Shares owned by myself : 9800 Shares owned by other investors: 0 Remaining shares : 6200
Price per share: 1,000,000 isk. Dividends: min 5%. First trench will pe payed in the 25'th of March. Funding timeframe: 25th Feb is the last day I'll take in isk then I'll start with whatever is there. Char receiving the money: Yougotripped
Introduction:
Given the time requirements, multiregional trading has always been an elusive goal at best and something impossible to afford for most of us. While it is true that I'm exceptionally low on time right now, I found it I can always take time to run this IPO by revising my daily schedule and making full use of multitasking while putting forth an extremely optimized business plan.
I've been playing Eve for quite some time now, being drawn to the economical aspect of the game rather than PVP. As such, I've quite enjoyed myself trading or ripping people off whatever you want to name it) to the point I've asked some of my friends to play the game too and decided to start a corporation, each of us fulfilling more or less specialized roles.
Currents assets include:
Mission running ships: 4.6 billions. Mining ships: 100 mills. Freighter: 1 bill.
Various T1 BPOs: 3.5 bills.
Minerals: more than 100 mils. Salvage parts: 250 mils
Cash: Corp wallet: 100 mills. Escrow: roughly 50 mills
TOTAL: 9,800,000,000
For the purpose of this IPO I'll allocate 2 accounts. Each of them has a production char. In addition to this I will create some new trading alts for the designed purpose of this IPO.
Business plan:
As you might have guessed this IPO is in fact a multiregional recycling operation supplemented by manufacturing and own mission running if needed. I will dispatch a number of freshly created trading alts to all the major regions placing limited range buy orders for the most profitable (read volume * ROI/piece) level 4 mission loot. 48 orders per region is not much and I'm aware that I might miss some less profitable items, however what makes this IPO unique is the added ability of each and everyone of one you to directly influence the profitability of your investment through selling (via normal market or contracts) your mission loot/salvage to me / the alt in charge of whatever region you're in. Their names / base operating station will be revealed to you prior to launching.
The obtained minerals / salvage parts will be used to manufacture a steady flux of T1 ships and rigs any excess minerals being dumped in Jita. The aim here is to ensure full time production for the BPOs even if that means supplementing some mineral types like zydrine from the local market.
Risks:
By going through this scenario just once you must have realized that in due time competition will drive the prices up for whatever I'm buying and profits will decrease slowly. I am counting on this, depending on how fierce the competition sooner or later I will enforce Jita buy prices in those regions, however this comes at the cost of reducing my orders range to minimize the time spent gathering stuff, mineral prices volatility. Since the last stage is manufacturing this risk is less important, nevertheless present.
Projected profits:
Using high ROI orders in just one region and discontinued production I was able to turn a 2 bills bond, 12% per month interest into 4.5 bills. I'll take that as the base profitability level.
In the event something doesn't go as planed, mission running will be used bring the profits to the minimum 5%. Currently running L4 missions nets at least 50 mills per day minimum.

Edited by: YouGotRipped on 19/02/2008 16:17:26 Profit will be divided as follows:
My salary will consist of 50% of the total profit. 25% allocated to expanding the NAV. I might decide to buy additional BPOs if the mineral flux dictates it or I might anchor a high sec POS and start some copying/invention jobs when the skills allow it. 25% of the total profit distributed to investors as dividends.
Buyback:
Shares buyback is available after 1 month (starting 25th of March) being covered from the 25% profit allocated to expanding the IPO.

I just get this really strong feeling like it's only a matter of time before you cut and run. It may be this IPO, or it may be the next 10b one, or the 30b one after that.
Good luck anyway I guess, I hope I am wrong but I shudder whenever I see your name asking for public investment.

If that is your business plan, you are flatly not qualified to run this business.
If you don't know why, try actually doing what your IPO plans to do for a few hours and see if you start to understand.
Sorry, better luck next time. And, no, as--full disclosure here--I'd be a direct competitor, I have absolutely no interest in correcting your mistake(s).

Yes I'm aware that Delakut is being pushed hard with his Jita recycling op.
I will eventually end up in Jita and give him a hand, however as long as there is a price difference between Forge and other regions I will exploit that first.
My alts however will remain in other regions as price updating there is not so frequent. The goal here is to minimize the cycle time money -> money and this business plan is as optimized as possible.

