I would totally support Mittens and his drones voting with their feet and quitting Eve until CCP cave in.
Anything less is just :words: and sabre rattling.

Or constantly flood Jita until they kick everyone. This way we get some satisfaction AND the attention that is needed. I vote to constantly flood Jita, or atleast since 9-11 is just around the corner, an attack on Jita then. And feel free to send the love/hate from the US. |

Quite the contrary. A negative media blitz may be just the thing Eve needs for long-term survival.
What we have here is a failure to communicate. As Mittens has said, upper management at CCP hasn't been listening. Forum posting can be ignored. Protests at monuments can be ignored. But get the media, gaming and non, reporting on this battle, and CCP simply can't ignore it any longer.
He's on to something here. CCP is terrible at communication. Really, really terrible. They're vulnerable to exactly this kind of tactic. Get news sites talking about this, where all the really juicy information is coming from players and the CSM (while CCP replies with typically boring PR responses) and you have an opportunity to really shape public perception about the game and the company.
The idea here is to force their hand. Make it so that they risk irreparable damage unless they do an about face and start developing Eve Online the way the vast majority of players would prefer. I know lots of people like to crap on the CSM, but creating that body was truly the worst move CCP ever made, at least from their point of view. They gave players the ability to have a legitimate voice in the media, a go-to for stories like the one we're now seeing circulate.
Of course the intention was for the CSM to be a tool for managing players, that's obvious. But Mittens understands that it could be something else entirely, and we're starting to see the realization of that.
Hopefully, CCP sees it too. |

I'm talking about Mittens' effort to turn up the heat.
You're talking about CCP's imagined effort to get rid of paying customers. |

CCP just need to churn out endless Mittens quotes where he obsequiosly sings their praise. Show him up as the sycophant he really is. He had his chance to make his objections, but instead he posted in support of CCP.
If he wants to make a real stand he should resign from the CSM in disgust and un-sub his account.
But he won't, because he is more interested in his e-fame than he is in the future of Eve.
He will claim that he must stay in place and fight the good fight from the inside, but the truth is that he is all mouth and no trousers ... and CCP knows it too.

Great!
FIS needs more resources.CCP needs to understand that, the FIS portion of the game has stagnated and active player numbers support that conclusion.
Didn't vote for mittens(did vote for other reps who got in) but he seems to want to improve EvE and is willing to do what he thinks is best for the game...
Can't fault him for that...
so quit the boo hoo CSM are just players BS....
we all want FIS to be better and CCP is not allocating enough resources to FIS...simple So....ccp are you paying attention? or will we get a new set of boots?
Mittens has a way with words. we do need more to do, not more to wear. Players feel like ccp is sacrificing the stuff to do for the stuff to wear and it should be addressed.
Hope the big wigs at CCP take note, also GJ to the devs who are working on FIS! Do wish you had a bit more QA and we had the new IO but almost as though you lack resources..... |

Tikera Tissant wrote:To be honest, I think this expansion and all its updates are about CCP trying to improve the community aspect of the game, instead of just concentrating about making big things go BOOM.
The whole point of EVE in some way or another relates back to blowing **** up.
The problem with this game is too many people unwilling to take risks that they perceive as large, the whole perception of what is a risk needs to be shaped so people are more willing to fleet with random people and get to know them. I've met a ton of people just from incursioning, which lead to me getting in with another group of people that blow **** up on roams. Too many people are afraid of "the other player" at the moment, which stifles the "community" aspect.
Don't think there's much of a way around it though, it's a personal thing, I don't think mechanics, or an expansion of walking around seeing avatars is going to over come the innate fear of losing isk. |

I'm actually interested in where this goes.
Mittens at first clashed with the players by writing things like "In Defense of Incarna" and appearing to be a sycophant for ccp by telling players to ignore those leaked memos, and that they don't mean a thing.
Now he is actually making points players have been clamoring about. I'm glad to see it.
Why the change?
Is it too little too late?
In any event I'm glad to see it. Hopefully CCP will start assigning some resources to FIS. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve

This is a high risk by mittani
He is the chair of the CSM, I hope that all the CSM were aware of the post on the Goons forums before this went so public
This could backfire and do alot of damage with the CSM and CCP relations
Im hoping that this isnt one guy boosting his ego, cos if it is then I feel that his role as chair of the CSM could be short lived
However, if it has full CSM support, then I wish it well as I agree that we want something new to do and not to wear
