I fly amarr ships because of:
Crusaders; Maledictions; Zealots; Sacrileges; Curses; Pilgrims; Absolutions; Damnations; Geddons, Apocs; Abaddons.
They all worth the isks :)

I fly them because its a challenge. Amarr ships are under-powered, so its always an extra thrill when you can be competitive with other pilots despite that disparity

Amarr are fun you just have to be creative, don't listen to the hype and be thick skinned when your corp mates make fun of you. They'll stop when your zealot puts their nano istar into structure.

you know everyone says amarr is like eve on hard mode. Maybe they are right.
but I still fly amarr for two reasons, the first being there is nothing more satisfying the getting on the battlefield and decimating the enemy with a race that everyone says sucks <3 abaddon. The second being, of all the choices in game the armageddon and abaddon are my favorite battleships, each for different situations.
The only warning I would give people that are thinking of amarr, is it takes alot of training to be good with this race, however once you have that training you are superior to other races in a couple of really useful tactics.
some of the ships I would highly recommend going for in amarr. curse, malediction, absolution, damnation, armageddon, abaddon, archon, aeon, revelation, are all some of the best ships in those classes in the game.

And don't foget the Vangaence. Very cool looking very hard tanking (not so hard hitting) but cap stable Assault *g*. Yea, I know, they have no real roul but I love it at level 2 missions and Complex up to 3/10.
And even if we don't have the best E-War the Sentinal is fun to fly too. 3 packs of small drones (ew, rep, dam), nice slot-layout, very agil and fast. With Centii C-Type NOS/NEUT (not realy hard to get, realy) hell of range to them and if you don't like TDs fit somethink else.
Punisher, one of the best T1 frigs someone could get.
Executor, very nice speed-hauler for small amounts.
Sometimes all of em are hard to fit espezialy with small SP standings. You NEED to max your cap-skills and most likely want Engineering, Electronics and Mechanic very high. Yes, it's hard to start as a Amarr becouse you need so much skills to be effectiv.

Cheaper guns, no ammo, less likely to be called primary in a fleet fight. Also the damage is just fine in a zealot/harbinger/bs, when lag is not conspiring against you. Personally I would say don't train for a curse right now. I've had one sitting in my hanger for over a year and I think I've taken it out once.

Amarr caps are great, tbh I;d take archon/rev/aeon over any other race's capitals.
Sacriledge is very good, zealot is okish, and apoc is a decent fleet sniper. Geddon does ok in RR gangs as well.
Most of the rest sucks though. Good thing I have a gallente and minnie alt.

- Look great - Lasers go pew pew (and animation looks good) - They can take a lot of damage (remember doing lvl 2s in Punisher and I can only say that thing is more a piece of overpowered armour with weapons than a ship :) ) - Did I mention looks? - as a RPer, I like the feeling of using Ammarian weapons against them :)
Flying Prophecy feels like riding a rhino: just ignore everything that comes while going forward to your target, with laser show to entertain the crew :).

Amarr are the best entertainers, when things are a bit boring. Grab a Coercer with every Turret having a different crystal loaded for example... let's Disco anyone? .

With tracking disruptors effectively murdered and nos nerfed, there is one fun part of flying amarr left: Being the damage dealer.
Fit 3 heatsinks on everything and anything. As soon as you hit t2 guns of the needed size that is. 3 Heatsinks is the answer to most issues, excluding the useless ships that sadly form most of the current amarr's choice. Also in most cases forget about rep. Plates and trimarks are the way to go.
Fit 3 heatsinks on harbinger. Find a solopwnmobile gallente fellow thinking he can take you, your mother, your brother, your dog and everyone else in vicinity because he's flying a gallente solopwnmobile. Lock him. Watch him melt away. Scoop the corpse.

I'd have to say (not having flown amarr) that the BEST thing about Amarr is the simple fact that their ships look like they were built to hurt someone. I've flown nothing but caldari since I started this game and there are only a HANDFUL of ships that don't look like some sort of terrible mistake from a design standpoint (those being the Merlin, the Drake and the Rokh). Gallente ships look more like flying racecars and minmitar ships look like someone built a racecar with parts out of a junkyard.
That being said, I think I'm gonna try playing Amarr, given that they have two of the best missile ships out there (And the Sac may JUST be better than a Cerb, but that's hard to tell.

I really like amarr. Only cross trained for them (from minmatar actually) not long ago and just love the sacrilege and the absolution. The sac is so versatile and tough while every time in an absolution you feel like an anchor of a small gang. It's tough and bbqs stuff real nice
The sac can tank like a mofo or be nanoed pretty easily. In fact it's better than nano cerb because the sacrilege runs mwd permanently. You can stick that in eft and start whining
Granted, a lot of their t1 stuff seems real aweful, but it is irrelevant to my gameplay. |
