I play in windowed mode, and I used a resolution that was larger than the above resolution but yet I can't find it in the list anymore
It was a widescreen resolution essentially somewhere between 1280 and 1680, the height was somewhere between 768 and 1024

A lot of resolutions seem to be missing. 1152*864 is among them.

I was originally using 1152x864, post patch i'm stuck with a resolution that doesn't match up with my desktop res. Is there any reason why some resolution choices above 1024x768 were removed?

well they said they were getting rid of anything under 1280x768 so that one I can understand. but the current resolutions are completely crap in windowed mode for a widescreen monitor.
there are only 3 resolutions showing up. the 1280/768 is WAY too small, the 1280x1024 resoultion is too tall on my DELL 20 inch FPW monitor which runs at a max resolution of 1680x1050
so 1024 height is just too tall even after hiding the windows task bar due to the window bar at the top.

I don't understand why we can't stretch our resolution to be what we want to be.

Hmm, 1152*864 is still available in windowed mode. Guess the rez removal only applies to fullscreen.

I can't seem to get that resolution in windowed mode though
the only 3 resolutions I can get are
1024x768
1280x1024
1680x1050

Odd, I only get
1024x768
1152x864
1280x768
1280x800
in windowed mode. I get a lot more, all the way up to 1600x1200 in fullscreen, but no 1152x864.

you probably are getting non-widescreen resolutions. I'm guessing you don't have a widescreen monitor...

1280x768 is a widescreen resolution. Anyway, I doubt it has anything to do with this.

no i'm sure it has everything to do with "unexpected issues" from patching. Sadly it's becoming more and more common that blaring issues are occurring with patches that SHOULD have been caught.
I mean how much testing do you need to do to figure out what resolutions are available post patch in fullscreen/widescreen pre/post patch....
how much testing needs to be done to determine that it's a bad idea to delete the boot.ini file.
I guess i'm just being mean because this should have been caught but still..

problem
here is the SS I am getting for resolutions in Windowed mode (I get the same in full screen /shrug)
It also shows how the bottom of the screen goes below the start menu bar......

I'm also getting this.
I always use 1152x864.
Anything smaller means that my display is next to useless as I can barely fit anything useful in.
Anything larger strains my eyes to the point that I get a blinding headache.
I do hope this is a glitch as I will be pretty damned annoyed if CCP have removed a number of screen resolutions from the graphics options as seems to be hinted at here as the only other solution is for me to go out and buy a new monitor which I can't afford to do at the moment.

The game is simply unplayable in anything other than 1152x864 for me. If they removed it... well, time to GB2WOW I guess .

They haven't removed resolutions from the game. Infact they can pratically be anything you want them to be, your video card adjusts for it.
They have however, since Trinity was released dic.ked with something and caused us to loose presets and custom resoltuions.
This patch did nothing for me personally, all it has done is fuc.ked up my all my settings on two seperate client installs. GG CCP. Again.

Here's how I fixed the missing video resolution on my machine:
I changed my machine video mode to the one I wanted to use in game. That made it appear in the Eve options. I switched eve to my desired res and then changed my machine back to it's original res. Now I can play Eve windowed the at the right res.

Please bug report all cases of missing resolutions that were previously available before the patch.
Please make sure you mention:
- what graphics card do you have.
- what driver versions.
- what operating system are you running.
- what DirectX version are you using.
- are the resolutions unavailable in full screen mode, windowed mode or both?

This is not a bug, ccp should already be aware of this.
This issue existed before the patch however, since the patch just more people are affected. ffs.
EDIT* Tell us how to set new custom resolutions.

I filed a bug report and CCP claim they can't reproduce it.

I'm at work but I just spoke to my son and we have the same problem :(
I told him not to download for a few hours too as we got the boot.ini problem last time.
I'll file details later but I just want to keep this thread active so they know it's a common problem.

I'm getting a similar issue... currently playing on a 42" hd tv for the time being, windowed mode I can play at 1152x648 without a snitch, since the patch the screen will not offer me that res at full screen... its unplayable at any other resolutions.
