ok, I just thought of this, a devine epiphany from the Ore gods Tenashi prays to. As a An Intensive Carebear, I want both combat and a rocks to hump. More than anything I'm sick of the constant squaballing about the ore distrabution after castor... yes CCP nerfed Stain, and they needed to. But they friggen small weak rubberbanded it. So my salution. CCP you should give the Stain and Curse Regions 5 systems with Bistot and Gniees each. Give the Capturable Station regions 10 systems with Arkanor and Crockite. Give all .1 and .0 systems Spodanium roids never totaling more that 10 roids a system. Really, I think since yu'll never get rid of the Bship numbers, you might as well make the costomer's happy, cause its about us, not you. Anyway, I also hate having to find safespots, so maybe you could do something with the autoscanner to make it useful again in that department?
I am Jack's broken moral compass. I am Jack's STILL trapped in eve limbo. maybe not for much longer... |

Honestly this is not an argument. Stain used to have bistot IN systems with stations and Curse had to mine bistot 15+ jumps away and we never complained. FA and SA declaired war on us and we still mined those 15+ jumps to supply our PvP, we persevered. Now that we can get ahead in mins and crap and Stain has to haul 5 jumps (max) they complain. Personally i think this guy is proposing this idea so that Stain can try and rebound in .1 systems mining spod and Nerf us....

The reason you didn't complane was that you wasn't used to anything better. You found a home and mined what ore your home provided you with. 5 jumps? whatever But as I was told.. Stain got the short end of the stick this time.. that might change next time.. |

oh for sh1ts sake...If the roles were reversed and the present or the old Stain Alliance controlled the old curse where you had to mine 15+ jumps you would have folded and packed it up for empire much sooner. The plain and simple fact is you are too lazy to go out and get the necessary ore so you ***** and moan hoping that CCP will hear your cries and give you a sympathy vote because you are getting smashed by the Evil Curse Alliance. well go **** yourselves....

this isnt just about high end ores, its about all ore types. Yes the highend ores were removed from stain, but that was only bistot/crok which doesnt give half as much megacyte as ark does. This might seem strange to some people but low end ores also cannot be mined because of the current npc pirate situation. Before the castor patch we could mine all ore types in stain, which we did, now we have NPC BS's guarding the same ore types as you can get in empire in a 0.5 system.
If ccp want 0.0 space to be populated then they have to change this. Ive been told that the strength of npc pirates is changed according to the systems sec rating 0.0 to -1.0. If this is the case why carnt they make the ore/pirate distribution the same as in empire, so only systems -0.8 to -1.0 have crok/bistot/ark in WITH npc bs spawns there, and systems 0.0 to -0.4 have fairly weak rat spawns (no bs spawns and max 5-6 cruiser spawn) but with also only low end ores in.
I am also not only talking about stain. All alliance space is held for high end ore mining only. If an alliance corp wants to mine low end ores they simply go back into empire space and mine there.

we had ark there for about 1 month, and that was during the baby roid bug, and the ark that was there was only in small quantities 5-6 roids per belt, not like todays ark belts with 15-20 roids per belt. Also if i remember correctly OC had what 4 times asmuch bistot belts as anyother corp is SA

I don't like SA's current situation, but there is little I can do to change the ore situation in stain.. life goes on.

Stain was full of Bist at one time but due to over mining area's that OC did not hold, as they only mined enough to fund there Pvp, most of Stain was striped of any high end ores. Thus resulting in everyone saying that OC held 4 times as many Bist producing belts as any other Stain corp as they seem to only remember the time right before Castor.

I remember mining, hauling to a depot, then hauling bistot from a depot to a station 28 jumps away, all the while worring if SA would shoot me even though we had a NAP.
Now I just undock and mine and haul a couple jumps and refine. Guess all those months of dodging bullets and lasers paid off.

I am getting real ****ed off at 'CA had bistot 15 jumps away' while stain had it in their backyard.
Its true Stain had it easy but its not true that curse region was depleted of bistot.
Been to curse in that period of time and i know that altho scarce, bistot and crockite was there to mine and if you want an example i am sure that k88 or soemthing had bistot.
And 15+ jumps out to mine bistot?? another blatant lie i know for a fact that 11 jumps from hlw in scaldic pass was plenty of bistot.
Also, curse as a region has its exits pretty close one to another making it reeally easy to acces different regions.
Stain on the other hand has its exists 20 jumps on from another and also from the southern end (former oc hq) to the exist is about 40 fricking jumps.
Another bonus in terms of quickly assembly of troops and so forth.
So stop bringing that argument into discussion CA cause you were nowhere so nerfed as Stain is today.

