel Launchers, and started to shoot me
You can probably guess what happened? , no i didn't lose the ship, because Sharbait didn't take much damage with no bonuses to Citadel torps in a Kestrel.
He had to take my Mega Federate Issue and trash it and give me a new one, since he couldn't h4x it back to the normal armor hp lol .
Anyways, ooooooh nooooooes, you got killed on sisi. Now if your DAMN lazy i can understand you that you wont fit up a new ship for free. But if not, then you should not make topics like this on the EVE forum, since it doesn't help you with ANYTHING. it can in the worst case make it worser than it is.

On one hand, it's the test server, so these things can be expected.
On the other, it would be nice if the devs announced they were testing for these sorts of things before hand. You know, a post in local along the lines of: "We're actively testing for bugs. If something strange happens to you, please give us a detailed report of what happened."

Most companies have test servers open to public, there is no reason to have a test server not open to public, unless you have a huge in house QA team, which, we all know CCPs is the worst in industry, it is now ccp being nice to us it, is ccp needing us.

Epic failure on this one.... Even if it was the test server.. if someone from CCP came and popped me w/o warning with an exploit then told me to petition it so it would be added to the list.. I'd tell him where to stick it. Unless CCP staff is too incompetent to actually be able to add their own bug reports and must instead rely on players to find the bugs for them and report them before anything gets done..

Could it be a little payback for you and your 'm8' agreeing to 1v1 people, then the other guy comes in and ganks the unsuspecting victim? I know if I was a 'bughunter', I'd give you and a few other choice monkey-faced individuals reasons to 'file a bug report' for the l0lz.
Cry more for having to refit a ship for nearly nothing on the test server. Your emo tears only make Techn0Viking stronger. |

Get your facts straight before you start rambling. I, nor anyone I've flown with, have never done that on the test server.
Testing bugs is fine, but a little warning would be nice. The 'bughunter' or whoever never said anything in local or to me directly till my "wtf is that s**t" reaction in local. Then, all the sudden, oh I should be filling a bug report. Lame eithe way you look at it IMHO.

Then don't go on the test server, it's that simple, jeez. The only lame thing here is your OP. |

Ummm... GMs don't do testing. It was a QA guy who popped you most likely (although the request for a bug report is quite strange.) If this is the case (that a QA guy popped you) who cares? He's there to test the game, and when you log on you tacitly agree to help him.

Why is it such a big deal you lost about 2k when the insurance you got losing that ship gave you about 50m...? -----sig-starts-here------ Ok I need a new sig so...

To me the big deal is the "bug tester" employed by ccp, and paid by ccp. Is telling the customer to file a bug report, about a bug the PAID employee obviously knew about before it happened. So i must ask you, are you not a little bit curious why a bug hunter cant post his own bug reports? Do you see why this patch is the buggiest of all time in the history of games?

Bug Testers are paid?
They're not? Then this would be the only gaming company in the history of the world, not to have Bug testers / Q&A on staff.
But then again, look at our patch. Maybe they dont, might explain alot.

The Bug Hunters are part of ISD and are volunteers who help our (paid) QA department test issues on Serenity. Asking players to file bug reports about problems encountered on the live (as well as test) servers is standard practice in the MMORPG industry. Even our largest competitor asks its players to file bug reports when they encounter issues.
