The Jihad swarm gave me inspiration. What'd happen, if all the pirates moved into high security, and just really ****** about with miners and industrialists. Would the carebears realise that they could die less if they went into low security where it's virtually empty because all the pirates are in high security stealing your basez0rs. _____________________________ "So what do you need, besides a miracle?"

Yet another person that doesn't understand the Carebear mentality.
Make things too hot in High Sec and they will just quit playing. Just like in real life if there is rioting in the streets the cashiers for hte grocery store don't go to work. Difference is in real life they HAVE to live, in a game they can just leave and go to the next one.
Stop trying to worry about what other people are/aren't doing and play the stupid game.

Damn that was a terrible typo. Still though, if you got killed a lot in high sec, would you think about moving to low sec, or would you just quit the game.
OR would you persist, be killed quite a lot, and maybe get some revenge? _____________________________ "So what do you need, besides a miracle?"

avoiding getting killed in high sec is so easy its not funny and even if you did get swarmed and suicide ganked in your hulk its not like the cost to fully fit and replace a hulk is much what 200mill tops ? if your a hardcore miner you can make that in less than an hour anyway.
at the end of the day the current jihad serves no purpose besides putting more money in the hulk producers pockets so anyone owning a hulk bpo or anyone invention hulk bpc's are the ones profiting. I would just do my carebear thing in cheap ships that I don't care about losing. And be glad that I'm not a miner, of course

Your drop in sec status will hurt you alot more that losing a few haulers will hurt a carebear. Most Carebears will simply adapt to the attacks in the same way as they would if their corp was war dec'd. Stabbing haulers, not going afk, staying aligned in missions incase someone warps in, etc.
There are no carebears in low sec because there is no way to be safe while you operate there. The difference between 0.5 and 0.4 is stark in terms of security but negligible in terms of ISK to be earned.
The solution lies not in making empire less safe, but in making low sec more secure. Making all missions in low sec require a gate key (given to you by the agent) would be one start. You'd not be able to attack them in missions but it would still increase the amount of shipping in low sec and thus increase your chance of getting kills. Plus the more people run missions in low sec the more people will need supplies, more haulers moving stuff in, etc, etc.
You can't be greedy and demand the right to kill anything anywhere, if you do you'll just end up with all of eve becoming like low sec. Then where will we be? Accepting a 'safe' aspect to low sec will ultimately work in the favour of pirates.

There is no point in trying to "force" anyone to change how they play any game. They will simply switch to another game that caters to what they want/need out of a game experience. If you want them to switch, you need to examine your reasons. If someone else playing the same game as you in a different manner upsets and irratates you that much, you shouldn't be playing sandbox type games.
Who do these people impact your life at all? If someone plays an hour a day running a mission or mining in high-sec, what impact does that have on you? Making someone move to a lower security system won't make them into PVPers, just targets. There is no reason for you to want them in low-sec except as easy targets.
They have valid reasons for the way they play the game. Let them enjoy their style of play, and you enjoy yours. --------------------------------- The Seven- Blowing up someone near you. |

No point trying to explain this to them, they don't care, no that's wrong they do care that's why there doing this .... this being making a concerted effort to run 60% of the player base out of the game so when they go suicide ganking in jita they don't suffer from lag

Not if just you did it, or your corp did it. But if everyone and their mother in deep space and low sec did it.. Well.. I think we would have a problem.
We do know theres quite a few who buys their ships in empire and brings it down to deep space and their home there. We also know that some alliances produces their own ships in empire, leaving only capital production in deep space.
I think its called a symbiosis. We are all in one way or other dependent on each other . whether we like it or not

To the OP , here is the crunch EvE is a pay to play now the carebares pay their subs the same as you do so they play as they want you pay your subs so you play as you want.
You PAY MY SUBS and I will go where you tell me. Seeing as I pay using real cash not GTS baught with isk that is how you pay my subs so I do as you want sounds plenty good to me,
But if you are not going to pay my subs stop trying to push me around and leave me to play this game as I want.
Oh before you ask no you can not have my stuff im not planning on leaving.

