Dont try to log on, its not worth it. Even if you can log on, the lag is so bad you cant jump, cant dock/undock or anything. Nice game.

Hope thye get their butts into gear cause its dam annonying not being able to login at night, when it fairly quite in eve to move things. Lost my hyperion cause I had to move it in prime time :(
Try an hour after DT if you are awake then, it is running well enough to dual box pvp at that time for me.

Don't know about dual boxing, but i changed the port on mine, instead of changing advanced network = 1, as it says in here (Note to CCP that this needs to be changed for slow people like me!):
http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=405
This problem has been driving me nuts for days, and i have wire sharked, ping plotted, pestered my isp about there routing etc...
Then it clicked, the main problems i was having were only occuring in the evenings, if i logged in early morning to midday here in NZ i would have no problems and could play for hours. Someone mentioned traffic shaping in another post and it clicked, the times i was having problems was when the traffic shaping comes into effect with my isp, around 5pm onwards coming off at about 5am (apparently to combat torrents/p2p clogging up the system to much).
So i updated vista 64 and all drivers etc... downloaded the basic client, uninstalled the old and installed the new (without having to patch). Changed the port and it all seems to be running smoothly now. It could have been any one of these things though and i am not exactly sure at what point the problem ceased to be a problem. |

It's none of it. It will reappear. I have also had once the chance to play for almost an whole hour last week without a diconnect and on two or three occasions for almost half an hour. These are the exceptions. The norm is disconnect within 5 min.

Edited by: Karim alRashid on 31/03/2008 13:01:35 Maybe there's hope for some. It seems there was some rerouting in Level3, and the strangely behaving 4.68.106.93 is no longer present, compared old and new routing looks like (first 7 hops removed for privacy):

Ok, today was a little bit better, but still - constant disconnects - every 20-30 minutes, instead of every 2-3 minutes. I've prepared LogServer & WinShark Capture for a period of 10 minutes. I'll send them to CCP to investigate...let's see... ___________________________________ Science & Diplomacy Manager @ BECKS Sons of Tangra Alliance (SOT) |

There were some network changes made around the Tranquility cluster during yesterday's downtime that may help to resolve some of these issues.

Hey guys Like the OP, I am with internode, I live in tasmania and been having major problems as well over the past few weeks. Been unable to authenticate or log in during peak (Au) times. Random lagg drop outs etc if I do get in.
I suggest you look at this thread on the Wp forums http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=930481&p=-1#bottom
Plenty of people having problems, It's a local issue and not CCP. It's been many frustrating nights trying to work out wtf the issue has been. Internode have not yet found an issue but it needs to be raised with them, more people logging support tickets the better.
Pop in an online support request here https://secure.internode.on.net/webtools/support Or call them on 136633 (been on hold 1hr)
But it looks like no one can connect to WoW now, so all the kiddies are crying and we may see a fix soon :)

I am in Tas with Internode as well, they have finally posted an advisory https://secure.internode.on.net/webtools/advisories/item.html?id=5285
They upgraded all their plans and dint figure to have enough capacity ready (It's been like this for a few weeks mind you).
Scary thing is Telstra are the Backhaul provider, so we are waiting on them now :/

The annoying thing about this whole mess is that WoW players in tasmania can use freecap to proxy their connection, and are just fine.
I suggest you complain about it here: http://games.internode.on.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=132915&start=375

Edited by: Hawk TT on 08/04/2008 16:32:22 This is nothing to do with the available bandwidth - I have 15 Megabits (Fiber), 40ms latency, no packet losses. I was busy last week, but I've played on 04 Apr 2008 and 05 Apr 2008 (last Thursday and Friday) and it was OK, but the constant disconnects have came back since Saturday...I have a LogServer Capture with simultaneous Winshark Capture, but they are old now. I will make a new set and will send a petition to CCP with the files attached. I believe this would be better than crying on the forum... ___________________________________ Science & Diplomacy Manager @ BECKS Sons of Tangra Alliance (SOT) |

Edited by: Shinzu Takigawa on 10/04/2008 02:32:50 Last 2-3 nights EVE TQ has been dropping out, laggin alot more than usual, crappy fps, crashing, losing connection and causing my internet connection to get real laggy on web browsing, voice chat servers, slow logging in, lots of glitches where the game hasn't fully loaded properly and a whole list of other problems... etc etc. Before 2-3 nights ago for past year even I have had no problem with this at all, ever.
I am in UK and im sure its not my ISP and an eve side problem.
CCP please fix this is making the game unplayable aswell as stopping from doing anything else while playing eve.

I'm having more or less the same problem described here as well.
Every couple minutes of inactivity while logged on results in a disconnect (eg: "connection to server lost" message). I have to at least manipulate the market - buy/sell something - for it to NOT disconnect or, undock from a station and rat somewhere. I've tried just about everything I can think of, including port forwarding to no avail.
Here's my traceroute from two different connections, first on a home cable connection and second from a box with multihomed ds3 connection:

Traceroute looks okay so I'm not sure what the problem is. Thing is, after playing for a few months, these disconnects are wearing me down. I don't think network congestion has anything to do with it either as I've left ssh connections idle overnight before. With EVE, it's ridiculous.
And btw - setting the alternative port to 3724 in prefs.ini doesn't get the EVE client to connect to that port. A quick 'netstat' (will) shows that it still connects to 26000; this is with EVE's premium graphics client.
Any other help would be appreciated. |

IF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AFTER THE BOOST PATCH, PLEASE, POST IN THIS TOPIC, SO CCP COULD REALIZE, THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM!
CCP has replied to my petition. Their suggestion was a COPY & PASTE answer. It is so irellevant, that I am really devastated
I've spent hours preparing a detailed report for the problem. I've attached a ZIP archive with Winshark capture, LogServer capture, DXDiag Capture, SysInfo Capture, Pingplotter Capture etc. Based on their response, it is PRETTY obvious that no body bothered to read / check what I have sent.
The petition is still NOT CLOSED, so I will be waiting for a couple of days, before taking further actions.

This happened to me this morning (Least I think it's the same/similar problem).
The Client hangs on the Char select screen (Can't even select char) and out of the 8 times I've tried I've had to turn my comp off as it hangs everything.
This has never happened before today and unfortunately I'm no computer expert so I'm kinda hoping this is the same thing that everyone else here has been having problems with so I know it's "probably" not my fault. |

I'm having this issue as well. I've noticed it tends to happen most when the server load is over 30,000+ players, becoming almost unplayable at that point. I can log on fairly well when the load is below 20,000, and between 20-30k is a crapshoot - sometimes it works, sometimes I DC consistently.
Very frustrating problem, the only times I can play are very late at night on the weekends - can't afford to stay up so late during the week due to class.
Hoping it gets resolved soon.

Hmm...interesting obesrvaiton - I managed to connect today and switched skills. I was pleasently surprised, but now I recall - it was 10 minutes after the DT ended, so there were less than 20K players...
I hope that the patch on Tuesday will solve the problem somehow ___________________________________ Science & Diplomacy Manager @ BECKS Sons of Tangra Alliance (SOT) |
