Hey guys,
I'm looking at the Null-Sec Player Influence Map provided by Verite Rendition and I can't help but notice a huge empty space south-east of Raiden and north-west of Shadow of xXDEATHXx.
Is there some reason for this that i'm missing? Or is this area simply unoccupied?
Thanks. |

I'm new at this game, so i'm unsure exactly what you mean. I know CCP = Game Developers. They segmented off that area for themselves?
Thanks in advance for the clarification. |

Theres no way in or out of that space, hopefully it's used to test stuff on the live server, and when Eve Jumps the shark they'll introduce jovians and open that space up for conquest. It'll be a strong sign of the end of Eve. |

those 3 (jovian) regions are where ccp test stuff out on TQ.
they also use it to to solve bug petitions by replicating the issues there
alliance tournaments are held there too.
there is also rumours that CCP hunt rare space whales there to make oil for running jovian ships. Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

There are plenty of unclaimed systems in nullsec, usually they are the space nobody wants, however when you take sov there you will quickly find out if someone has an attachment to that space, you can also negotiate with near by alliances to see if they mind if you move in. But the space you are referring to in particular is inaccessible as has already been stated. |

For instance those two regions are practically unclaimed, no matter what kind of strange and random mind tricks some people tries to fool you with.

Should try living in an NPC region while you find your feet and get a feel for nullsec politics. Alternatively you could rent space from an established alliance in the south or in the drone regions.
In any case there's no point in coming straight from highsec, looking at the influence map, and then deciding you're going to go try carving a chunk off of one of those colourful blobs. As nice as that map is it doesn't give any indication as to political ties between those space holding groups, so what looks like a fragmented mess on the map might end up being a big sea of alliances all blue to each other.
I kinda miss those old hand crafted influence maps.

0.0 space is maybe more unclaimed than ever at the moment. There's very few who even bother to rat in nullsec to be honest.
With jump bridges and bridge this and that traffic goes through jump bridges, so all together most of the time you don't see anyone even in systems which are "claimed" aka coloured in that map.
Only way to find anyone interested to actually fight for the said space is to put up sov blockade units or shoot some valuable techneticum pos. And then you usually get at least 3 times your own numbers to stand against unless you're like megablueballing.
There's plenty of completely inhabited space and systems where ppl just play with themselves at stations which even smaller alliances could claim in a sense that they can make anyone elses living there pretty painful. However with current easy mode logistics and whatever you'll just get blueballed if you try to put your name on systems to get docking rights to stations. Then these name holding alliances complain that you can come and go as you will.
I am personally starting to like good old pos bashing system more. And getting rid of incursions and wormholes could be also a good thing.
Gee.

I think the correct answer is this. You can us DOTLAN maps to find tons of systems that are unclaimed in 0.0 look for example in the Drone regions. The problem is that if you go to one of those systems and establish sovereignty, you will alert people in the general region. Typically there will eventually be an effort made to destroy you an drive you from that system.
If you are some how able to fight off the initial attack then they will just com back with more people and if necessary bring allies.
You best bet would be to work out some deal with the who ever is the most powerful in that general region either a cooperative deal or pay some monthly fee for the privilege of occupying that space. |
