And... Amarrian females are by far > Gallente/Caldari females, and rumour has it, they don't interbreed.
i agree but i have my own reasons why im training ammar and specialising in them...
great armor tanks, and yes some gellent ships can equal but in my eyes gellente excel in versitile drone boats and good dmge dealers, i think ammar are all about tanking and delivering ok dmge
i also like the fact that they look sexy, just look at ammar ceptors adn the abso nuff said imho
and then the guns, i often get into combat and i need to change ammo and you get the "aprox 10seconds to reload" rubbish, but then in big fleet ingagments u can lose half ur fleet, however in ammar lasers it only takes 1-2 seconds to change ammo adn then u can carry on firing again, plus with t1 ammo u font run out adn with t2 ammo u save cargo space coz crystals dont take up any space what so ever
speed - in most instances minmitar are allways faster but has any1 compared speed fit ceptors? the minmitar claw is only just faster than a sader and once u add rigs/implants the sader overtakes the claw and once ur faster than a claw and u stick some beams on ur sader, u stay out of web range adn shoot, with out having to worry bout the claw cathing u and webbing u
and then we hit ammar recons, yes they have been nerfed but imho oppinoin theres nothing better than a curse for making a nano ship run/die (along with min recons) - u stick 2-3 neuts on a vaga dn its got no cap, plus with some tracking disruptors - tracking speed script and u geta ceptor 2 get him weebed adn scrammed - hes dead in most cases
thats some of the reasons i like ammar

i have to say i was appalled when i fit autocannons on my punisher and they un-broke it. then i found the perfect fit for my coecer and realised i had forgot to fit a repairer. at that point the thought that came into mind was "wow, they really do suck as bad as everyone says".
but my harbringer is ok. free ammo is nice. my hurricane still out performs it. mines better too >_>
really the only reason i fly amarr is because i like blowing up structures for loot. free ammo means i can blow up everything i want. then my corp mates start firing torps when it is taking too long. *sigh*
my main gripe with amarr is lack of ship agility and general slowness. i feel like i'm flying a cruiser when i go from my harbringer to my hurricane. --- Originally by: Kagura Nikon .......That is why I started an alt to be completely specced in ammar. Because eventually CCP will buff it......

i fly them cos they look the coolest gallente ships used to but now amarr wins hands down.
ihate all the people in this thread that even suggest amarr are not massivly underpowered tho. my caldari and gall toons still pipe the floor with my 40 mill sp only trained in pvp amarr toon

I have dueled Amarr BS with my Drake and sadly won. Of course neither of us could tackle the other so not a realistic test. Issue for Amarr was running out of cap boosters and I tend to fill the EM resist hole out of respect for Amarr.
What is sad about that is Amarr should eat shield tankers for breakfast. I've gotten away from "tank testing" because the Drake can be killed easily if you still know how to nos/nuet (active hardeners for the win or lose depending). But same can be said for Amarr, the lazors just shut off. And the beams kind of bounce off armor.
I'm far from an EvE expert, but Amarr need a boost. With the progression of nerf/boosts (new devs?) I expect Amarr love soon. Good luck to you guys.

I hate agree'ing with someone who cant figure out why a ship with 2 high slots cant fit 3 highslot mods, but zulupark was mostly right in that amarr dont need some Big ChangeÖ, the ships that are not performing however, need to be revised.

Why i fly them? They tend too look the most ship-like + those lasers sure are pretty, not too say that that they feel like the only guns that "should" be in a Sci-fi game.
ohh and i¦m in it for the bling.

For roaming I almost exclusivly use the Zealot with sniper fittings for extreme dps. fantastic ship! In fleet battles I pick the Apoc, also for good DPS and I can usually keep my 7 t2 tachys firing longer then a megas 425's due to its big cap and handy cap reduction bonus.
As with all races, you have to be selective with which ships to fly. Find ships that fit your play style and you will excel

Started with caldari, then saw a video of a bleeder punisher slapping around caracals. Made me want it bad, so i started training up amarr and never looked back.
The ships just look sexy and with the new graphics they look even better. They can tank like a beast. I love the curse, it is a awesome boat, solo and small gangs, I know it must be good as i see lots of yellow and red boxes start blinking as soon as i come out of warp . The absolution has one of the best balance of gank and tank. A abbadon with a full rack of Tacs and 2-3 heat sinks has a insane alpha, it blows massive chunks out of ships (needs support but meh, some setups do.)
The ammo is some what true, I giggle in prolonged 0.0 campaigns when people have to scrounge around the dead for ammo, "WTF why did you blow up his wreck? We need that antimatter!" But that said amarr eat cap booster 800's like tic tacs.
The earlier ships are not so great, but the t2 stuff and higher tier are some of the best ships around. Playing amarr, it will be rough to start off with, but it only gets better.

Sorry, lie. Med AC's on anything with a falloff bonus or ambit rigs. If you're "fast as hell" pulses cannot track you. Ac's though, thats the ticket.

Small medium PULSE t2 laser with microwave crystal (not t2) on a coercer has with Maxed skills a 18 km optimal with .46172 tracking and a 2.5 km falloff.
Medium 425 autocannon t2 with barrage ammo (Is t2) on a munnin has a 4.5 optimal with a 15 km fall off. (With maxed skills.) Tracking is .13612.
So yeah, coecer, and I know this from experience, can absolutely make a frigate pilot have a bad day. And those are pulse lasers, you put beams on it it's even nastier. Miz Stelth Bomerz iz the ****nit. |

1 ship. That ship only has 1 midslots. With tracking and optimal bonus. Using Microwave(a pretty weak crystal) with probably all 5 EFT skills. Reaches 18km optimal.
And it dies in 1 torp volley.

Not flying amarr yet; but might change soon. I enjoy shooting lasers & shields (might be silly; but in a SF game I wanna see shields & lasers on my ships) The Sansa ships are the ones who make me switch; nice ships; who unite what I like in spaceships.
In overall: lasers rock! they might have resists & ca****ues; but they look great! -------------- Cleaning up wrecks others leave behind! Got to keep space clean! |
