When you hop into a jump clone which has no implants, how does this affect whatever you're currently training? Does it still continue according to the implants in your main, or do the completion times adjust based on your current clone?
Does it even let you jump clone if you're currently training something? (i.e. it doesn't let you plug in an implant whilst training).

You must pause your skill training before jumping to any clone, regardless of implants. When you resume skill training on the active clone (don't forget!), the skill training time will reflect the attribute value of the active clone. (Meaning that if you jump from a clone with implants to one without, your skill training will slow down). |

To change jump clones you need to pause your current skill training. After jumping, your skill training time will be recalculated with the implants that you have when you resume training.

Thanks for the info, that's what I feared.
That kinda sucks really if you're a new character and want to focus on training to make your character as viable as it can be as quickly as possible.

Edited by: pandymen on 12/02/2008 23:23:49 Yup, well, that's the trade off for jump clones. While you can protect your implants by making a naked clone, you lose all the benefits of the implants.
It's risk v. reward. If you think it's really worth the increased training speed, then feel free to jump around 0.0 with implants.
On a side note, you do realize you shouldn't ever lose your pod in lowsec if you know what you are doing. As your ship is going down, left click on any body in system you can warp to. On the "selected item" window, begin to spam the "warp to 0" button before your ship blows up and continue clicking it as fast as you can.
Unless you get horrid lag (and often despite it), your pod will almost insta jump. In 0.0, if you are in a bubble, this obviously won't work....but in lowsec, you don't have to worry about bubbles, and it is also highly unlikely that interceptors will agress you anyway due to sentry guns(an inty with 2 sensor boosters can catch pods before they warp).
Edit: just figured I'd let you know how to save ur implants if you do decide to fly with implants in.

Another useful fact about pods, clones and training.
If you get podded, the effect of the implants doesn't wear off until you change your skill training.
Thus, if you're unfortunate enough to lose your +5 implants on your second day of training a month long skill, don't change skills!! When you start a new skill, the effect of the implants will be lost.
The reason this is different to jump clones is that you don't have to pause your training to get podded (it wouldn't make sense - "hang on, I just have to pause training before you pod me"???). When you wake up in your medical clone, the system doesn't recalculate training time.
Cheers Falka

Let's say your training clone has a full set of +5 and a full set of +5% hardwires. Then your pvp clone has only two +4 for the skill you are going to train and a +3% hardwire. It's not that big of a difference.
