I'll come back to him after I've popped his gun toting friends that are more squishy!" This happened to me in a few level 4 missions recently. I wasn't shooting at the rats (combat salvage for the fun!) so, eventually, they stopped shooting at me to go after the "armed" guys in the fleet.

Simple, easy, just requires one character being in a tanky ship at the belt and getting all the rats to aggro it. In this case, keeping the rats alive is supposed to be smarter than killing them. However, with rats switching targets, the tank's role needs to adapt. Instead of just acting as the designated tank to take damage, it must also consider other options for keeping a mining ship alive until it warps out, then wait for aggro to shift back to the designated tank. A tanked Hulk can handle most spawns, even in 0.0, but sometimes something happens, and something explodes. --- Join BH-DL Skills
