Accessibility to the market from the web would be cool too. eVEbay would be better to surf from work than ebay!

Defo a good idea although limit it to 3 or 4 skills in the queue , either web based or queued in the game (preferred option is queued in game).

Hey, this gets my vote... damn annoying when it takes half an hour to log into Eve (I blame AOL) when at home, or I just don't have the time to sit and watch things load.
I agree with limiting the list/having skill continuity. hile some'd argue that it'd just mean people wouldn't log in that just isn't true: how else are you going to A) Earn the money for the skills? B) Get the skills C) decide which order to put them in?
frankly profit / input doesn't justify "making" an account to sell. Also, people who may even TRY that would be aVERY small percentage, if even in existence.
So, my vote!

I'll vote for that too. It's bad for players going away on holiday for a week or two. They should have the oppertunity to remote train their skills, there's several bandwidth benefits for CCP too.

I, like most others, give the idea of web-based training all of my support. Work often gets in the way of training. queing skills would also rock

Another night of sitting at work while my character is not skill training
This is due to me not remembering to switch to a long skill (10 days) before heading to work. If this idea were implemented i would be able to switch...

This is not something that is wanted to be done.
This is not something that should be done.
This is beyond both of those things, this is something that * needs * to be done.
There comes a point where CCP needs to cede just a hair's breadth of control of the game to the community, and this is it.
Not having this, means loss of revenue for CPP, from people who will not maintain their accounts due to not being able to perform simple maintenance on their characters.
All of these features should be implemented in a web-based secure format :
* changing and queueing of skill training * reading and posting EVEmail * chatting in in-game channels
This is not about the spirit of the game, this is about the revenues of CCP, which will permit this game to stay alive longer and stronger than without it.

This is the umpteenth time something like this came up. The last time it was asked somewhere, Pann (relaying Hellmar's response) was something along the lines of "We need more people logging in, not less".
And I agree. Eve is not about managing your character remotely from a site, it is logging in and doing your stuff that counts. If you want to lose as little skillpoints as possible, plan ahead.
Web-training is never going to happen, live with it.

yeah that is a good argument i guess....pity because it does help maintain interest when not available to play.

If web training were to not be implemented even against overwhelming public outcry... I would settle for some type of que system, even just one skill ahead, and if you have to have restrictions, make it so you can only que a skill you already know, like if your training Mining 3, you cant que Mining 4.
But I would love Web training, it would mean so much less pain than having to look at my Character Sheet on the website at work and see that no skills are being trained.

I don't think it will maintain interest.
What interest can there be if you can just log into the site, and not even have to worry, or get anxious about getting home in time?

I dont get worried or anxious, i get ****ed off...On the other hand i have heard from other sources that this idea is not going to happen. From what i hear CCP has already decided against this a long time ago.
Although i do like the idea about Qued skillz. Of coarse maybe only 1 or 2 at the most should be allowed. To use the qued option there should be a skill for it too. Learning lvl 5 a pre req.

The need for this feature is based upon the lack of the ability to login, which makes this argument invalid. All this feature would allow you to do is change which skill you are training. You still have to buy skills, fly them somewhere, and train them in the actual console. I seriously doubt that the times when ppl login for about 30 secs to switch a skill affects CCP's attempt to break "record conncurent users", and if this actually were a problem, they could just count eve insider logins.

I did'nt read evey response for lack of time here at work so I apologize if someone has already mentioned this...
I was thinking of being able to select multiple skills you want to train and they would train in a domino effect so that when the firts training finishes it will automatically start training the next until all skills selected to train have finihed training. Maybe have a maximum of only able to que 5 skills to train in this domino way at a time.

CCP asked recently about sending SMS messages whenever things happened in the Eve world, for things like completion of skills and so on. The general opinion seemed to be that it wasn't very useful if you couldn't actually do anything about them.
Giving us the facility to manage training through the web site would make that idea a lot more viable, and that would earn CCP additional income from providing the SMS service since they were talking about it being a premium service with an extra cost attached.
Personally, I'd like to see the ability to manage your training through the web site. This would actually benefit the newer players more than the established player-base, because they have lots of skills at low level that need only a couple of hours to complete. The established players have skills that take days or weeks to train, so can make far better use of their offline time.
If we can't get that, I'd like to see either queueing of skills to train (limited queue of maybe 3 skills) or the option of letting a skill keep training up to the next level when the current one completes.
I have unrestricted web access at work, but can't install any games on my PC and am sitting behind multiple firewalls that restrict external access to practically anything else. This means that I can only get online in Eve for about 3 hours in the evenings during the week, and have to choose skills very carefully to ensure I have something long-duration to train for the following 21 hours. It also means I have a lot of low-rank skills sitting at level 2 because the 4-6 hours needed for level 3 will waste practically the entire next day's possible training.
I'm a relative newbie, so I'd be one of those that would benefit most if this was currently available. By the time it is likely to be implemented, I'll have joined the ranks of established players and no longer need it as much. It would still be very useful to me though.

I'm a newly newbie ( ) and I'll really like the opportunity to train my skill (or at least 1 skill per day) from the web interface.
Why ? because I'm not playing all days and some times, I connot play for weeks because of my familly life and work. So I would really appreciate to begin some training while at work (I can't launch Eve at work, my boss would kill me and I'm always in clients offices).
Maybe limitating the train skill with the web interface to 1 or 2 ?
Thanks a lot to Devs if it's possible

Good ideas indeed, I hardly can play 4 hours a day compromising my sleep to wait to switch skill traninig and hoping i will have a skill that will take longer than 19 hours or so to train till i get back from sleep+work. Well. So far lots of unused time.

Yes yes, you want people signed in to train, not sitting on a webpage. Does it really matter to you to have us signed in for 45 seconds while we train a skill? This wouldn't encourage me to play less, nor would it make me play more. I work 10-6pm, and everyday I get home I want to play! Training while at work would be great! I think the follow are wonderful ideas!
- Web-based Skilling - External EVE-Mail - External Chat (EQ has it) - Skill Queuing. Offer it as a skill, pre-req Learning 5.

As for as web enabling anything, Eve is after all, on the hosting side, a huge relational database which simply holds the users data and responds to requests from the client for such data. In today's world there are very few modern databases which do not have the ability to link to a website in some fasion of manner, except for custom in home built ones.
As far as Queueing goes an average first year C++ college programmer could write an object oriented C++ queue in a few hours.
So there has to be some good reason, other than CCP wanting to be a complete pain in the subscriber's ass or plain stupidity and ignorance (not that I am ruling that one out mind you), why they would not and really have not already done this!
If we look at the sheer volume of posts from people wanting this, versus the relative number, er rather lack of, people who can come up with good arguments against this it should be clear this is in the interests of keeping the gaming spirit alive. (By good argument i mean arguments which can stand up to basic common sense) After all, my frustration with having to spend hours attached to Earth and Beyond just to gain a few levels was one of the reasons I quit playing the game!
A game should be fun and draw you in and keep you attached to it. EVE should not be frustrating, agnozing, or painful (unless you as a user did something stupid and got your ass tweaked) EVE should be fun and entertaining! Which is the main reason anyone would buy a game in the first place. Who in their right mind would buy a game which they know will cause them endless amounts of pain, suffering, and frustration without any real enjoyment. After all if i want pain, suffering, and frustration all i have to do is walk outside my front door! I play EVE because I think it is fun! I play EVE because I like to explore its universe because I have seen my own and it is too frustrating to deal with!
CCP WE NEED YOUR INPUT ON THIS!!! PLEASE RESPOND!