I think the people calling scam already are a little premature. Being a bit unlikeable and having a name like "YouGotRipped" doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a good businessman. I haven't personally seen anything from YouGotRipped that would make me strongly thing he would scam. Then again, he hasn't exactly done much to make himself look trustworthy.
Anyway, some things that came up:
Firstly, you say you have 4.6b in mission ships. An impressive figure. However, none of the characters you have named in this thread look like mission running chars... but one of your production alts has some nice CN standing (which he got from another char). This makes me think that you aren't actually using full disclosure here. What character is your mission running character?
I also see a whole lot of failed courier contracts in your contract history/your corps contract history. My assumption would be that you found the goods were more valuable than the collateral... which isn't a big deal, but it doesn't say much for you.
I'm assuming Ewigkeit is your own personal corp - it's the title of this thread and one of your alts is the CEO. But I see 12 characters in it (4 accounts worth) and you've only disclosed 6 characters here. Would you care to comment on the nature of the corp you're in? Coincidentally, the corp standings don't really reflect that of a big mission runner, either.

I mean, sure, he's trying to insult me but we get tons of idiots like him passing through and trying to bring down the "establishment" because we warn people not to throw their ISK at them but what I really walk away from this with is the sense that I'm thought of -at least by him- as one of the old guard. Heh, a while back the first time someone used my name in this same manner I had the same reaction you did. It started to become a bit less odd, but when I do stop to think about it I can't help but remember being the new guy who no one around here knew. Of course Ricdic wasn't extremely well known back then either, he definitely wasn't the ultra-trusted name he is today. Ionia, DS, PP, Eefrit, and others were big back then... now almost all of them have barely been around. DS does make a cameo every now and then though. Stacking Penalty / Resists Explained |

Yeh it's kinda funny how things work out. My first appearance on these forums was the countess oracle GPSx issue two years and four days ago and since then I have stuck to the MD forums like glue.
I wouldn't necessarily agree that Eefrit/Ionia were well trusted names back then, they weren't barely known in MD. The regulars back then were Elange4, Erfnam, Argenton, Ferossa etc.
Really, Eefrit and Ionia showed up, hung around for a few months, got their invesmtents hung around for a little bit and left.
I would probably say I am one of the only people left from that era still trolling the MD forums on a daily basis.

I will not go to extreme lengths to convince anyone this isn't a scam. For 6.2 bills this just isn't worth my time. Also I took the liberty of providing only info I deemed necessary and ignored the official IPO template.

My own interest in mission running is limited. I've already named my mission running alt.
However I believe you missed a couple of lines:

I am in no position to tell my friends how to play a game. Nor would I ever do such a thing. I merely handle trading. Though we've bumped into the standings issue when dealing with R&D agents, all I can tell you is that it's being looked at and we might need to create another corp for those that are still active and committed to the game. I and my alts will remain in the old corp.
As for the rest, keep in mind this is an IPO thread. Refrain from derailing or discussing anything else than the issue at hand.

Easiest way to avoid derailment, don't engage in forum fencing. After all, it is your post that they are discussing. You opened the door, they are running with it. Otherwise, if you hadn't started the derailment itself, I'd just report their posts as "derailment" and let the mods handle it. (That's just some advice from my own experiences.)

Otherwise, if you hadn't started the derailment itself, I'd just report their posts as "derailment" and let the mods handle it. (That's just some advice from my own experiences.)

Posts like this are exactly why I'd never, for any reason, give you any ISK.
It's an off-hand worthless post that means nothing. Perhaps you think you're being witty somehow. Perhaps you think it's a comeback. Perhaps it's just meant as a flame. Who knows. In reality it is a clear sign of your professionalism. If you aren't professional in your own IPO thread then why should anyone expect you to be professional in your IPO?
There are so many reasons to stay far away from this, I'll name a few:
1. Name 2. Your attitude 3. Your past trolling on this forum 4. Lack of professionalism 5. No reason given to trust you 6. No reputation (at least not a good one) 7. Name Stacking Penalty / Resists Explained |

You think a 2 bil bond is something that will garner you any sort of reputation when you behave as you do on these forums? Not to mention the pattern that may be coming out of this.
First you did 2 bil, now you're doing 5 bil, next 10-15, then 30+, then 50+, then 100+ if you make it that far without cutting and running. Stacking Penalty / Resists Explained |

I get my thrill from trading, refining my methods / exploring the economical aspect of Eve. Money are a means to an end not a purpose in itself. In regards to funds, 6.2 bills is a reasonable amount for what I plan to accomplish and I assure you this is the last time you'll see me asking for funding, yet I'm afraid I'll stick around on these forums for quite a while from now on.

