Just curious as to the huge amount of b*tching that goes on about the nerfs and Jita... None of those threads have any CCP replys in them... Is that for any particular reason or just because they don't care?

Nope, CCP does not care about the blitching. They *do* however care about reasonable decently presented constructive criticism. Right now, though, you will not see much of any def response as they are with their friends and families preparing for new year's eve.

look, they know jita is laggy, they put it on a dedicated server yet that just causes more and more people to go there. back in the day when i was in jita there were only 600 or so in local, now it can be over 1000, what do people expect.
do yourself and others a favour and spread the trading across systems within a region instead of massing a gigantic blob in 1 solar system overloading the node creating a black hole and then blaming ccp. and yes eve can be greatly optimized compared to now, but do yourself the frigging favour till that happens and stop blobbing jita.
imagine the amount of data being transferred everytime you frigging click something.
so yeah, ccp knows it's laggy. they are also some of them on holidays, since it's allmost new year. obviously there's an immediate problem right now and those who have lost stuff will obviously be reimbursed.

All they need to do is allow Concord to transport Items from main hubs like Jita to
anywhere in Empire for a *fee.

no, ppl just need to spread their trading to different regions, for gods sake we have like several thousand solar systems, just spread them a bit across the region it'll fix the lag, what would you prefer? black hole lagfest or jumping an extra jump to get an item?

Yea because it would be so much easier to have all the industrialist that have been set up in Jita for YEARS with TONS and TONS of m3 worth of items move across all of space.
Or just setting up a transfer system that would also REMOVE ISK from the game (which is another MAJOR problem) that would in 1 day solve most of the Jita lagg problems.

Sorry stupid statement. Bottom line is everyone wants their items to sell, and sell fast, and EVERYONE knows the only place that happens is Jita. So you can sit in a fantasy world and think "yea if only 1 or 2 traders move then a few will follow.. so on and so forth".
If it was THAT simple it would have been done a LONG time ago and we wouldn't have the mess Jita is now.
Implement a system to transfer goods from Jita to elsewhere in space for a fee (that also helps REMOVE ISK FROM THE GAME) and now we are talking solutions.
Even if the transfer WASN'T instant people would pay a good bundle to avoid having to go to Jita.

If I remember correctly, CCP considers the EVE Forums to be a vocal minority. I think they prefer that their statistics team collects data which directly reflects balance in game.
So I guess they do listen to us subscribers in a way, but by observing our actions rather than our words. I personally don't think these forums really have much influence on developer team decisions at all.

They don't listen to jack. They have never really implemented any of the plethora of excellent and often very simple suggestions people make on the forums. I've been here over a year, seen dozens of constructive threads, some of them even with dev posts saying "yeah that's a good idea" and I can't remember any of them actually being implemented.
Ironically Jita is one thing I think they did all they can do about.

CCP DO care.
However..
1. They have stated more then once that they read the forums quite often. However, do to the time consumation it takes to write a lengthy replay, and follow-ups, they prefer to listen and read, and let the debate continue. Sometimes they comment. Sometimes they dont. But they are always listening. and reading.
2. Some devs are more forum warriors then others. But even they takes time off forums now and then. And christmas time, is a good time to spend with their families and friends, rather then writing posts to other forum warriors. That do not indicate they are not interested anymore. They are simply taking a break. or burned out. or.. whatever.
3.The discussions lately have been horribly. Too many whines. Too little arguments. Not worth commenting.
4. The forums are for the players to interact, and its a good source for the devs to keep up-to-date with the more avid player base. But the devs have other things to do then honing their forums post count. Making the game for example is just one of them.
I am sure the devs do care. As they always do.
The question is: Do the players care about the game as a whole, or do they simply just care about their epeen ego and their own toys?

For...(insert deity of choice) sake!
There will always be trade hubs, look at our civilization! People will not spread voluntary out of Jita as long as they can still make the most of money for minimal effort and people won't stop coming there despite lag because things are cheaper there...
Asking CCP to quickly fix this situation without ruining the economy built up there (and by extension in EVE) is like telling them to fix the current trend of people moving to the cities from the countryside. A problem that governments have tried an failed miserably to do.
I'm no fan of Jita, I live +20 jumps away and that's to close for comfort but I do realize that trying to eliminate hubs is like trying to stop a freight train by spitting on it.
The easiest solution is for those who dislike it to stay away from it.
Oh and Interbus was on the tables like 3 years ago I think. I highly doubt CCP is going to implement it now.
And for the wild guesses: I guess they just don't see Jita as a "gamestopper bug" or a pressing matter. It's performance and player experience related, and the EULA states "Game experience may change during play"

