The entrance fee is ok. It's 20 million per team ... so 10 million per pilot.
Big thumbs up for this event. Good luck and I hope to see videos of at least the 3 top matches.

Everything is still going as scheduled. More details on the match structure will be released this week. And I hope to have a couple cameramen, yes. :)

Any chance for a fight to take place in lowsec?
I would like to participate with a friend but we both are outlaws

I appreciate the interest, but as most of the SAK EVEnts are geared towards the 'noobs', I have no plans of a low sec tournament any time soon. Perhaps things will change in the future, but not this time. :(

Rules clarification. Warping within the arena without leaving it, is this allowed?

All on Feb the 3rd?
Also, warping out constitutes as a forfeit right?

Good questions:
Warping within the arena is prohibited.
Warping out or disconnecting is an immediate disqualification of that player, but not the team.
All warp disruption modules are banned from the tournament, but any EW/logistics modules are allowed.
The tournament is eight days long, as the logistics of bringing everyone together on one or two days is nearly impossible since this is not CCP associated (hint, hint). We also have numerous referees in order to accommodate players from across the world. Essentially, we'll try to get the first round in the first two days, the second round the following days, etc.
There is no maximum limit for registered teams ... yet.

I think it would be nice to start a frigate tournament also. It would be pretty cool and a lot of fun.

The SAK EVEnt crew hosted our premier frigate tournament last year. :) More to come, of course.
And no faction cruisers, as stated in the rules.

This sounds amazing! I would love to enter, but I do have one minor query. The rules state that there cannot be more than a 12-month age gap between players. Is there anyway to overcome this? I was interested in entering with one of my students (likely between 2 and 4 months old), yet I will be...46 months old. I will gladly take the higher seeding as a form of punishment. If not, Midgard will still be entering a team - but I'll just be the most annoying backseat driver ever. One last question: the rules do not state whether or not a single corporation can enter multiple teams. Presuming that the entry fees are paid, can one corporation enter two teams with four different pilots?
Feel free to respond here or via eve-mail, whichever you prefer. Definitely a great event!

Yeah, the earlier frig tournie (details here) was great (despite me going out in the first round ) but I think that the 2 vs 2 cruiser tournie promises to be not only great fun, but will also to be a much more tactical teamwork experiment for most.
Also the bracket split between younger players and veterans makes it very appealing to the newer players who might otherwise not participate. Looking forward to it massively!

kada, that gap is simply too large, sorry. However, there are currently no restrictions on the number of teams eligible for the tournament. A corp or alliance can enter however many they wish, but I do request that each player limit his or herself to one character entered in the event (no alts).

You've a slight problem using character age; I'm a year and a bit old, but I only have 3.4 millions skill points. This is because I only play once in a while during any given year.
Character age is not a reliable indicator of character skill levels.

I realize this, Steo. However, this is the best organization metric we could use. Sorry to those this system alienates.

Just the two who sign up. However, if problems arise between your registration and your first match, you may change your team or drop out of the tournament and receive a refund.

If your team loses a ship but wins the match and progresses to the next round, the lost ship would need to be replaced. I wasn't explicit on that point. It somewhat falls under the 'you can change your ships and fittings between matches' rule.

It has been made pretty clear that any faction gear is not allowed.
I would like to participate, but I need a partner my character age. (~2 years)