So if i am getting this right... You are talking about Curse having 11 jumps 'only' back in the days, and you claim that 5 jumps is too far?
The closest location i seen in curse with good roids was 4 or 5 jumps away, and i never ever heard someone complain about that. Would your royal highnes settle with instadock from the belt, a station next to your bistot roid... Or do you want it to spawn inside your hangar instead?
I don't know what the hell mass is whining about, the last few weeks they didnt came to aid their brethern in the south and from what i hear dalman has 200k mega stored away. So what CCP has to ask themselves is: Do they really need to give SA everything on a silver plater like they did before castor.
Or does SA need to ask themselves the question to invest more time in logistic management. __________________________

Dreamworks in my eyes you will always be the carebear of choice in EVE. Not the OC sig nor your signature will ever change that or at least make you worth paying attention to.
However since you did bring it up in this thread please look more closely to what i said. Namely: from dss (our living area) to paragon soul and esoteria is quite a trip 40+ jumps or more.
Now taking that plus the fact that your fighting style is extremly unpleasant(which anyone who fought you can vouch for), please draw your own conclusions.

That you rather mine in Catch than fight? Hm, what IS your definition of beeing a carebear? Standing up for your corp, killing people (look at TGIF's killcount), not make money or WHINE about the ore distrubition or mine while your Alliance mates are losing a daily fight, do risk ships, and some corporations sit far far away watching the map smiling while their hangars fill up with ore.
You were not alot present in Catch where you occupy some stations now all the sudden while i NEVER seen Mass fight, you now dont show your face when were in Esoteria OR o5y/4gq and you talk about not liking our fighting style? Do you even know what fighting is? Go ride that pink cloudmobile of you, your my muppet of the week. __________________________

Yes, all so is bad...? Someone was given arc, they dig less to receive the certain amount of mega, but transporting to reprocessing longer. Another was given bist, they should dig longer to receive like amount of mega, that the first, but it is less transporting to reprocessing. So what is a problem here? It's likely you people already have grown very lazy it's the limit. Can CCP make spawn megac in your hangars...?

I think you all are missing the point. SA went to Stain in late May, and defended it and its riches until the ore redistribution in December. For the last 4 months Stain has been almost worthless, as its not possible to mine common ores, nor are there any ores of value there.
Now for the sake of being fair, 100's of users that invested 7 months time, defending, preparing, and guarding an area, are now reduced to all mining and hauling to the exact same two stations. Which happen to both be in "bottlenecks" and easily attacked. Call it crying, or whining, but in 4 months of no common ores, and no high end ores in the many systems of Stain, CA/Xetic/C4 combined seem to be "removing us forever" on a weekly basis.
I have respect for what CA and some former comrades of OC were able to accomplish prior to the Castor patch and the ore redistribution. It was done with skill, planning and great teamwork, but I am sorry if in no way can I see how its "fair" that our ore "up and moved." Perhaps when the STATION redistribution, the lab redistribution and the ore redistribution occur you all will be equally happy. (yes thats tongue and cheek)
AS for Xetic - Why can't Hegamonic Corp simply post we dont like Stain, and get it over with. Its a bit boring to read them as the only Xetic corp that posts of "Stains great deceit" time and again.
I've had many fun hours of fighting with CA, and their new found strength following the castor patch. I don't see whats so intimidating to CA if Stain were to actually have something in it.
Flame away, but make sure you take all the now worthless labs, factories, and stations of Stain with you.

I have no problem with CA or anyone gaining ore due to the patch.
What I think ought to be reconsidered was the REMOVAL of ores from certain regions, and for that matter, any region including Stain. If you want to start a post on "why we never had good ore" just hit "New Topic."

