Edited by: Lord Zap on 12/03/2004 14:52:28 Today I did a little test whereby I ventured into Torrinos in a frigate to see if it was safe for me to do so in my battleship. I was pleasantly suprised when neither Concord or the Caldari Naval scum targetted me. So, thinking I am safe I went and got my battleship and entered Torrinos....
As soon as I loaded I got the message "Lord Zap, you have entered Caldari space blah blah it will not be tolerated" So, with a little quick thinking and help from some EVolution players I managaed to get out in one piece. But, I am still more than a little ****ed off considering I had tested the system out in a frigate beforehand. Makes no sense at all.
Does anyone know wtf is up with this?

That does suck.... i guess concord and the sentries didn't expect you to fly in, in a shuttle, so they ignored you, thinking it was an imposter.....
A lil IC explanation, but for real, that sucks....

yeah Lord Zap's a bad character, and by Bad I mean shouldn't have been alowed to do what he did.
Still if it was a bug he should be repayed any losses. If it wastn't then I guess Concord is smarter, though frigs can cause some serious damage if done right so wht would they ignore one. I get ignoring a shuttle, but Lord Zap is the kinda jerk charatcer that would shoot at noobs in noob ships in like New Caldari...so they should have blown up that jerk water character when he came in the first time. |

Edited by: Lord Zap on 12/03/2004 14:59:38 Indeed it doesnt make any sense. If Polaris can get clarification on whether this is normal AI (i hope not) or whether the AI is b0rked, Id be most appreciative.

Perhaps CONCORD has been given some improved AI, in that they may not consider shuttles and frigates (for example) threatening enough to gank. While a battleship on the other hand...
Dunno if this is the case, but would sort of make sense I guess. Vaguely remember suggestions to this effect being aired in some part of the forum.

Any one who is still talked about for the low, underhanded, pathetic, nasty, and horrible actions (charatcer not the person) gets two things.
1. Props for being so well known, I was playing when Lord Zap threw his hands up and said he would quit, so I never got the pleasure of spitting at him :/
2. kick in the pants for giving pirates a bad name. *kick*
It is so easy to not lose sec rateing in such a way that concord kills you on site. You work on the game Lord Zap, how can you be so inept at it? Ah well maybe you got fired
Concord was doing its job, why complain, you got put on the most wanted list, duh |

Yeah, I don't think AI has the "revenge" module yet. Seeking revenge for all the innocent Zap has killed in the past.
Sounds like faulty mechanics somewhere. I've noticed several... oddities in the past few days. Maybe CCP is making some significant changes without notification? If so, I think game mechanic changes should be announced, especially if they could lead to a player losing their ship... ------------------------------------- // The views expressed by this poster are not the views of the poster's corporation, alliance, planet or television network... but they should be. |

And for all the stupid fools who would laugh at my misfortune I'd just like to remind them I didnt lose my ship to stupid concord, because there is a fairly easy way to avoid concord in even 1.0 systems. However, getting out of the system is another matter entirely.

Well to clarify the matter I can tell you but the thread will most likely be locked.
I tested it with an alt in yulai 4-5 days, went in a noob ship to a belt and locked and started shooting an indy mining there, nothing happaned, no msg saying I started an aggression, no loss of sec stat, no concord, I unlocked, warped out and back in, locked and shot at another indy, nothing happaned, so I sent a petition about this but and got a reply few minutes later from polaris and then a GM after that.
I tried several times that day in various systems and found out that in about 7 out of 10 times when I shoot at someone nothing happaned.
Note that no ships were hurt in this test (except my reapers), I always stopped at about 50% shields if they were AFK and I did not exploit in any way since I was in steady contact with the particular GM about what happaned. Spawn of the Devil

I find it funny that, when told about a possible low-sec exploit, which would allow <-5 sec players access to all areas in a frigate, the spaz-factory rejects can only manage to laugh at the messenger.
talk about strange priorities... .

Omniwar you are a model player! lmao. m0o corp have always been of use to the devs discovering possible exploits and reporting them. We should be payed for bug hunting imo....
I mean, I was on Chaos with my indestructible Dominix the other day and the next day theyd fixed the bug whereby you can make your ship indestructible...

There is something random with that, long ago I did the similar stuff, travelled in a frig to 0.9 system, went ok.
Jumped in my indy to haul stuff I had there and CONCORD started shooting when I undocked. Luckily it was back then before Castor, when indy's still could warp out, and CONCORD was out of scrambler range. --

Zap that sucks. Thanks for making this problem known (although I fear that griefers will seek to exploit this to the max before it gets fixed).

I'll chime in to agree with Luc about the randomness of Concord/Navy response. I've seen attacks happen in 1.0 systems without Concord showing up. I suspect that it's just a bug, but it would be kind of slick (from a game point of view) if it was purposefully random: "Whew! I was able to slip through Yulai without Concord detecting me!".
What would be really interesting (again from a game point of view) would be if the AI really *could* take your ship into consideration and decide to not attack you if they feel you're just scouting, instead waiting for you to come in with a larger ship. Somehow I don't think this is the case, though...

It would be nice to have a system of graduated risk with PCs as in much the same way with NPCs. Pirate battleships can only enter so far, cruisers can sneak in a little further and frigates further still. However, odds are it's bug.

Bad Karma?
It usually takes concord some time to respond, it also happend to me a few times that the first 0.5 system I enterd I was doing fine, but then they were waiting in the next.
So, in my theory, if you would go into Torrinos immediatly with your battleship nothing would have happend.
This is not a hijack

I was under the impression that not letting concord kill you in a 1.0 was an exploit?
