Tinfoil hat BPOs were a bad idea. Sure, people can invent a BPC, but the efficiency is poor. Furthermore, due to the numbers of people that think materials (datacores, minerals, etc.) they obtain themselves are free, they are unprofitable through invention. Only the BPO holders, who can make tinfoil hats with good material efficiency, can make a profit, though this is much reduced from the outrageous prices of years past. This is clear evidence that the tinfoil hat producing cartels are still going, though at reduced profitability. They are probably flooding the market with enough tinfoil to drive prices low enough that invention is unprofitable to anyone who values their time, but high enough that they can still make a profit.
CCP, this has to stop. The people of Eve need more tinfoil hats.

Clearly the man is not treating Serious Business with the respect it deserves.
When will you learn Falcon Troy that these people you're dismissing so cavalierly are singularly important? ______________________________

People whose sole purpose in coming online to ruin the enjoyment of others are sick. The internet isn't serious business until you start messing with people's time and money-investments. People pay for their subscriptions with real money and get items with time. You people don't seem to get that. I wonder if you would have the same mentality if you just bought a car and some kids ran up and bashed it up with bats saying "ELOHEL we gOT HIM." I doubt you would justify their actions with, "Cars aren't serious business and they're just havivng fun, I mean, They did pay for those bats." _____________ Hai. |

So is the Jihadswarm a tactic by the Goons to blackmail CCP? could it be that they are ganking high sec players who could very well leave the game because of the Jihad in the hopes of using it as a bargaining tool to get cause further nerfs to titans? If you believe the previous rumours of goonie blackmailing it could be taken as truth.
No one can blackmail CCP in such a way. If CCP sees a threat to their revenue due to a game mechanic being over used, CCP can change the mechanic or delete those over using it.

Yes well unfortunately many abused and broken game mechanics make 0.0 safer than Highsec.
To start things off: 1. Stop giving out insurance to Concorded and self-destructed ships.
After that is done we can discuss any other broken game mechanic. I've never been suicide ganked and still see how rediculous the concept is. _____________ Hai. |

it has been considered but the amount of people we would need is quite high ~ 175 people in gank battleships.

The goonies (loved the film btw) have the 100% right to kill anything, this is eve, its a PvP game, you undock and you can be killed, but.......
The goons say they like making over absorbed people who take the game over seriously feel emotional pain as thats how they get thier stiffies (gotta keep their right/left hands happy). I put it too them that they are becoming their said prey, they are investing thier emotions into the game in a different way, they may not care about dying because they aren't dying, they are stll floating in a pod when they ship goes pop, so sucide ganking is the wrong term imho, more like griefing in a way not envisioned by the game devolopers. (nerf insurance on Concord kills plz)
Eve's 0.0 is basically in the xenophobic tribal warfare stage of devolopment, and it will stay that way as quite probally CCP want it to remain dangerous and fun, (or they know there are more destroyers than builders in the world and think "just be friends" is a nice idea but unacheivable), after all blowing up stuff keeps the ecomony going, no boom boom, no market for miners, producers, speculators etc.
CCP, if the goons begin to hurt their bottom line can do some very drastic things within the story line of eve, a few Jovian undercover exploration agents getting killed could have the Jovians enter 0.0 and wipe out the whole goon alliance in a day, every POS, every Captial, every last ship, a total cleansing of all hostile forces, the goons and thier cohort would all wake up in thier noob corp locations going wtf.
Thats the beauty of eve and its story line, that threat does exist and they can say, no its all part of the story line that we are progressing, you know the rules of the game, you are always in danger unless docked in a faction corp station in high security.
...... continues overleaf. |

Suicide ganking is absolutely necessary unless you're going to advocate heavily nerfing noob corps.

One thing that always intrigues me about these Daily Mail-esque "Aren't the Goonswarm terrible and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it" threads is they never seem to contain anyone who actually was ganked - now could it just be that the number of miners getting ganked is a) small and b) they aren't all reactionary forum posters and expect to lose the odd ship - just like everyone says....
and also if all these people are actually leaving the game - why does it seem (from number of players) just as busy as ever - surely for CCP to be worried there would have to be thousands leaving.

"Arguing over the internet is like running in the special Olympics, even if you win, your still ********."
That said, I guess I'll ignore what I just said and put my 2 cents in anyway. Personally I like to Goons. I really think they should be allowed to do what they want unless it REAAAAALY effects a very large portion of the player-base in a negative way. As many have stated before, when you sign up to play you are consenting to non-consensual PVP (Quite the humorous paradox if you ask me). Thats what so great about EVE. Its unpredictable, and theres a defiant edge of loss. If your scared to lose anything, go grind in Maplestory.
