That said, it is eminently sad that in order to obtain consistent positive military results over time in fleet battles, the actual state of the game usually rewards those understanding which specific game mechanics somewhat allow lag to be used as an indirect weapon by exerting a more pronounced effect on your opponent than your own forces. Anyhow, if you take into account that lag has plagued EvE since 5 years soon, the current state is just the mere reflection of how immature the customer base behaves considering that we are talking about paying subscribers. If the the major alliances could find the common wisdom to declare a weekly logoff day to protest against lag until EvE provides the services it's marketed for, alarm bells would ring through CCP and we could maybe not get lag fixed overnight, but still would probably speed up implementing improvements. After all, no business likes to make front page news of the specialized press because after 5 years down the drain, a significant share of its customers have lost patience and are asking for the product to finally support the kind of multiplayer interaction it is supposedly intended to deliver.
