We have run into a small problem with deploying Trinity 1.0.2 patch. This meaning the patch will be delayed just a little bit more. Currently we do not have an ETA on when the server will be fully functional, but we appreciate your patience. Good things are always worth the wait

Little bit: see soon. Soon (tm) - CCP Games (c) 2008. "A term used for unknown durations of time. Can be used to express weeks, months or years aswell as minutes and hours. Most commonly used bout th ings where you expect to **** up and use far more time than at first planned."

So basically a small group of people couldn't log on so we had to have a 3 hour downtime so a hotfix could fix this. However the hotfix merely makes it so NOONE can log in.

Unless it seemed to work like that every week, then we'd have to organise player gatherings around patch days, whereby lots of people go to a players house and chant START together whilst continually rebooting the EVE client.

honest answer please Saint, is it fun, to work for a company that manages to fail in about EVERY patch they deploy, that never makes it to finish an "issue" by the time they tell they would? to always be the one who needs to apologize to a growing number of - sorry for the openness - ****ED OFF customers?
oh: and btw. changing the servers from not accepting some connections to not accepting any connections at all is not fixing the issue ;)

Just change the name then. If you lose all your settings you can just name it back and not play. Fwiw I haven't lost any settings doing this.
Also one issue can be spread across many files, it's rarely just one line of code that needs altering.

Start a command line window. (e.g. START->run->"cmd"+enter)
type: "cd \"+enter
type: "dir compiled.code /s/p"+enter
a list will show up like this:
