There is an undesirable who used to be in a corp of mine who got kicked out for a variety of reasons, but those reasons are worthy of vengence.
Since he missions, carebears and mines I cant really do anything to him as he sticks in high sec and will just switch corps if we dec him.
However, I know that every night before he logs, he flies in his pod through 4 systems to his Iteron V, stick a mining laser and alot of cargo expanders on it and mines while he sleeps.
He will be making the trip in the coming 2-3 hours, I know where he is now, and what systems he will be in. and luckily, he has an implant head worth over 600m isk. This is some utilities and a full rack of +5's. I know he spent a very, very long time grinding these.
I plan to ambush, and podkill him. I can fly any of the destroyers, and can fit 7x of any of the weapons with a damage mod at the very least with my fitting skills.
I will only get 1 chance at this because afterwards he will at least be using a frigate to protect his implants when travelling I am sure. So what I want to know is the following.

tl;dr
1. What destroyer would be most effective at 1 volleying a pod? And is it even possible to do so?
2. Can I shoot all 7 guns before the sentry would shoot at me?
3. Other than Sensor boosts with speed scripts, 7x guns and a damage mod, what else could I use to maximise my chances?

I was going to get him when he warps in, rather than out, higher chance of success then, and its why I am fitting all my mids with sensor boosters that have me lock faster. Can I fire all 7 before getting popped?

Stat cycling before the lock completes. Catching him even on that side of the gate can be iffy. A smartbomb BS would be a pretty much guaranteed kill, but you just said he mines while he sleeps.
Suicide gank the itty V, and nail the pod then.

destroyer to nail is itty5, wait 15 minutes, comeback. Nail pod.
Before going into this, make a shipscan of the itty5 and calculate how much you need to bring to suicide it on the first attempt based on if he got a damage control, shield extenders etc.

i agree. but if you intend to get the pod here is what you do.
you¦ll only catch the pod with any certainty using sb¦s. if you know the route, wait for him at the gate, spam the scan button to see when he¦s coming in, then f1,f2,f3 etc

shouldnt a smartbombing battleship (or 2) be able to kill both the itty and the pod? a few plates on the bs and you could live long enough to do two volleys and do it solo perhaps. im too lazy to check

a brutix or something to get the itty, and then a smartbomb ship in reserve to make the pod go pop
or a solo smartbomb bs might work

If you know which system he's going to mine in, you can leave 3-4 t1-fitted destroyers at a safe spot. Warp your pod, pick up the next one, resume gank.

I fired on a pod outside Jita 4-4 the other day "just for a laugh". Didn't pop it though, the sentries & Concord were on the scene too quickly.
It boggles the mind that someone would fly a 600m pod around on autopilot anywhere, he deserved to get popped.

He made a RL threat.
Petition it, and it's the ultimate podkill for you.
Everyone loses ships/implants/etc. The game wouldn't be fun without risk. But I've never had the urge to make a RL threat for any reason. It's unacceptable and CCP will crush him for it, if you want them to.

Don't stop there! Take out his itty V for sure...but wait 2 weeks...a rigged out itty V will cost him 120mil, then his pod will be floating in space...and you can come back and pop it in 15 minutes. Given insurance you can do this cheaply...plus he will have new implants by then

Don't bother with the itty 5...If you've got 5 mining laser upgrade II's and maxed skills, it takes over 35 minutes to fill the hold (7500m3) With expanders (25000m3), it will take all night. Chances are its not rigged up. (Most unfortunate) Mind you, you might be able to report him for macro use if he is truly filling his hold afk.. Most roids in high-sec just aren't big enough to fill an itty on their own so he'll have to switch. And, well...he's afk right?

Got him on the gate when he warped in, on autopilot aswell, sitting duck! I either lose 1m then to pop him, or over 100m later to pop him. I figured if I failed to get him he wouldnt have guessed my intent as I wouldnt have locked him in time and it would have just looked like passing coincidence. Thinking about it though, it would have been nice to gank his rigged Iteron V.
I am happy to say though, I have never seen so much swearing in a conversation directed at me in my life lol, he is not pleased at all. Not in the slighest.

