You know its funny, instead of saying they need a few more mins before the time the server is supposed to be up, they wait till the last min and go oh sorry we need a few more mins, ya know if ya dont get the server online till 10mins before you say your going to let everyone back on, why wait till that time to decide that you need more time. Still amazes me this is the only nonbeta MMO that takes 2-3 weeks after a patch to get the game playable agian after a patch.

Wow once again we have a longer than normal expected DT. You guys should just double how long you think it will take and post that time instead of these silly extensions every time you patch.

ah yes incredibly disappointing, how dare they find small bugs and fix them during their daily downtime which happens every day which clearly people don't know about...
im dissapointed, i demand ccp stop fixing EVE and let everyone then whine about all the bugs...hold on that happens anyway....you can't win CCP

ok let me get this straight 45 mins extra dt for puttin a bpo right? ok watever y not just use that time for the real problems that r goin of i mean come on tbh i dnt wanna miss and extra 45 mins or more of my subscription on a bpo boost or put right

Also seems odd that a BPO change is among things being located on the client (or so this sounds), considering the clear client->server comms going on when one starts a production job and the general idea of tamper proofing things by putting them on the server. Or that this alone would take 30 mins (not that I care about the extended downtime if it does any good).
But I have stopped wondering. I personally assume there are other fixes included as well.

CCP has yet to figure out how to correctly ETA of server start up.
It could be another hour or 3 before anything happens.

Here trains are the most time-accurate travel mode :) (but timetables can go haywire from time to time ^^)

To give you an idea of why it's frustrating for some. Downtime occurs right in the middle of evening at 9pm. I set a short term skill training to cover that period, because I don't know there is an extended downtime. Now I discover there is an extended downtime after the fact, and I can't login to change to another skill, and it's nearly 11pm here. So I'll be heading to bed and wasting a night worth of training
One simple message telling me that the downtime would be extended before the servers shutdown though, and I'd have been able to avoid that. Is it a huge issue? No. Is it annoying in spite of that fact? Yes.

Well its not being fixed in regular downtime is it? So i agree, I am very dissapointed. And btw ccp would not need to fix eve if they would stop adding these patch's

Just wondering, with all this additional extended downtime that has been required to fix a patch that in theory was already tested thoroughly, how many free hours/day are you giving to subscribers as compensation?

Trust me ... working in that general industry, yes, that is the perfect logic of an IT person or anyone with a clue. But as soon as you add one marketing person (or account manager) to the mix, you'll be promising your customers that the server is up before it even went down just to avoid further prolonged arguments with said species