YouGotRipped,
at the risk of derailing the thread & with regard to "concern" over your "name":
you may want to take a look at Chapter 6 of the book "Freakonomics", titled "Perfect Parenting Part II: Would Roshanda by any other name small as sweet?".
here is the slate article summarizing the chapter in case you dont own the book: http://www.slate.com/id/2116449/
it's an interesting premise about "names" and their socio-economic impact.

One day a disciple met Zen Master Harold coming down the road, avoiding ants and eating a stick of cured beef.
"Zen Master Harold," said the disciple, "is there greater Buddha nature in a Slim Jim or a fish sandwich?"
"I have no idea," responded Zen Master Harold.
"Ah, you wish me to reflect my question back on me for further pondering," the disciple reasoned.
"No, I'm not actually a Zen master," said Zen Master Harold. "Zen Master Harold is my name".
"Oh," said the disciple. "But your book -"
"I wrote a novelization of a second-tier George Romero flick for some quick cash in the seventies," said Zen Master Harold. "What is wrong with you people?"

I gotta hand it to ya, "Ripped"... you got some big brass.
I wonder... is it some kind of reverse psychology thing? He gives himself a questionable name, so you think he must really be legit, since no one would announce they're gonna rip you off with the very name they use.
Or is it reverse-reverse psychology, and he was counting on you to think that way?
Or was his character named before he conceived this IPO, and he is simply too stupid to realize his name will be a turn-off to potential investors? Wow, could anyone really be that stupid?
Whatever the answer, I thank you for making my day with this amusing thread. My 100 mil for 100 shares is on the way. I doubt I will ever see my ISK again; indeed, I'll be deeply disappointed if I do.

Quote: I will not go to extreme lengths to convince anyone this isn't a scam. For 6.2 bills this just isn't worth my time. Also I took the liberty of providing only info I deemed necessary and ignored the official IPO template.
It's a two-way street. You may feel like it isn't worth the effort for only 6b - but the investors may decide it isn't worth the risk. And you really haven't given much in the way of assurances of any kind. I'd sooner transfer isk to one of the 10x guys spamming in Jita than invest in this IPO with the details you've given.
Quote: My own interest in mission running is limited. I've already named my mission running alt.
You spent 4.6b on a mission running ship(s) but your mission running alt has 0.69 Caldari Navy standing?
Quote: Correct.
I'm a bit put off by your failed courier missions. You entered a contract with these players; but essentially stole from them because it was a better deal. What's to stop you from doing the same with this IPO? You aren't even putting up collateral in this IPO... unlike the courier missions you ripped off. We're to believe that you'll rip off THOSE people, but not the people here in MD that you respect so much?

Edited by: YouGotRipped on 21/02/2008 07:12:34 Hahah, first of all I'm not desperate to get the funding. I would have proceeded with the plan even without whatever funds have been gathered so far. But it helped. Neither did I expect the market regulars to invest or behave any other way then they did. After all, my own business will put theirs out of order. But this is just a matter of time.
As for my name... I assure you it was worth it every letter. If you people were a little more intelligent you'd have realized that my name bears no importance to my success as a trader. Thus you'd focus on debating the business plan instead. Much to my amusement you've proven to me what I wanted to see.

By accepting a courier contract, you have made an implied promise to deliver the goods. But rather you prefer to rob the player when you discover the collateral requested was less than what you consider fair market value.
That's all well and good and fair play within the context of the game, but it does show your true character.

Your business plan is ****. You can make 1bil/day in Jita with perfect refine just from outbidding Delakut, if you're active enough. Takes more than 48 order slots though, and only lasts until Delakut goes above mineral price on every item you're messing with. Please post constructively. ~Saint |

Just minutes ago the corp lost its flagship - a faction fitted CNR worth 4.4 bills in a high sec ganking by TRI. I feel I am compelled to report this as it will increase the mission time drastically and bears some relevance to the success of this IPO. (I see you people already made up your mind anyway) In the light of recent events I might need to train corporation contracting though and issue a high number of small contracts to move whatever items I acquire between different regions.

