Though if for some reason web-based training wouldn't be added, along with queuing niether, could CCP at least make it, as some people above have said, that once you finish learning a level of a skill, you automatically learn the next level of the same skill, only stopping once you get to Lv 5. ---------------------------------------- Space-Slacker |

you got my support altho i dont have the problem but would be great as a back up if the old technical difficulties reared their ugly heads as they so ever increasingly often do and at the end of the day eve does belong to the players so i would support their right to help or suggest improvements which benefit the unfortunates who have to graft for a living and therefore miss out on aspects such as training while at work...cos we all know its all about the skills

This is an awesome idea!
I have thought of this before, but I never got around to posting it on the forums.
Right now I am a student (k-12), and I don't always (actually never) have access to my skill training from the school computers. This would help me so I can set skills like during a break or my lunch.
-------------------------
Personally I would like the idea of having a queue for skills, but that also would encourage people to not lo in as much and load up their queue and then leave for a long time. The game would be alot more empty and vacant. In this perspective, I do not agree.

I agree to This web based program, it is a good idea if someones pc crashs and they are unable to log on, it means that they can continue there skill training at another external source without losing out on skill training whilst there PC is repaired. 2 thumbs up here

Originally by: Discorporation Eve is not about managing your character remotely from a site, it is logging in and doing your stuff that counts. If you want to lose as little skillpoints as possible, plan ahead.
Web-training is never going to happen, live with it.
100% agree... In the most MMO(R)PGS you couldnt even view your character stats on a website...

like many that have posted to this thread i cant belive that ccp havent stuck train skill to their website especially when u can see whats training at the moment.
and again i had thought about a skill queue to especially when on holiday at work etc, games like civilisation 3 have a build queue so why can we to have a queue?
glad someone posted this thread....note to self make sure the next 5 page thread is urs ---------------------------------

If there was a skill automation implementation, all someone would have to do is:
1. Find an ISK-rich friend 2. Start your skill list 3. Wait about 3-4 months 4. Have a pretty good character, without logging in once!
Now, the web-based thing is a pretty good idea, my motherboard fried and while I'm waiting for my new ASUS to come, I could be training skills but... NO! Why should I sign something that isn't mine?

Well, I'm sure there's a reason why CCP hasn't added web-based skill training (I mean, you can already see all your skills and how much time is left for your current in-training in the EVE-Insider). Why? because if you didn't need to login ever, they wouldn't be breaking any 1*k barriers Why should I sign something that isn't mine?

I find it very disturbing that CCP has not said one single word in this thread, in their own forums, about this topic.

I beleive this is a very good idea considering the fact that everyone doesnt have time to get home, turn on the game, change skills. Most of the time people dont even have the time to get home. A lot of people actually work most of the day, therefore wasting the time inbetween skills. We are allowed to view our skills, see whats training, and how much time left until its done. So why not allow us to change the skill training itself. It would be a lot simpler to incorperate this into the game rather then incorperate my "Study Guide" Skill suggestion. Also, to YK, explain yourself, why dont you like it? the fact that you dont like it leaves me to beleive your young and have all the time in the world to be on the computer. _____________________________________________________ Life Is Only 9 Months Long, Everything After That Is Death. |

I agree, this needs implementing badly. Some way other then the client to change skills being trained is good, The website seems the most logical.
The queue idea is nice but could be exploited I guess but who cares...
PS if this looks like a bump well...it is...

I would kill a man for this feature. I often have to go days without being able to train skills because I'm not near my home PC, and I'm not exactly allowed to install EVE at work.
All the arguments against web-based skill training so far are completely irrelevant, because I'm UNABLE TO LOG IN, that's why I want web-based skill training.

Web based skill training would make character farming a lot easier.
I'm not saying everyone would do it. They probably wouldn't. Lord knows there are times I'd like to have been able to log at work and change my skill training.
Unfortunately, for every 10 people that play this game legitimately there is one that just wants to milk the crap out of it.
After the first couple of months, setting a longer skill training isn't a big deal. So if you go out of town (which I do frequently) training industrial 5 at 20 days isn't really a problem per se. __________________________________

Talk about dragging up the bottom of the board...!
Anyway, I vote against this. My reasons are just that I think you should be in game in order to alter the game universe.
In other words: I have no real reason, I just don't really support the idea.

I have been a member for almost two months on eve and I think it is an amazing game. I agree with the comments posted here as i would love to train my character at work but cannot and a web based system to do that would be great. However I cannot believe that CCP has not responded that any of these 30 or so comments to let everyone know what they think and what they will do as it seems almost 95% of the posts here are asking for this addition.
CCP will you not even respond to these questions...Why have a discussion board when the owner doesnt even respond. or do they not even realise users are asking for this feature?

This would be a useless feature. To alter the game, log in. No chance to login, no gaming experience. Anyway, why care about "a lost day, week" whatever. It¦s just a game!!

This is not a new idea, it's as old as EVE and has been thrashed out in many threads.
THE DEVS WONT DO IT - WHY? I REALLY DON'T KNOW.

This has been over done, and its an old post. CCP wants people to play the game. The Devs have said this many many times. It will never ever ever ever happen.