Half XETIC didn't care too much in my opinion of you right when castor hit, and after the several invasions by collective and such, the rest of XETIC woke up and in my opinion realized either: a.) Stain wanted a war with us, b.) Stain couldn't control it's corps and uphold the NAP or c.) Stain habored pirate corps whom constantly hit us.
Either way I guess the last half woke up and decided not to take it. Had you all wisened up and not hit us that one time with collective, we woulda remained out and you woulda had only C4 and CA.....Why you came into Immensea I'll never understand. Perhaps I will call you all H itler Jr from now on.

Edited by: Saladin on 05/04/2004 23:44:55 The bistot in Curse was depleted by the end of june. The roids that Akath referred to were baby roids.
I would like someone from SA to show me a single system in the Curse Region that has bistot or arkanor. A single one. We didn't have much choice in the region we settled. All the pirate nation regions had been taken, and Curse was settled by corporations who were fed up with other regional alliances. It was the worst spot, any minable amounts of rares were 15+ jumps away, you couldn't defend the area by camping a single system. It is like living in the town square, your enemies can approach from any and every direction. The Curse region is connected to at least 4 other regions.
As for SA, the selected the region connected only to 2 others. Insta jumps all the way down from empire (remember that folks?) and easy as hell to defend.
We at Curse thought large and expanded our claims, we worked hard to secure what is an insecurable area. You want to know the real reason SA got the shaft? They chose to live in the bottle while we lived in the town sqaure.
We claim 8 regions. You claim 3 and lost 2 (Estoria & Paragon Soul from what I gather from Duke). You want our 8 regions (about 1/4 of the 0.0 map) to be devoid of any rares while your single region gets it all? Is this what will satisfy you? You lost because you did not have our will to persevere, not because we have more money.
Edit: One more thing, when SA conquerable stations were captured, in several instances we found large amounts of rare ores in people's personal hangars. So obviously some of you guys have no problems mining --------------------------- (c) Copyright Saladin, 2005. Quite honestly, Stain got shafted at the outset of Castor, but then again, I dont care too much.
It hurts to have such a huge change happen over night, but we all have to adapt to a changing game world and even though things may look bleak now, that is in no way the case for the future. CCP needs to make all regions valuable in some respect, Stain lucked out at the begining, so things needed to be changed, in the future, Stain will have its pros and cons just like any other region.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

I Like Kalki's outlook on things, I agree, Stain may well have gotten a hit on the hard side from the nerf bat, but it's going too get balanced back when the time comes, and that's that. "Game experience may change during gameplay" remember these lines when you start whining, they have a disclaimer for this.
Have you for one second stopped too think of the pro's and con's of Stain, from what I gather, it has been turned into the prime npc hunting region. I think that you guys should try too think of a way too deal with that, your region got changed from prime mining too prime npc hunting.. what can be done. rent out "hunting tours" too outside corps, hunt the npc's yourselves, plenty cash in ramping npc bs spawns, and plenty cash in the loot they drop + the crap can be refined for minerals :D think about this for a second ------------

You have been terribly misinformed! Stain has not been nerfed! Indeed!
It is well known throughout the galaxy the kernite of Stain is the most rare kernite in all of Eve. It is the only source of the most wanted 99% pure isogen!
Our most talented alchemists were enlightened with a special refining technique while staring endless hours at the kernite rocks, praying at the gods of Eve to mutate them back into our long lost bistot stones.
In time, we've learned that this Stain isogen is even more valuable than the tainted megacyte of Curse. It is very hard to come by these days, as I heard it spoken that it is heavily guarded by ruthless and mindless pirates, bend only on destroying any who dares even to look at their precious stones.
I have customers willing to pay 1M for each unit of this Stain isogen. Who dares say that Stain is worthless now?!

I hope u enjoyed .

Edited by: SlightlyMad on 06/04/2004 23:00:11 I think ALL arguments concerning the comparison about regions are right down stupid. If you don't like one place, go to another. If someone is protecting a great spot with larger guns than yours, tough luck.
Why should the areas be "equal"?
Just because you live there?
Just because you are mortal enemies and having a war that noone remembers how it started?
I hope many don't see this as a problem and that it is very few thinking its something to care about.
* -"You know, we play the "good guys" right? We kill pirates, griefers, retards and general subversive elements in the EVE-Community. To the rest, we are friendly and always prepared to help out. Peo |