It would take a considerable force to take down a 4.4b manned CNR. Is there a killmail available for this as I imagine you must have been carrying some pretty insane valued goods for them to even consider taking you down. I would expect they would need at least 10-20 pilots (at minimum) to take you down before concord arrived and target jammed everyone..

Tri have been suicide ganking quite a lot of high sec faction fitted mission runners recently. Dunno about the one mentioned in this thread though.

As im sure most of us know, if TRI had gotten a faction fitted faction BS kill it would have been quickly posted to their KB. Any corp/allaince would have done it quickly for the pure epeen of it.
With that said, let me provide some lack of proof to the OP's statement. Ok maybe a bit of the benifit of the doubt should be given the OP, maybe its a corpm8s CNR that is in an alt corp, maybe its not a high sec gank, maybe....your just full of bovine scatology.
--- Please note that the CNR kill I linked is from the 16th, and was the most recent faction BS kill on the TRI KB. --

The only way you would have died to those 3 battleships was if hardeners weren't on. In that sense you would have also had no shield boosting abilities (ie no-one at computer) therefore your 4.1b CNR is worth no more than a normal Raven (in terms of difficulty to hit).
Now, if you were AFK well its your/your friend's fault
If you guys were lagged out and once undock finished you were already in a pod that's petitionable.
But with 3 DG invul fields, and a Gist A Type XL there's no way 3 battleships could take you down inside the 20 second window it takes Concord to arrive in a 0.5.

I was thinking about relaunching at least in part the operation here. I would like to start really, really small for the fun of it and later if the time allows it I will expand. Any investors interested?

In case you're wondering why I'm relaunching the IPO, I believe that the time spent reading obnoxious threads about "upcoming manipulation" and so on could actually be put to good use.

You didn't close this IPO, you got no-one buying into your secured loan. However having said that I wouldn't be surprised if there are people with more money than sense buying into this anyway.
Oh, and theres a third one of your alts.
Can you post with YouGotRipped to confirm all of this, or is he banned from the forums?

Setting aside Riethe's sense of humor and Ricdic's determination to discredit any IPO that could threaten business run by Ebank's own directors and also diminish the available capital for crappy 3% Ebank accounts, I would like to remind everyone the 10% minimum return guaranteed for this IPO, my willingness to allow someone to audit my dealings and the intention to take in only small investments.

This is hilarious. You honestly think any business proposal you ever start could ever discredit EBANK? I actually gave you constructive advice in your IPO and business offerings, you are the one who somehow felt I was on this crusade to destroy you.
Quote: and also diminish the available capital for crappy 3% Ebank accounts
Absolutely. We are obviously having poor results with this. Only 280b deposited under these crappy EBANK accounts.
Quote: I would like to remind everyone the 10% minimum return guaranteed for this IPO, my willingness to allow someone to audit my dealings and the intention to take in only small investments.
1) It's not guaranteed as if you run off, disapear, get hit by a bus, the dividends won't be paid.
2) You have provided zero operational data to suggest that you have the ability to manage these returns.
3) An auditor won't protect against a scam, however it's definetly a step in the right direction.
4) Small investments? It still has the same affect if you burn 300 people for 5m each compared to 5 people at 300m each. However these 300 people would write off (or not even notice) the loss compared to the 5 that got burnt. 5) What happened to the securities you were providing? You offered a secured loan and couldn't get funding. Why do you think an unsecured IPO has a better chance of success?
Now, you can continue to troll me all you want, make up stories and falsify data however that has a direct negative impact on yourself. It shows your dishonesty in times of adversity. Alternatively you can get off your high horse and answer questions passed to you. If you fail to perform well under forum pressures why would people feel comfortable expecting you to be able to withstand your 'guaranteed' rates of return?
Now you have been posting considerably more of late (during the closure) likely to try and build forum rep and your attempts to troll me seem quite similar to those attempts made by Kyrial which ultimately resulted in him having "pity investors" go to him and him end up with a forum ban. So just be careful how you go. I have nothing against people asking me questions however I can't stand when people state opinions as fact, or fake/spin data to suit their cause (both of which you have done).