Gain fame for myself? I use a posting alt to avoid that reason altogether.
I dont want to name him because someone is very likely to contact him, and the whole point of using a posting alt would be circumvented altogether when he starts crying about how I ripped him off =)

You shouldn't have to either tbh. I learned years ago that when dealing with the Interwebs, you either choose to suspend disbelief or nitpick everything to pieces by asking for silly proof. Even if you didn't do it in reality, the thought of it being done is much more fun than some boring attempt at disproving a good story. In the end, if you know well the times you are suspending disbelief, and allow yourself plenty, the Internet becomes a much more entertaining place.
So, no matter the reality of the case, I still think you kicked ass.

just took what he was owed/had earned, but your actions imply he took a lot more than that.

Okay, I am just going to post the whole gorey story.
Several weeks back,
We camped a gate with cloaks, we had a spy in our WT corp (Another reason I wish to remain unnamed =)), and their corp mail told all their missioners and other carebears to move all their assets from their HQ to a base out of the way and to make sure we didnt know their names so we couldnt locate them and they could continue normal operations about 30 jumps away while their PvPers enjoyed the war with us. A reply said that he didnt want to move without a scout. The member making the first mail would scout the way on his noobcorp character.
Noobcorp character came online, so we hopped in our ships and waited at a chokepoint system we previously agreed on, which they had to cross one way or the other to get from a-z. We waited half an hour and nothing, so it was just jokes on TeamSpeak. Surely enough though after about 45 minutes we see the 19 month shuttle pilot jump through then warp off. Cloaks off.
About a minute or so later stargate activates.
It just so happened to be a Iteron V and upon popping it left some goodies its wreck was packed thick with rare minerals, some nice salvage stuff.
A handfull of T2 items, looked like a fitting for a maelstrom due to 8x 1400mm T2 artileries and 2 Faction shield hardeners T2 X-large shield boosters also a faction MWD were present and some other faction goodies.
Our traitor, He was the only one in gang with skills to fly a hauler, and we had to move it quick before the hauler pilots whines brought some retaliation, so he bought a Iteron V a few systems away and he hauled it back to a corp hangar. A very noble feat, and he was very well congratulated as we wouldnt have had all the minerals if it werent for him, then it went sour.
He wanted 75% of profit because he had the killing blow on the mail, aswell as spending his own money to buy an Iteron V and hauled it all those jumps. We each compensated him having to buy the Iteron V, but told him no and it was to be split amongst the gang per normal, 5 ways this time as there were 5 of us there. At this he went quiet for a while, then told us he had already sold all the loot and spent it on some nice new shiny implants which equated to 600m "hahahahaha" he goes then logs off, and quit the corp 24 hours later. *Edit: I would like to add that I did check his contract details, and he did actually sell them.
He remained in a noob corp since, as we were just going to war dec his corp and get him that way. But a few weeks later he still hadnt joined one. So I sent him a convo invite, no response.
Next day he sends me one. I strike up a conversation with him apologising for ripping him off, he said it was no problem. he didnt reply yesterday as he was afk all night mining. After a bit of a chat I ask him if he was macroing. No he says, he told me (foolishly) that he now runs missions then before he goes to bed, leaves his shiny CNR, flies a few jumps in "nothing atall really" then hops into his Iteron V and mines all night.
Over the next few days I use locators to get the location of his mining. And the location of his missioning at respective times when he would obviously be up, or obviously be asleep. Thats when I figured the route he is 99% likely to take (shortest). One night when I was talking to him he says "anyway, I have work in the morning I am gonna fly cya."
So I then had an approximate time he would move, I tested it for a few days in a alt noobcorp shuttle, and surely enough he flew through the predicted gates in his pod within an hour of the predicted time.
Then begun my plan, and you know the rest already.

Brilliant planning and good execution brought you success. This is what makes EVE great. You used all the different channels, checked your assumptions, made your trap accordingly, and he went pop. Doubt it can get any better.

This just gets better and better, I must applaud you in your skills in subterfuge, not many I know would have the know how, the patience or be able to pick up on or laterally think the way you did there.
Also the fact you had a spy in your war targets corp shows all this sneaking about it commonplace for you!
