Since this 51200 patch, I get a "CCP ExeFile" error window that pops up most times I quit the game. It occurs on all three computers I run. Now that I think of it, I was also getting it when exiting the test test server running patch 51011.
CCP ExeFile has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Same issue here, but on Vista 64....never happened before patch, I thought it might be Aero desktop related, but you are running XP, so I guess not.

Same here. I played on a trial account for 5 days before the patch, no issues other than the massive lag time to get in to and out of Jita, now that the booster patch is out, I get that same error about 85% of the time when I close the game and I have been stuck in the jump gate to Jita 6 times in 2 days. I also notice that during warping to a location, alot of the time the distance to the destination goes UP instead of down like it should and then seems to "catch" itself 5-10 seconds later. This did not occur before the patch.
I haven't been playing as long as alot of you have, only about a week, so I don't really notice much difference, but some of you vets, Is the game any different to you after the patch? For me it is much worse. I get very little playing time as a new player because I keep getting stuck in the gates trying to complete missions to get money. Its really starting to suck.

Same here, started happening after the patch.
I tried uninstalling eve (and deleting all settings/cache/log folders) and reinstalling with the latest built from eve-online.com. Didn't work :(

i run two accounts on one machine and get it to, i'm using xp. wierd thing is first account can ctrl q with no probs, when i ctrl q the 2nd account, i always get it.
also, when I have them fleeted up, if i remove one char from the fleet, if i alt-tab to the other account right away, it happens. If I wait a few secs before alt=tabbing, the other account remains stable.

I'm getting it too, on Vista.
I haven't tested it out, but I believe it is to do with Vista's 'Data Execution Prevention'. I haven't played with turning it off for EVE, so I'm not sure.
Anyone else having the problem who feels like giving it a try before I get around to it, here's what you need to know...
DEP is a security feature in windows that detects 'malicious code', viruses and such. I think something in the Eve code when it closes is kicking it off (it also happens when you choose to 'log off' in Eve too).
To create an exception for eve goto control panel -> system. From there click the 'Advanced Settings' link from those listed in the top left. Click the settings... button listed under performance. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
From there, select the second option (turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select) and then click add....
From there, navigate to and select the EVE executable. Click ok.
Like I said, this is only a 'huntch' based on something I saw in the error, so I make no promises this'll fix things, but it is worth a shot. If it doesn't, just go back and change the DEP option back to the first.
Obviously, I don't recommend doing this unless you know what you are doing and take no responsibility if your machine explodes, dies, formats the hard disk or causes alien creatures from the Zen dimension to leak through and take over your place of employment.

Vista 64 installation on my main PC with prem graphics and 8800GTS 640mb works fine - no error on exit.
The WinXP installation on my 2nd PC with classic graphics and ATI 1950Pro gives crash error most of the time when exiting.

What hotfix? It didn't fix anything here. I'm still getting this error.
I run a standard client for my alt and a premium client for my main, and I'd said to begin with mostly it was the standard client crashing on exit but recently the premium client has been crashing also. In both cases it's only when exiting the game.

I'm getting the crash on exit too :(
Tried reinstall of game, reinstall of drivers, various settings... nothing seems to work.
Running Windows XP, 8800 GTS, X-Fi, Core 2 Quad.
And zero crashes prior to patch... |

Edited by: jiantsquidz on 23/03/2008 00:47:21 Only bit of hope i can offer is this....try installing fresh graphics card drivers...trawl through microsoft help files for new driver releases too for Vista, and wait for Vista SP1 which is due out soon. I had the same prob on a vista 32 machine but has stopped since i installed some new graphics drivers and hotfixes on windows update. Sorry i cant be more help but i know i did something right to fix the prob.

I can confirm what others have noticed. I have the same problem on both Windows XP systems I use to play, since the latest patch. Both systems pack latest Windows XP updates (critical and non-critical but not hotfixes), latest BIOS update and graphic card/mobo drivers. Reinstalling the eve client did not fix the problem.