Final Note.
Don't think I have some personal vendetta against you. Checking my post history I have in some way interacted with the vast majority of businesses proposed on these forums. However first impressions generally last the longest and your first impression is your name. As much as you hate to admit it, this will be the sole limiting factor in your endeavour to do whatever it is you plan on doing here on the MD forums.

I can't compete with the lesser intelligent beings. In fact I can't even bring myself to reading your entire post. Like I said, if there are those that have doubts about my honesty or are unwilling for various reasons to give me the chance to prove that my IPO can be a success then don't invest. It's that simple.
To summarize: 10% minimum return guaranteed for this IPO, my willingness to allow someone to audit my dealings and the intention to take in only small investments.

YouGotRipped or whatever he's calling himself lately is a troll that has repeatedly failed at raising public capital thanks initially to his trolling and later to his indirect admittance that his early attempts were scams. He has so thoroughly destroyed his public reputation that he could not even get a secured public loan.
Aside from being a scammer and a troll, he has made quite a few unfounded attacks on members of this forum, particularly Ricdic. Since I have no public ventures for him to try to discredit he ripped off my sig in an effort to associate me with his scamming and trolling. He has just taken it down.
Quite frankly, I have more respect for and would sooner do business with Riethe than YouGotRipped.

How could I be a scammer if I haven't scammed anyone? Your logic is flawless and well suited for someone like you.
Now that I read your entire post Kwint, I haven't laughed so much in my entire life. The reason I altered your sig and added to it a quote from you calling me a scammer was to prove to the world you're making irresponsible claims (like usual). Now all that's missing is the bald guy to add his own view of the world and we're all set. Jesus, the MD is such in a deplorable state (unfounded claims, personal grudges, noob bashing) that it's no wonder that so many people preice their commodity above all and go for crappy 3% Ebank accounts. The IPO tag is reported to be extinct. And it's not taken from FAO's yearly report, it's a fact here.

My determination is not to be ignored either. I'm now offering a 20% minimum guaranteed return for this IPO, while adding a clause that allows me to buy back your shares at any moment. Consider your options here: it might be a scam (in which case I suggest you invest the lowest amount that you can dispense with) or it can pay off really well. The choice is yours.

Edited by: Silver Night on 05/04/2008 09:05:13 Interestingly, I just invested in two IPOs. One of which was both unsecured and by a new face hereabouts. Neither of these, naturally, was you.
It has been belabored time and again: The way to successfully get investors is to have a solid business plan, and answer questions and concerns of the community, even if you for whatever reason feel they are attacks on you. Whether they are or not isn't even relevant. Your reaction is what people judge you by.
In fact, you want personal attacks. Well reasoned, mature responses to a personal attack probably gets you more credibility than anything else. I didn't see any real personal attacks in here from anyone but you, but if they were here, you missed a golden opportunity honestly.
Unfortunately, at this point, this thread can only serve as a good lesson to future entrepreneurs on how not to try and get funding.
On a somewhat unrelated note... well, entirely unrelated... I was looking at the words investor and investors over and over in this thread, and a question occurred to me:
Would a female who invested be, in fact, an investrix? Following the convention for aviatrix, dominatrix, etc?
Edit: There is a back door to investment: Be really entertaining. For this, see Rawcola or even DRT. They are so funny, people throw money at them. TBH, I bought a rawcola share (1) for 1m isk, just to get in on the party. --------------

Really, your best bet is to make a new alt, put him in a new corporation, and start over. With full security, you should be able to start a venture for a relatively low ROI. Don't give out your alts, this is not only not needed, it isn't really desirable. And with a non-suspicious name, and a 'fresh' start, if you are really not a scammer, you might be able to make something of it. Hell, if you stick to the straight and narrow, everyone gets their money back in the end, you can even rub it in people's faces that it was really you and you ended up not being a scammer right?
It'll be like a reverse scam.
In the 2 minutes between my last post, and my hitting the 'quote' button you actually raised your return by 5 percent. This isn't going to lead to you being more believable. Unbelievable rates of return will make most people more suspicious. Though actually, not a bad plan if you are in fact a scammer. You might find a couple of people gullible enough to throw in a few billion. Try offering your plan in mission hubs. Those guys have too much money anyway. --------------

