So here I am, sitting on my computer not doing what im supposed to do. Planing a trip to the Britian for my and my dad. Okay well it's a little more complicated then that, but heres the lowdown.
My dad (for christmas) surprised me by telling me that he'd take me to London (and the rest of the Great Britain) during the end of summer. Now I've always wanted to go to Europe, and London specifically. But here I am, and I have no idea what to do, and where to go!
I mean I wanted to go to London, but I never had an idea where to go
So I leave you with this:
What places are must see, should see, and just stay away from in London, and the rest of it!
(Help me please )

What he said ^
But also check out some of the not so crowded cities, such as Cambridge, Norwich, Cornwall and the small towns/cities around them. Depends how long you have really.

Edited by: Ararius on 07/01/2008 01:04:04 Well after consulting my father, he said the total time for the trip would be about 10days- 2 weeks at most.
So smaller cities, towns and what else ;D

Out of London, I suggest
Lake District definitely.
Peak District, maybe.
Windsor Castle.
Scotland, Stirling Castle.
There's some cool museum of motoring in Carlisle

Places I would go were I on Britain:
The Henge, of course.
Anywhere and everywhere in London.
Manchester. But don't drink the beer.
Edinburgh.
Isle of Man, and hire a pilot.

Why the" "? One of the top 5 shopping destinations in the UK (Considering it's a small out of the way city and the UK is made up of 4 countries that's not exactly bad going), was one of the most important cities in England for 100's of years and has much history to represent that.. one thousand year old cathedral that took 200 years to build from stones shipped in FROM NORMANDY, which is down the road from a 900 year old castle which has a 6 floor mall built underneath it anyone.. oh sorry, I forgot there is nothing in Norfolk. Move along folks, nothing to see here. /rant.
A Linky for you to check it out. (Ignore the rant, Norfolk gets allot of **** from comedians on TV for some unknown reason and i'd hate for that to stop you from visiting)

Bring cold potatoes. Beg salt off passersby. When you get to Edinburgh, have anything deep fried. That is the height of British Cuisine. ----- TANSTAAFL

Meh, London's nice but the country does have a few other places that're worth the visit. Like York for example.... bloody gorgeous city. I wouldn't confine yourself just to the capital.

Gordon Ramsay leads me to understand you can't get good Yorkie Pud in Yorkshire. Is this true? My sister makes spank-ass Yorkie. 'Taint that hard. ----- TANSTAAFL

Wouldn't know, I'm a Lincolnshire boy myself... yorkshire puddings damn good here.
Can't see how you'd fail with it though, easy easy thing to make.... more likely Ramsays got some weird recipe that hes found or created and wants everyone to think its uber.

Are you going in the summer or winter? If the Summer then Warrick castle is a great site if your interested in medieval castles, they usualy have archery shows and its always a realy nice day out there, me and my family go once every summer.
If your in london the Tower of London is a must! It has the crown jewel collection, alot to see and steeped in mystery and murder. I'm assuming as your going to Britain your going there for the culture and possibly food. Just bring your umbrella as we get alot of rain, when the sun shines its beautiful though.
