Celot you big**** this thread is the best fake whinepost you can pull off? if you're not going to at least post a better troll thread you should have stuck to stirring up idiot carebears in one of the half dozen legit-post whining threads |

Edited by: Ioci on 22/03/2008 09:36:56 I was thinking it would be a good time to bring a pro N-a-z-i or pro IRA movement to Eve. Or is that a little closer to home in Europe?
These 'Paladins of the Eve economy' can come up with a new excuse to grief. That one aint washing any more.

Can you please keep your whining to one thread? And Goons, there's no need for the attention seeking you're doing right now. Let the carebears whine on their own. No need to get them started by obvious troll alts.

Nope, you're wrong too! Suicide ganking is a perfectly valid and approved game mechanic. CCP decides that, not you, no matter how wrong you think it is.
Have a nice day (and read my sig for that understanding of EVE that you're lacking)

No it is not!.
You obviously don't understand this game. The only place you are safe when logged on is when you are docked. Get that into your head.
Quoting from the Player Guide on this web site:
Don't play the game in AFK mode. This game is not designed with this kind of playing style in mind and you should NEVER consider your ship and character safe while being away from your computer.
Don't expect CONCORD to keep you immune to attacks or ship losses. Like in the real world, law enforcers often arrive too late at the scene of the crime, and even though they able to punish the criminal, they can't always prevent the crime.
TREAT EVERYONE AS HOSTILE unless you know otherwise, i.e. if you don't know someone as a friend or acquaintance assume they are planning to kill you and watch them at all times. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran)

Edited by: Avon on 22/03/2008 11:02:23 As everyone here who knows me is probably aware I have no problem *in general* with blowing the crap out of anyone, anytime, anywhere - I'm all for a Martini Eve.
However, I would add that I think that players should be able to choose to invest in a little more protection from suicide ganks (if they don't bother then, meh).
Problem is, how do you add this extra protection without unbalancing other parts of Eve? And how do you make it a choice or a sink of some sort to "pay" for the advantage it bestows?
The only thing that comes to me off the top of my head is some sort of ablative shield / armour extender. Much more HP than a standard extender, but it can not be repaired - not with armour or shield reps (or passive recharge), not with remote reps or drones, not in a station; not ever. If it gets used up you have to remove the mod and buy a new one (unrepairable also, to stop it getting fixed by repackaging). It gives a buffer, more time for Concord to react, or requiring more ships to gank it, but not much more. If it is expensive it probably doesn't need many de-modifiers, but I haven't really put that much thought in to it.

Well not all goons but this one especially, CELOT. god just go away, stop trying to kill my hulk in hi-security space. I mean why is this even possible!? what is this game. I happen to like the goon cause and all but mining in ardene has just become IMPOSSIBLE. Why is any player ship able to kill my hulk!? Or not just me either but I've seen Celot kill countless people. It's got to be a hack or something. I demand this guy be banned or stoppped or something!
JEEZ.
Why must it be a hack? It is an exploit if he evades the death penalty from concord, but he is free to shoot you. After all, you can stab someone in front of a police officer quite easily. You'll get WTFPWNED afterwards though! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

Edited by: Countess NotFarOut2 on 22/03/2008 11:36:07 So how exactly do you go about killing some1 in Empire/'safe' space? Mind, I do understand the basics: Take a ship and suicide attack another ship. Concord is delayed the lower the sec of a system. But a Hulk, isn't that a big ship? What do you need to destroy it before Concord arrives? Also, I can understand its fun to do this once, maybe twice, but to keep on doing that? Is that really fun?
EDIT: OK I checked, a Hulk is not that big on defenses. So how long is Concord delayed in say .5?

Can't believe I haven't seen this idea posted before, thanks for providing something new to read
I like the idea of extending the kill rights given to the gankees so that their entire corp can exact retribution - thus allowing a measure of revenge to be taken on behalf of those players who, through short sighted training choices, simply have no real offensive capability of their own. Apart from the NPC corp players, that is... they can just continue to suffer. I've not identified the problem with this plan yet, though. I'm sure it'll be there, somewhere.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Even more your fault. Pay attention next time.
So far from needing to be stopped, I honestly believe that the Jihadswarm campaign is the best thing to happen to EvE since Alliance 'P' was unjustly and incorrectly curtailed.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
