Edited by: Serious Masta on 17/12/2007 07:51:34 Hi!
I think eve has raised good but a litle bit in wrong direction.
why: Ive got a importent mission (courier), have to houl 40k m¦ into a 0.4 system.
ok, not bad at all, ill travel there. 0.4 has at gates and stations centry guns.
what i have to see at station? a carrier, supported by an bs (?) with shield. after i undocked, i lost my ship, lost my imps, in short: got podded.
i have to say, i wasnt in eve since 2005. in 2005, 0.4 systems are "save". no one can tank centry guns. now every noob can tank the centrys and 0.4 and below is very very dangerous?!
why import missions goes into "dangerous deep" space if its logical the ppl. got podded?
cmon, this is very crap.
ccp, what you have to say about this?

1) Learn to scout 2) Learn to use the starmap 3) Learn not to run missions through a camped gate in a ship that can't run it 4) Fit your hauler for evasion / alpha strike survival (stabs in the lows, extenders in the mids, cloaking device in a highslot works very well)
You are not safe in lowsec. You must do things such as think, plan, and use strategies you devise yourself in order to be successful. If you can do that you won't have too many problems missioning in lowsec. ----- My in Eve Profile |

The agent, the system, and the system radius is completely at your discretion. There is no obligation to go anywhere you don't want to, no obligation to do a mission you don't have to.
You choose an agent with lowsec systems in the mission radius. You choose to accept a mission in a lowsec system. You choose to go into the lowsec system. You take responsibility for your actions.

this mission goes over 8 jumps, if i have the time to scout, ill do it. i was fitted well enough. stabs in the low, extender in the mid. cloaking dont work near station. the "other" was outside the station, there where you cannot evade (undock-area).
im not a newb, i know what i have to do.. but if they block/camp this area, you CANNOT EVADE!
next time i will warp to 100km to it, will scout and if they there i ... hide 20-30-40 minutes?! cmon, this isnt ok for a storyline-mission! if i would go there because i want to be there its my problem....

You lost a ship in 0.4?

Then you just wait untill the camp clears. Most camps clear after a few hours, and you had a full week to do this mission.

Not all missions are safe. Whenever I get that 40k mission in 0.0, I decline it. Simple as that.

well, first of all... duh you went to low sec in a hauler and died...
on a less serious note;
what were you expecting? taking sentries has been there forever, back in 2004 low sec was even more dangerous than it is now imho...
yes the carrier thing sucks, but hey welcome to lamers online... dont expect anything else if ccp grants those guys an unkillable ship in low sec.
ps... getting podded by a bs and a carrier is kinda bad... even for a real bear

Just the fact that you want to get revenge makes this a learning experience. Cause you know, you might realise that "lowsec" isn't that bad after all and you're missing out on 80% of the game. |

This, plus scouting, is the correct way to do this.
And yes, for an important storyline mission, that will have had in clear, red text in the mission description, a warning about ending you to low-sec this is fine. Warnings, especially warnings in bright red text, are there for a reason ;)
Here's something else you could have done: park an alt 100km away from the station you needed to dock at. Log him off there, go back to your main and carry on with other stuff (more missions, etc). Every 30 mins or so log the alt back in and check the station. When it's clear bring your main in.
That way you don't waste too much time with your main stuck waiting for the pirates to go away. The timer for completing the storyline mission is long. Much longer than the pirates will hang around probably :) ________________________________________________________________

Well if you knew how dangerous it would be for that guy to take his carrier into 0.0 you'd understand why he was being a gankbear in lowsec instead.

Yes! What are your thoughts about not living up to your name mr.Masta? Are you really a serious Masta or just an average Joe Masta? Is it true that the intergalactic whambulance organisation has revoked your masta license and degraded you to padawan? Many questions but the public needs to know these issues! Any comments mr.Masta?

1. WCS 2. Scout 3. WCS
You might also want to consider scanning gates from nearby celestial objects or safe spots. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

The thing that gets me is this.
HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET PODDED BY A BATTLESHIP OR A CARRIER?
Seriously, they have massive locktimes....you could even dawdle picking a destination and still get away with time to spare
Here's a tip. If you see that you are going to go down, select an object in space and spam the warp to button. Outside of laggy situations you should never lose another clone.

Now there I disagree. Sure gate camping was going on (and of course it happened in Empire as well - remeber Yulai ) but 0.4 was emptier.
Me and corpmates used to go there as noobs (and later with noobs) to practice on half way decent rats. Nowadays even though I have going on for 55mil SP I think twice before entering low-sec. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Target painter perhaps? If it's a properly set up gate camp the BS ought to be able to lock a hauler in the blink of an eye. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

i written above: they BLOCK the undock-area. that means you jig around, want to warp, jig again, WANT TO WARP, jig again and so on... bounce-trap ^^

You serious? You realize that you need to have a lock to use a target painter, right? More probable explanation would be smartbombs.
remote sensor boosting is a good explanation aswell. ---
