Its the box thingy that changes once every 100 years. Or to be more precise, tells us there is an issue with eve two hours after the forums have exploded and figured out there is an issue ourselfs.
" Trinity 1.0.2 patch deployed during extended downtime today. Due to issues with the autopatcher there will be some delay in opening the server for player connections."

come one guys i think ccp is doing their best to solve this little problem we just have to have a bit patience. the server is online 23 hours 7 days a week it is not a big problem if the server is offline 3 hours more.
(but i stil hope ccp can solve this fast :P)

Most online games I play have a server open 24/7... And it IS a problem if we loose skill training time

if you notice login motd now it will state that there was an issue with the autopatcher.... i remmedied my side of it by albeit i'm running vista :\ 1.downloading patch. 2.restart comp(to be safe) 3.goto computer>users>*username*>appdata>local>ccp>eve>bin> then you should see the patch you downloaded here.. 4. now with eve closed start the patch.. it will patch.. 5.when finished>hit start eve now
what i see now is "not accepting connections" and a varying # of players as dev's roam around the servers i guess making sure everything is alright.. cheers and i hope someone can post versions for mac and linux

Edited by: Davy OBrian on 19/02/2008 14:41:37 Possibly Good News: [of course you CCP guys should translate that for our windozers]
If you didn't changed something: Thats what I did on my linux Client to move from incompatible protocol to the message: player connections aren't accepted currently (its all in german here so its no one-to-one quote):
I moved to my EVE Online/c_drive/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/CCP/EVE/dd7d3d04d133729bde20677ec76f5d63
folder and did
mv compiled.code XY
to move the "compiled.code" file away.
This behaviour is reproducible by doing
mv XY compiled.code ---> giving Protocol Error
hehe, buy me a beer for that !

aww and my skill training just got finished too (forgot patch was today, usually I pick one for at least 24 hours on patch day, still you'd expect the server to be up by 14:49)

Ya know, if you delete this file it won't let you start. I don't know where your supposed to "move" it as windows = different. -=-=-=-

Stop whinig try this ! http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=708419&page=2#44
For you windozers:
Go to your whatever so called home folder and find "Application Data\CCP\EVE\[whatever here some hex string]"
and rename "compiled.code" into "anything-but-not-compiled.code" and try to restart again. Actually linux "mv" command is the same as windows rename file click-around-or-press-f2 thingy

Unfortunately all I got was a message saying the client was already compatible, then it goes straight to the invitation to launch client and still says 'incompatible protocol' |

Renaming compiled.code works - if u can't see the folder just do start>search>files n folders: compiled.code (specify ur c: drive if that's where ur profiles are kept) then rename to compiled.old BINGO. |

Since your so ignorant and don't listen. Even if you rename the file. you get this Error.
"You EVE client installation may have been modified, damaged, or corrupt files. Please Re-install the game client file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\script\compiled.code not found." -=-=-=-

Getting same message, figured I'd add to the list :>
Suggestion.......a few testers would be a good idea,I mean really, your game is great, but these bugs in the patching could use some work.
