Just did the mensa test and got invited to participate in an extended test because the basic test scored me in the top 2%.
However it costs 37,25 euro. I don't need to be intelligent to know THAT is extortion. :P .

Well if the scores in this thread are anything to go by they should adjust the scores down quite a bit to get an average of 100 again.

Edited by: Nu Wa on 15/02/2008 16:18:36 This test is crap because when I took a longer IQ test a couple years ago and got 132. When I took this I got "above 160" (which is bull****)... the difference being I had no time limit on this test so I was able to take my time to figure it out.
The whole thing is pointless IMO, someone really smart could've been impatient and get a lower score. And mediocre people like me could spend a whole hour on it and do better.

I'm with you on that, after seeing the numbers reported in this thread I figured it wasn't worth taking. That said my IQ, as determined by some professionally administered test they gave me when I was like 6, is in the low 140's. To give you guys an idea of what an IQ in the low 140's actually translates to, I'm doing well working on a degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT (check the host of my sig if you don't believe me). Not that high IQ guaranties anything, especially in the US where the population of people with an IQ over 130 has the same high school dropout rate as the national average. Gee, maybe we shouldn't be spending 7 times as much on students with an IQ below 70 as we do on those with an IQ above 130....

I've taken other tests, and depending on my mood, I run between 129 and 143. Not genius, but respectable.
Put it this way, if you're IQ is over 100, you're at least capable of carrying on a conversation, and thus capable of handling the worst EVE can throw at you.
While I might not like some people in this game, I'm not going to point the finger at any of them and call them "stupid".

I've taken a couple of timed IQ tests, one of them twice: 158, 162, 165, so I figure it's good enough.
I also scored 99th percentile on the ASVAB when I went into the Air Force, so I figure the IQ tests can't be that far off the mark. 92 92 99 96 was my actual percentile breakdown between the four different subjects, so I was told that's actually top 10% of the top 1%. WOOT! lol
They wanted me to go into intel, but I had a bill go to collections when I was 14, so that was out (Columbia House CD deal). Oh well. I guess the Air Force screwed themselves. lol I ended up in Munitions, and got kicked with a general discharge for falling asleep on duty twice...don't expect smart people to be able to stay awake while doing the work of the average.

So, you were so smart, that you couldn't even handle the work of the average? Something seems a bit lopsided with that reasoning.

ASVAB is crap tbh... You can score lower (say around 76) and still have higher scores in each category than someone who scored 99.
And according to that site... my IQ is 153. I say: Lies! Before anyone flames me, because we all know this is not true

A score of 160 corresponds to 99.9968% if it was the 15 point standard deviation version (most common) and 99.9912% if using the 16 point standard deviation version. That's damn high.

146, but these things aren't accurate. They are limited in scope. The actual IQ tests ask so many more questions and delve deeper in analytical and abstract problems. But IQ isn't everything in any case here. Only your ability to own.

145 here, but as many have pointed out, tests like these are hopelessly limited to this explicit type of problem solving.
Real life intelligence is so much more, they have so far been categorized into 7? degrees of intelligence: Musical, physical, social, mathematical, linguistic, spacial and... umm... forgot the last one.

Sorry about the caps, but people didn't read it the first time I wrote it. Tends to be general consensus that people read things when you put it in all caps.

Lol, forgive me for trying to inform you in a humorous manner. (And you think I'm the one that needs to chill.) Sorry, maybe for you I should have added a few more smileys at the end so you would have gotten that the all caps thing WAS A JOKE.
EDIT: And no, for me, email was the end of the IQ test. Next page had a form with all asterix, where they were really trying to trick you into giving them info. Just ignore that, hit OK on the pop up dialog or whatever. You still get your email.

I got a 780/800 on the math part.

Thats funny, I got a 1200 with the non math part being that kinda high, and the math pretty damn low. Give me the other half of my brain you thief @.@

lol i was expecting a 400verbal/800math or something, ended up with 600something in both.
i believe i took the psat went to some bs class (turns out some of my friends were in in and whatnot and they came high most of the time so we just messed around the whole time) and then 1300 on sat (of 1600). my parents also got me a practice sat book... never got opened.
if i gave a **** i could have done a 14-15 easy.
my iq, meh, dont like the find the pattern, or this jumble is a kind of <insert noun here>
