BIG will once again host betting for the Alliance tournament.
This time the 5th Alliance Championships (AT5)
The AT5 website is now live, and you can start making your bets!!!
(link might get updated to something nicer once DNS records have propagated)
So - What excactly do we offer?
We offer the standard "bet on the team you think will win overall", but also a range of other bet types
We even offer "late entry" bets, which is bets made *after* the tournament has started!
- Who will win overall (early entry).
- Who will win overall (late entry).
- Who will make it to the semifinals (early entry).
- Who will make it to the semifinals (late entry).
- Who will win a particular group (early entry).
- Who will make it to round 2 (early entry).
(The two best of each group goes through to round 2)
Bets have to be made before round 1 starts (2008.02.29 15:00)

On the site you'll among other things find the "Bet Calculator", making it a bit easier to determine excactly what to put in the infobox when you transfer your ISK to BIG Games.
Make sure to use it, if at all in doubt about what to enter in the infobox.
Updating of bets is done automatically via the EVE API, so the text entered needs to be spot on for the program to recognize it.
Any mistake and your bet will be treated as a BIG Lottery entry!
(and any amounts above the max for the BIG Lottery will be treated as a donation - Thank you very much!)
On the site you will also be able to see the bets already made! (look for the link on the "Betting" page)
Apart from the betting we naturally also supply the full schedule for the tournament (which is sortable by group and time!), and group makeups.
Lots of info there - And all in one place!

Hmm so with type 6 bets you can't win any ISK unless people bet on two other teams in the same bracket ?

uhm - Not sure what you mean...
To win with a type 6 bet, you just need to predict a team that will make it to round 2 (16 out of 40 teams will)
In order to win anything (as with any other bet type), someone will have to have guessed wrong.
The value of the wrong bets gets distributed among those who got it right (proportionally to the size of the bets)
(thats the short non technical, not including admin fee, explanation)

Bit sad (for the winners) really..
Only a couple of days to get the (early) bets in now...
Sad part is, that I think most people arent even aware that they can bet...
Not *that* many are reading these forums afterall...

Might have somethin to do with the fact that we still don't know for sure who all is and isn't in the tourney. I know I don't really feel like betting while I still don't know who's taking Red Skull's place, for instance.

This site doesnt even have the right teams. I think the UCAM guys should file a discrimination lawsuit, BIG should have their CONCORD gaming license revoked
