Sorry to say, Kieron was not promoted. He was terminated, about a month ago. Don't know why. He hasn't posted since Feb 8th, 2008. That's about the time he was let go.

I imagine we'll never know why he was let go, as that's an internal CCP matter. But, I WOULD like to know why the head liaison from CCP to their customers was released from service, with no notice to us, and no replacement in site. Considering the irony that it's his posting that tell you "all you need to know about Eve", it'd be nice to know what happened to his replacement.
CCP: care to comment? How about naming his replacement?

Let's just say, I know. It's that whole friend of his friend thing. Now, I know a lot of people will come in and scream "Proof or STFU", "Pics or it didn't happen", "Post with your main!", and stuff like that. Whatever. Believe me or don't believe me, that doesn't matter.
What DOES matter is CCP's response. We all know Kieron reads the boards, (but hasn't posted in 1.5 months now), so, one of two things will happen from this:
1) Kieron is alive and well. He'll read this, post, and I'll be eating humble pie. (Truth be told, I hope I am wrong. I'd rather look like an ass about this than Kieron not be here.)
2) Kieron won't reply. I'm not saying anyone at CCP will either, but, he won't.
While I hope like hell I'm dead wrong, knowing the source I do, I'm not. Which is a shame on two fronts.
First, because I'll miss Kieron. He WAS the liaison between CCP and us pod pilots, and he was a damned good one. Did he always get it right? No. Did he always do his best to be open and fair? I belive so. He answered out questins and gripes, and did so quickly. He didn't always please everyone, but hey, who can?
Second, because as the CCP liaison, WE should have been informed of his removal.  Not jsut because he was Kieron, but because that's an important posting in the CCP hierarchy. Who would you direct your questions/comments/gripes/conspiracy theories to now? I sure don't know, do you?
So, while some people, (ok, all of you), are going to question the legitimacy of my claim, I'd rather let CCP prove me wrong.

Kieron was probably the last olive branch between ccp and the community. The devs just dont have the pressence they used to and i miss it. When i first started eve oveur was answering my quesitons in the help channel, i mean what the **** happened CCP? I know youve grown, but has that made you abandon your community =\ Stop using community in your ads if your gunna just tell us to sod off and fire one of the best people ive ever had the pleasure of working with on the interwebs.

There are actually quite a few devs who haven't posted in some time. For instance, when was Oveur's last post? TomB? Tuxford, even?
EDIT: Okay, so I just did some checking, and Oveur actually just posted a couple days ago...for the first time in about four months. I expect he's too busy with work and family commitments to post much these days, but I feel that's a great loss to the community.

I spoke with Kieron in person at the Los Angeles Player's Gathering. By what I heard, he is involved in a eloborate project that CCP is working on.
I doubt he has been let go. I think it's more along the lines that he's become very involved in the project and has been delegating duties to other members of the ISD team.

Wasn't that two months ago? i.e. before his job status change as I understand it? Not gonna help.
Like I said, if he's still employed by CCP, this would bring him out of the woodwork long enough to post a response. But like I also said before, I seriously doubt you're gonna see one.
Dang, now I feel bad that no one's asked about TomB.

I think it is quite possible that "kieron" is a job, not a particular person. And that goes for any "CCP Whatever".

I certainly hope kieron is still @CCP. He was cool.
He's also one of the loudest mofos I've ever heard. Anyone that has been to a Fan Fest can agree with that. He did a lot @ those events to make sure everyone there had a good time.

Kieron used to be heavily involved with ISD and now with Ginger taking over that at least tells us that Kieron is no longer doing what he used to.
As for why we haven't seen TomB around for a long while, he was transfered to China and is now head Dev there or something iirc.

The devs who made this game great are all gone and now all we have are noob developers ruining the game one patch at a time. I started saying this about a year ago and it is much worse today than it was back then.

They still communicate a bit better than some other companies, but they could do better.
