His main may not be war-decked, but toran is. his main gangs me, i warp to him. in midwarp, toran gets ganged by his main. Then all three of us are effectively wardecked. Toran and the main either fly out after breaking gang, leaving me to be ganked, or they, shield/armor repper eachother and ** me over. Either way they win and i lose my ship/mods/implants. He singled me out coz he saw my CN raven. CN raven = good setup (lots of shiny mods). i also saw his employment history, 2 years. Basically, unless u know them personally and fully trust them, better still, own corp only get mission help. If u wanna cover ur bases coz u wanna be a good guy, ask for an extortionate deposit to cover ur a if the sh*t hits the fan. Must of thought I fell off a christmas tree. I have set up a channel designed to help people on their missions called "Helpmymission" with lots of good experienced players in there happy to help people out. I agree there is always a risk involved, but we aim to get a good reputation out there, as a safe(er) place to get some genuine help. I have now barred the people you have mentioned, so they won't be able to abuse the channel. If you , or anyone else, know of any known gankers please feel free to either go to the channel and let us all know, or send me a mail so I can stop them getting in there

(( but being an ex-squaddie )) the first rule of combat is to never let the enemy know what ur strengths and weakness's are. Its called dis-information. I made a point of asking for the deposit, so that he realised I was onto his game.. (employment history of over 2 years for a start with similar patter from past attempts) He also gave a lame excuse as to why he "asked me" (sit outside the station and wait for a cn raven to fly past). Also, if a suicide ganker squad wants to have a shot at the title with me in empire and they are confident that they can take me down before concord arrives, then those guys are welcome to try. I'm not bullet-proof and i'm certainly not blowing my own trumpet, but i believe they will be risking a lot of isk for something that isn't necessarily gonna pay out, or indeed work, regardless of how fine tuned their practice on singularity is. I have 4 years + in the game, and i'm the only person who knows where my skillpoints and how i setup my ship. Anyway, if i wanted to be really arsy with this guy, i could of requested a screenie taken of his mission journal with 1.5hrs left on his mission and emailed to a spare acct. that would of made him bail out i'm sure of it. My understanding of the numbers involved in suicide ganking the damage that 6 disposable overloaded-torp Ravens would put out enough damage in the 20 seconds or so before Concord make an appearance to overwhelm practically any tank.

I'm sorry, but you're mistaken. If they want to suicide gank you, you will die. Additionally, if they fail, it costs very little (relative to what they stand to gain) because they all have full insurance.

It'll cost us ... 40m isk, absolute tops, each. if even a quarter of your stuff drops, we've made a profit.

Don't join any fleet, if you can do missions on your own, I see no need for it and if you have tons of ISK, which I guess is the case for you, fit out a second ship, maybe a regular raven to help ppl in your corp or w/e with missions. Also perhaps offer alternatives, perhaps a logistics ship. If they decline then it could well be an indication of what they are really after. And above all, make sure YOU create the gang, atleast you can control who is invited.... But Crystal implants + damage/rof implants make even 5/5 look easy. 5/5 got nerfed several times so it is no longer as hard as what it used to be. (the original 5/5 took us around 6 ships to complete, this was back in the days that you would get poped in 2 volleys by the 30 bs spawn) -- Billion Isk Mission

Concord reaction times much quicker Not necessarily, i fell for this "scam" after running several checks first, first checked the player for basic info yup npc corp and good standing with factions and security status so no war decs. 2nd pulled up info from eve-survival about the mentioned mission(in this case was worlds collide lvl4) and asked few specific Qs. Thinking if worst happens and being nice went along only to be met by a solo orange player who was unfleeted and i remained fleeted at all times so i knew. The ensuing battle then lasted 19mins without concord showing up after what should of been an illegal attack and the person i was fleeted with nevr engaged me once, this all took place in a 0.9 system. Dont rely on concord unless outside a station or stargate.

Just let him give you a bookmark of the mission and go help without fleet .. if he can't be arsed to go to that little amount of trouble to get help or whines about wrecks/bounties he doesn't deserve any. This eliminates any half-assed war dec shenanigans which IMO don't really deserve to get ganks anyway (too little effort aside from finding someone stupid). And yes, this would still raise chances of being ganked if you're flying around in a juicy target because you'd just have to sit those suicide torp ravens at said BM instead of waiting at some gate, but if you're flying a setup that's worth it you should know not to fly it in hubs / be always paranoid anyway.

What people do nowadays is to hell with gang invite and bring on a suicide gank squad of hald a dozen torp ravens gank fitted that can gank even estamel fitted CNR's supertanked faster than concord arrives to help. heck these guys kill you on a gate before you even align to warp out! No tank can sustain the pvp punishment from gank overheated half a dozen torp raven setups.