It just takes longer than that, is all. I've been here since 2004 and I've seen a lot of things implemented that have been suggested over the years.
Thing is, when you make a computer program or computer game, you have a set plan for how you want it achieved and what the goals are. You can't just stop halfway through and redesign it, adding and subtracting major components just because it's a good idea or new.
I mean, look at Duke Nukem Forever. It's been nigh on 10 years for that to come out because they've redesigned it at least 3 times, changed the graphics engine twice etc.
Things have improved. Drones, new regions, lag, tech 2 battleships, invention, new battleships etc.
It just takes time.
They DO listen and they listen carefully. They just don't reply to every thread nor do they implement every idea that gets sprung up here because it affects hundreds of thousands of players. They have to think carefully about it.

lol, you should go out more ... EVE is a *game*. Players play it the way it is designed, it was designed by CCP. Everyone hugging Jita is a consequence of the design, Jita being lagged is a consequence of the design and the lackluster implementation.
To prevent players from hugging Jita, the design must be changed, to prevent lag with the same design, the implementation must be changed. It's really simple.

See wen i go to enter jita or if im logging in docked and it lags like a mofo, i close the game, go outside and kick a football, swim in the pool, walk my dog, if its time for work ill go there and earn dollars, yes there is a currency outside of isk.
What i dont do i sit there, watching my screen slowly load images and have my ship jerk around slowly or something, i dont watch a screen saying "entering jita mood 4 caldari navy wateva it is" for like 30 mins.
There is a world outside of eve, if jita is lagging, quit and come back, u might lose isk, but its isk not real money.
Point is only tight arse virgins have time to winge about jita, real ppl dont let it emotionally destroy them ;)

The simple truth is that this is a company and companies care about one thing, making money so unless it hurts their wallet odds are they probobly don't give it much priority.
In the case of Jita, clearly they have put forth considerable effort to resolve the problem, but nothing they have tried has worked to the satisfication of the player base, yet it has cost them considerable amount of money to try. I expect they have concluded their efforts with Jita with their latest effort and at this point will likely just let it be hoping that player irritaton will prompt people to leave Jita rather then ***** about it endlessly.
There are a number of simpler solutions like simply placing a limit on the amount of people that can be in a system (say 500) dissalowing anyone from entrying and creating a 'waitng' que. This will severly hamper the economic flow of Jita which would be a good thing, while eliminating the amount of people that go their which is also a good thing. In the end Jita is only a problem because the devs have refused to give up on trying to fix it, which I think is honorable but at this point the efforts have hurt the game more then simply doing a simple 'limitation' fix. If nothing else they should implement a limitation patch until they figure out how they will solve it rather then letting a part of their game world be so crappy.

CCP do care what the players are saying, but with over 200,000 "voices", it can be very difficult for them to hear one voice from the background din. For an in-depth analysis of what CCP are trying to do about this. See Xhagen's excellent White Paper on the Stellar Council proposals. http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=636642
The issue of Jita lag is mainly caused by players themselves. People flock to Jita as if it is the only place in the Universe where you can buy or sell all your goods. This is patently untrue. There are a load of other market hubs including
Agil, Amarr, Oursulaert, Dodixie/Aunia, Rens, Orvolle, Yulai, Hek,
etc, to mention a few. People need to use these hubs instead of Jita. It is not so much effort for industrialists and merchants to service 2 or 3 hubs. My alt has been selling stuff everywhere except Jita for years, and making good money from it.
People with long memories will remember Yulai which was, proportionally, as crowded 2 years ago as Jita is now. CCP "fixed" this by cutting its links to other systems and removing the "super-highways". Of course, it just shifted the problem.
Players themselves have to fix the Jita problem. It is not one which CCP can (or should, imo) fix on their own.
Just my own opinions, of course.

This is simply not true. There are so many ways the Jita problems could be fixed that I can't even be bothered to list more than a few. It's a simple truth that people will adapt to the game and currently hugging Jita is what they do (it's not lagging enough, or it's not widely enough known, or people simply refuse to accept that Jita is unusable and CCP doesn't fix it).
Some suggestions in order of preference: * make the EVE universe much bigger ... WTZ made single trade hubs attractive since travel is so fast * add global market offers to the market (not only regional), so offers in other market hubs are visible (eve-central.com isn't a good workaround) * move agents around automatically (come on, we have LP stores and corp-based LP now, it can't be a problem) * increase market fees with number of orders in the station/system * add docking fees when too many people are docked already

That's one of the least important issues, given that a) most players are not affected by it in any way (what's the problem really? ISK sale spammers?) b) if noone buys ISK, the farmers will go away ... so someone must be buying, therefore it's hardly a pressing issue for *all* players

CCP is listening but believe it or not there are limits to what they can do.
JITA is the HOLY GRAIL of MMORG gaming.
If CCP manages to eliminate lag in JITA then hang on cause that would also mean the solution to 99 % of all the lag in the game.
However even with Jita on it's own node there are still issues. It is NOT a simple solution
And you will know the day CCP has given up. That will be the day CCP shards EVE and goes the route of every other MMORG.
May we all never see that day.

That doesnĘt include the first month fee of 19.95 for the game download, which everyone pays, and the cake from the eve store.
