Drake. Cause the drake is 9/10 the last thing to get primaried and when it does it can stand alot of punishment.

All rounder? Hrm.
Tough that.
Almost every ship that's good in one, is poor at the other.
But for a general purpose solo/gang/fleet ship, I'd be tempted to go with the Rokh or the Eagle.
Because they can fit rails for one job, blasters for the other, and have enough mids to not totally suck at soloing (but they're not great). Problem is, they're not really all that great at either, but they can more or less do 'em all.
Megathron or Hyperion for the same reasons.
But if I'm investing that much, I'd also be tempted to just buy a cruiser for each job instead. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? GMP and TNP |

Tempest.
It's the only ship I can think of that will rat everywhere really well, run a good close range setup, and excel at long range/fleet.
Or a nidhoggur. ----

Reasonably cheap and 100% insurable.

Ed: It could be noted that "solo PVP" in a battleship isn't. If you're *REALLY* keen on 'solo' PVP, I'd probably go with a Brutix (but this lacks the fleet / gang component that really floats my boat). -- I give up (Make me say whatever you want!): Price Check: Liang Nuren

Given the current state of PvP... I'd say the Nano-Ishtar.
I really wanted to say Drake (set up for real PvP, not this passive tank/0 damage nonsense)... But well... I didn't.

Geddon.
Fleet requires 150km+ range so that basically requires BS guns. A few non BS ships can hit at 150+ but they're not as good at it.
Gang really depends on the gang but with 8 low slots and 125m3 drone bay/bandwidth the Geddon is flexible enough for a lot of different types of pvp.
Solo work depends on where you are soloing. Roaming 0.0 in a BS these days is a good way to get killed. For low sec you need a good tank. Geddon can tank well if setup for it.
Only real weakness is 3 midslots on a BS means one of the four solo pvp mods is going to be missing.
Mega can do the same jobs but it costs more isk. Phoon also covers the same jobs well. . .. WELP! .. . |

hmm tough call, id like to say mega.. but has become a bit limited in solo work.
i guess the taranis is my vote.
ceptors are often pivotal to a gang/fleets success.
a blasteranis will chew through alot of stuff solo with some luck /noobish targets.
a suicidal nature helps too, sometimes tougher opponents who would normally squash it get so dumbfounded that they forget to use their web, or launch their drones or such.
all in all a versatile and gutsy ship.
