Agree with the op, except for the hardcore part. End game should be hardcore, yes. But your first steps into eve not. Still ccp kinda fails here as most technics are still trial and error. Like when I joined in 2003.
But to ccp:
Don't you see some points where you need to improve when hearing the same complains again and again? And I don't mean to provide instant solutions, we know that some things are very very hard to find a fix suitable for the majority.
But more in terms of giving feedback. Actual status of development, gathering ideas etc.
To us paying customers it looks like you don't care anymore. Ofc ccp has grown a lot and a big company needs plans and standards etc. But it feels like you lost contact to your customers. And I know what I am talking about here as I have been with Eve since summer 2003 actually.
STEP UP and TALK to us, at least give a single statement about plans or your view of information for the player side.

mhm talekd with a few corpmates about exact the same issues and also chancelled three of for subscriptions. fourth remain for a few months to check if there are balances and to skill a few skills but would also be shut down if there are no fixes for the problems.

Come on Awox, I thought you were cooler than that. You are quitting for all the wrong reasons.
logoffski: This has always been a problem, from the time EVE began. In fact, devs made a tiny improvement in solving this issue. It's nothing new.
warp to zero: It's the best solution to a bad situation. Every uber fighter had instas. More noobs got opportunity to get away, but this has no impact on hardcore gamer. I dunno about you, but I value hardcore player kills much more than noob kills. So it didn't make much difference.
nanoships: Yes this is a matter of personal preferences. I wish this game had more twitch elements. I could even enjoy joystick controls with 1st point of view. One thing for sure, nanoships introduce more opportunity for player skill, for those that fly them and for those that kill them. CCP are not dumbing down the game with this one. They would if they nerfed speed.
farming: Same as logoffski, always been a problem, nothing new. I don't like what CCP is doing. CCP goes as far as to protect the farmers from players with GM action simply cause the player identified farmers as chinese. As if them being chinese supposed to grant them some immunity.
lag: since I don't participate in fleet battles, this has rarely bothered me. If you play a certain way you can avoid most lag.
crowded: This is true and can cause problems, but not enough to justify quitting game.
hitpoint buffs: I was one of the people who defended 50% HP buff. Back then I used to get tons of kills in my sniper Eagle, without even using scrambler or web. After the buff Eagle became completely useless. Now the tanking does seem to be rather heavy, but I think we could improve this situation by curing CCP from damage-phobia: make them reduce damage rig calibration points, introduce better faction gear for increasing damage, maybe even a damage gang bonus.
blobs: again, if you play a certain way you can avoid blob problems. Having an alt scout is enough.
bugs: this has always been an issue.
2nd job: no pain - no gain
You totally missed out on the most important quit-worthy point: Nerfing, random, ruthless, stealthy nerfing of the game we want to play.

warp to zero: instas needed to go, but god damn it they screwed it up with WTZ. This is the number 1 reason why I dont play anymore. (I am not a pirate)
nanoships: actually mwd ships, teh mwd module is so wrong and the devs even know it. a shame
farming: agree
lag: is always a problem, didnt leave cuz of lag tho
crowded: why there are only sooooooo few chokepoints while on the other hand we have WTZ is beyond meh, sure its crowded with instas for everything
Hitpoint buffs: tanking is handled wrong imho in eve, an active armor tank says it all
blobs: lack of tactical weapons sure is a problem
2nd job: I would love to have this 2nd job if it would mean something again
hardcore: isnt hardcore at all anymore, ship kills are getting pretty pointless and no adrenalin rush anymore says it all
alts: what about alts??? how much ****** up is it that a pirate finances himself with a mission alt = pure gheyness, although pirates need a boost tbh.

Nice post, agree with you probably 90% so I am not going to go into what I don't agree with, etc.
Funny thing is that this comes on the heels of me preparing to drop 3 accounts because I cannot sit here anymore and watch CCP boost farmers as another poster said, and give chinese people clemency.
I too, have seen that one... it's just wrong.

I may return, but that depends on CCP and how they deal with the farming.
This patch was supposed to combat spam and all, problem is that it increased with this last patch.
Will I be back? depends.
Thats $44.85 a month going for now.

Never thought I would say this but I totally aggree with Awox.
I have been playing this game since the very start and have loved every minute of it until the last couple of patches.
To many things are broken with EVE at current and when ever something finally does get "fixed" it just ends up breaking something else.

You take this game far too seriously and way too personal. It's a game, so just play and have fun, don't worry so much, it's not like it's your entire life or anything... is it?
So what if people log off, I don't get an ulcer over it.
So what if people use nano ships, I don't lose sleep over it.
But if you're not having fun, just leave, no need to be a drama queen. Stopping to play a computer game is not a big deal and nothing to go all emo over.
