I would like to thank CCP for actually taking due time and course to actualy listen to the player base and improve the game.
As many are aware, in the new devblog.. All EM armor resistances have been reduced 10%, as well as all shield EXP resistances 10%. It's great to see a logical response to a growing problem.

Seriously, all armour is the same. I personally see it as 10% less DPS mitigated to resistances, and high natural EM resistances with an EANM II or other.
Scorch S,M,L which primaries EM damage has a boost as well.
Think not of 10% less EM on your own ship, but 10% reduction on theirs.

yeah...they should think things over better...hell a cap need reduction, an introduction of explo crystals and more grid on some ships would solve all problems...

I dont understand the logic. Why nerf other races? why not just give Amarr a damage boost of some sort?
Am i the only one thinking about the knock on effects ie. missions, and shooting at POS and other things i cant think of right now.

Erm... this is the equivalent of adding 20% more damage to your lasers in the form of explosive damage. That's not enough?

nerfing eve to fix amarr is not a fix its just nerfing all tanks across eve this just mean even amar tank less but still do no more DPS ever other ship will still do more damage to you now you have weaker resistances

"By simply changing damage types or increasing raw DPS doesn't really fix the issue that EM damage is pretty much useless against armor tanking ships due to high natural resistances and the popularity of omni-tanking. We would still have EM drones and EM missiles being less useful than others if we just changed damage types on crystals or increased the damage on energy turrets."
Do people read the blogs before complaining about them?

I may have been joking btw. I think this is a good starrt on fixing amarr. This fixes the problem with lasers. Some of the ships still need tweaking so they arent laughably bad anymore *cough*omen*cough*

will this tanking nerf also apply to rats? does this mean amaar will do more damage to guristas too?
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
Originally by: ragewind nerfing eve to fix amarr is not a fix its just nerfing all tanks across eve this just mean even amar tank less but still do no more DPS ever other ship will still do more damage to you now you have weaker resistances
What you see: I fly Amarr, now my ship gets 10% less resist on EM, wtf?
What CCP sees: Hmm, the user base is complaining about Amarr not doing enough damage. They're stuck to EM and Thermal damage, which would explain it. PvP is a lot about armor tanking and armor has high EM resist. EM... hmm... Yeah, I've also noticed the user base saying EM drones are pretty worthless, because of the high EM resist for armor. EM missiles, too, are rarely used, and then only to tear through the shields so they can switch to another damage type for armor.
Let's try to solve all these thing with one, simple change. 10% less resist for EM on armor. That would make EM drones a little more useful. That would make EM missiles a little more useful. And that would give Amarr blasters a boost, too!
Stop thinking about your own darned self and look at the big picture. If that still doesn't do it for you, instead of making stupid whine posts after just reading the dev blog, take it to the test server and try things out yourself. See if it actually does make your blasters better. No, Amarr vs. Amarr with both tanking EM + Thermal won't do it. If you really care about "The Amarr Problem" try all kinds of tests. If you feel this change is wrong, prove it on the test server. Then come whine with your results.
Read the dev blog, realize it's not only about buffing Amarr, and/or to make this proposed "Amarr buff" they don't also want to boost shield tanking too much at the same time, then come back to the thread, mkay?
That was a needed "balance" fix because shield tanks were already so damn good that everyone used them in PvP.
On a more serious note - who does explosive damage anyway? Who cares?
Yes, and this solution for the "Amarr buff" also had to reduce Explosion resist for shields to keep things balanced at the same time... is my point, jackhole.
What the hell are you people talking about? Alot of shieldtanked ships outperforms armortanks in PvP. They are excellent at taking a ****load of damage for a shorter amount of time.
And is able to tackle the opponent at the same time? Yeah, shield tankers can fit well into groups, but armor tankers have mid slots free for PvP essentials like webber, jammer, AB/MWD, etc. (EDIT: without having to sacrifice their tank)
P.S. And you don't want to take a crapload of damage for a shorter amount of time, you want to take a crap load of damage for a longer amount of time. If for a shorter amount of time, you die faster.