Not a bad idea.
The biggest problem with low sec is the fact that its just not profitable, the risk vs. reward is grossly out of balance. That is something the pirates neglect to see. In fact I'd go so far as to call them the "carebears" since there is little actual risk to piracy. PVE fit ships pose little real threat to a PVP fit pirate gang, not to mention that you can fly a cheap ship and just let the NPCs do most of your work for you. Sentry Guns? Its already been shown you can mitigate the consequence/risk of sentry guns if you aren't a idiot from low sec gate camps. You can almost always choose your fight so that the odds are heavily in your favor. Calling for easy low to no-risk targets is what you are doing, isn't this what you're accusing the carebears of having in high sec? Easy money with no risk...hypocrites.
Find a way to even out the risk vs. reward in low sec and you'll see more mission runners in low sec. Miners you won't see because of the mechanics of mining, you have to remain in one spot too long to make ISK doing it. That and hiring guards or the loss of a ship cuts the profits of the better ores to be pretty much the same as what you can make in high sec with a hauler partner/alt. That is why High Sec or Alliance patrolled 0.0 is best for mining and low sec sucks for it.

They understand the carebear mentality just fine. They are not ignorant, their just frustrated.
High-Sec represents a gigantic piggy bank filled to capacity with ISK and all sorts of mouth watering goodies, that many of them can no longer freely access.
Hammer in hand, they pace impatiently along the wall and at the gates salivating and yearning for the moment they can swing that hammer.
Only to come to the realization that their life of crime wasn't all that is was *****ed up to be.
The terrible truth then begins to dawn on them..that while a piggy bank does indeed have legs...a piggy bank doesn't walk.
Cheers
Indeed. For they are not carebears they are crybears. They have done bad things and now they must deal with the consequences of their actions, no more entry to high sec space. So they cry 'wwwwaaaaaaahhhh mommy make the nice people come play with me so I can smash their sand castles some more'.

Well I will make a prediction.
One day some company will make an MMO like eve with the good graphics and have a similar game play style but actually enforces their rules and doesnĘt allow the manipulation of game mechanics, and has more than one server when a GM on one server has to play on the other. Thus eliminating the need for a GM to be in a corp and give favorites. If this was to happen you wouldnĘt have to worry about pushing the carebears out of the over crowded highsec because they would all be there leaving you holding your blaster in your hand LOL.
Mommy that mean ole bear just dukied in my sandbox. :( |

If you're implying that "suicide ganking" is against the rules and a manipulation of game mechanics, it isn't.

Na just the way some of them go about it. I know that highsec isnt suppose to be totally safe, but it also isnt ment to be the solvern territory of any one corp. or that one particuallr type of player/person to be hunted down and concord led around like puppydogs. It's just not the way the 12yo ganker whiners think, tho.
EDIT: Note also that if there were a carrot, it could only be some sort of safety-increasing carrot - which defeats the goals of the 12yo ganker whiners. They want easy pickins with no way for ppl to avoid it. CCP could increase the rewards of 00 by 100-fold, and it wouldn't matter to me - if I can't get there without dying, it may as well not exist for me.

He's gonna be a sad panda when he finds out I can get enough minerals to make hundreds of thousands of missiles from a day or two of ratting. It's not like you have to have uberindustrialist skills to run a cruise missile BPO

You (and most people with a smudge of common sense and experience) can do it, but there is a good chance that people that feel the need to start this kind of thread can't.
Building stuff isn't cool so the don't want to train such uncool skills.

Cool I can sell them ammo at a 100% markup then. I think it takes about 30 minutes to train the skills to make ammo.

As a carebear myself, I'd quit before being 'forced' into low-sec. In a heartbeat.
CCP needs to think more along the lines of honey, instead of vinegar. Make low-sec more tempting, and more people will go there. How they go about doing that, is up to them.
But as long as they're charging us $14.95 a month to play - I will play the way I want. There are too many other good gaming alternatives out there if this game becomes something I don't enjoy.
Just my opinion.