See, this is what I mean. Do you think this will make people want to invest? I can understand if you disagree with me. Thats fine. But as someone trying to garner public funds, you should handle it one of two ways: 1)Say nothing 2)Tell me you disagree in a polite manner. You can even try and poke holes in my arguments or discredit me if you want to. The key is to do it in a reasonable, well thought out way. I don't think I have ever seen someone who posted 'stfu' end up with a successful IPO.
And you notice I'm not attacking you, right? I am trying to give you helpful suggestions. Honestly, we can use more IPOs. And if it were a scam, I prefer ones that are at least entertaining and well run. A certain degree of sophistication you understand? I mean, at least you can halfway respect that (I know some of you disagree. ). --------------

Shares buyback on my behalf may occur at any given moment meaning that depending on how profitable my operation is and time expenses vs profit obtained from a possible expansion there will come a moment when my own amassed salary will be enough to ensure the continuation of the IPO operations without the isk the investors entrusted me with. At that point shares buyback will occur and the IPO will be closed, at least for the public.

I'm certain people are terrified that the return will fall to zero and will hurry to jump at this one.
Out of curiosity, why do you think more people would invest when you offer less of a return? It seems to me that if I were throwing my money away, I'd want to throw it at a person who promises to give me more than someone else.

In either case I consider YouGotRipped to be as untrustworthy as I consider Riethe. In fact I'd trust my money with Riethe over YouGotRipped even though I have a sneaking suspicion they are one and the same. Riethe may actually pay out one div or give the money back to some rare investors, YouGotRipped on the other hand is likely to just take whatever he can get as he has had no luck at all so far.
Anyone investing in this should go find a T2 BPO to invest in, as crappy an investment as they are they are better than this.

Have you ever considered the fact that I might be honest? Just by a long shot but considered it? Now put yourself in my place. Wouldn't you be irritated when there's already no way to prove your honesty yet there are these posts calling you a scammer on no evidence whatsoever and are also backed by exponential stupidity? Just to give you an example, given the nature of my IPO operations, your request that I reveal all my accounts/alts when it is clear that to avoid freighter ganking requires me not to reveal the name of the freigther pilot. You are a victim of your own limitations. Now gtfo of my sight.

The most shocking part is that you seem to not understand why people have this opinion of you. You seem to think it is others that have the issue, yet amazingly every single person seems to acquire this opinion after reading the way you respond to people. Not at all. It's just that no one asked. At least no one that expressed his desire to invest.

It's not the investor's job to tell you how to manage your investment scheme. It's your job to research options like providing security assets with a trusted third party.

Ok, can you go ahead and stop stereotyping please. I know you feel like the whole of the MD forums is against you (as well as beneath you) but some of us haven't posted about how ridiculous your IPO is. Therefore, I don't feel its fair of you to group us all together.
On a side note, your spelling suxors. I can say this because even though I too mispell lots of words, I don't profess to be some sort of smarter-than-you market genius who just needs a chance. I understand the word pride and realize when to swallow it. I can take most criticism and use logic to defeat it, rather than resort to name calling or a simple 'stfu'. If I can't defeat it, I consider it to be productive criticism and use it to better myself or my situation. I also get my investments funded.
My advice to you, drop this whole "I hate ebank and ricdic" crusade you've been on. You just might earn a lot more respect if you can be a bit bigger man/woman and put the past behind you. Whether we think Ricdic in some way offended you or not doesn't matter. At this point we just want you to drop it because honestly, no amount of you bringing it up in every thread is going to make us all of a sudden pat you on the head and give you a cookie.
One last piece of advice, ask the mods to lock this thread. Come up with an idea for your IPO, detail it out and post it. More importantly, stick with your idea. All this "Free cookbook if you call in the next 5 minutes" crap and changing the details based on your mood for the day is getting old. Put your plan together and stick with it. Wait for the criticism, and modify the plan if you realize you NEED to.
Just my two cents from the cheap seats.

If I can get away without the stress that implies, you can be sure I will at least try it. I have some T1 BPOs that are valued around 3B. It's just a matter of adjusting the return rate to compensate for a reduction in the number of assets that I might otherwise require for manufacturing and increasing IPO profits, we'll also turn this into a bond. I will need to create a new thread though. Just a moment.

Man, the EVE economy is in worse shape than we thought!
I'm mildly amused by the wild vacillations between 'guaranteed bond' and 'it's a complete gamble!'
